Solon Logo Design

Each and every new Solon company understands that they are in need of a logo, but few new business owners thoroughly recognize the vital role their company logo can take in their financial success, or exactly why one business logo performs far better than another. A business logo has an immediate and long-term impact on the financial success of a company, choose the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, select the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and a hindrance for the life of a company. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Solon businesses succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t demand contemplation, they can be comprehended in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo will remain legible and equally emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo needs to be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from today.

Retro logo design of a bike produced for a Solon coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffee bar were launching in an older part of the city and hoped to cast a nostalgic vibe without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I fulfilled the two jobs via creating a sign design that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo layout with a microscope slide and also germs made for Solon medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that researches the triggers and consequences of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine which works with the clinical evaluation of samples of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the sole instance I recall where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Normally I try not to be extremely literal with a design and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, but it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more captivating, more attention grabbing and much more meaningful.

logo design with a jumping green frog designed for a household enjoyable center in Solon.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of projects that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental professionals, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the business has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to feature a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a better lively high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for advertising and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a flock of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, and also a tree - designed for Solon travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but rather reveal emotional experiences by means of the images they capture. The idea behind this logo concept was to use negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they often share whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be communicated with mere words. I tried to do something comparable to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Solon logo but also to illustrate the depth of her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Solon logo style with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of logo design jobs that I take on I genuinely enjoy and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A but my client, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This man really hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family didn’t share his scorn for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I urge them to talk about it with friends and family as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get unprejudiced assessments on the benefit of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Business logos are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to create their business logo understand how vital a logo is for their company so they are way more vested in the outcome. Every logo design job has it’s portion of obstacles, however the largest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, design for Solon publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped parcel of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most vital part of a printed book considering that it is ordinarily the first thing a person sees in the book shop. For a publishing company, it’s the opportunity they will ever get to promote their label and get their logo design in front of the people that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars customized to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go but it looks like that in many occurrences one of the traits consumers usually tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small new venture commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and although I’m not certain it actually “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to imparting a spirit of flight and it was definitely a victory.

Solon logo style utilized for marketing and also a tag design for Vintage Instance features an old-fashioned font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand new cases for musical instruments, which appeared to be older cases. For this logo design I tried to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be used for every thing from a web site to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another era.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Solon, layout consist of an arc with lines intersecting through it to imply metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can be one of the most challenging logo jobs considering that it seems that every dental professional integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business marketing, if restaurants approached their advertising in the exact same way dentists do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would likely include an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I actually love doing dental care logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and eventually I created a concept that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a family members not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 characters startled in height to stand for a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the families in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be overly literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wishes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to describe specifically how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If you have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that illustrates itself will never have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo design produced for a hair layout studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird and an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a business logo which communicated a spirit of relaxation and class for their new hair studio. I created a design that didn’t go the obvious route of creating just a stylized orchid but alternatively designed a company logo that implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the logo design along with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is oftentimes the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead placed the importance on the perception that they wanted to forecast to their customers.

Logo layout for a software developer the layout features as well as famous element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and disk managing. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a connection between the software program and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it symbolized something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the symbolism supporting a business logo is equally as important as how it brands the organization it represents.

A logo style featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly knew the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a location to sell their secondhand equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Solon logo dsign with an image which garners the attention of vehicles and sends an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo layout MQ farms, this logo style has an area included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand idea wasn’t actually composed for an Solon area farm it was in reality created for a commodities broker, and this company logo was one of multiple which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was to produce a graphic that projects self-confidence, success, and prosperity.
Logo designed for using a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript font style that is evocative a renowned sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted quite a lot of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project where I worked directly with the owner to develop a logo design which worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
