Vandalia Logo Design

Nearly every new Vandalia venture understands that they require a logo, but few new business owners thoroughly understand the pivotal role their company logo can perform in their becoming successful, or exactly why one logo works better than another. A logo has an instant and long term influence on the growth of a company, go with the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, go with the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life of a business. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Vandalia companies prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require consideration, they can be understood in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo will be legible and equally emotive at every scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo design should be timeless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from now.

Retro logo style of a bike produced for a Vandalia coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and cafe were opening up in an older part of town and hoped to project a vintage atmosphere without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I achieved both of these jobs by designing a trademark concept that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo style with a microscopic lense slide as well as germs created for Vandalia medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which investigates the causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare that works with the clinical examination of specimens of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the sole instance I recall where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be extremely literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves rather literally, yet it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more interesting, more focus grabbing and a lot more meaningful.

logo design with a leaping environment-friendly frog made for a household fun facility in Vandalia.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental practices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the business has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to incorporate a couple springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not actually reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more lively high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - made for Vandalia travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty niche field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality because travel photographers don’t capture places or things but rather reveal emotional experiences by means of the photos they record. The idea behind this logo concept was to use negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of most good photographers in that they oftentimes convey whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness which can’t be communicated with mere words. I made an effort to do something much the same to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Vandalia logo design but also to reveal the depth to her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Vandalia logo style with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design projects that I take on I truly savor and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A however the customer, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy really loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his contempt for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge them to talk about it with friends and family as well as with people that they don’t actually know so as to get impartial viewpoints on the merit of a design concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Business logos are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that tend to hire an expert to design their logo comprehend how important a logo design is for their organization so they are way more invested in the end result. Every logo job has it’s allotment of difficulties, but the greatest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Vandalia book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped segment of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most critical part of a published book due to the fact that it is often the primary thing a person sees in the book store. For a publishing company, it’s the most ideal opportunity that they will ever get to promote their label and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars customized to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart yet it seems that in many cases 1 of the aspects folks often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller startup commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to affording a feeling of airline flight and it was undoubtedly a victory.

Vandalia logo style made use of for advertising and a tag style for Vintage Situation includes an archaic font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for music instruments, which looked to be vintage cases. For this logo concept I attempted to come up with a logo that offered a fluid vintage feel to it and could easily be utilized for anything from a website to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another generation.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Vandalia, layout consist of an arc with lines converging through it to imply steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry business logos can be one of the most challenging logo design projects considering that it seems that each and every dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business branding, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the exact same way dental professionals do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would probably have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I actually love doing dentistry business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and subsequently I created a concept that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a family members nonprofit, the logo design features 4 characters startled in height to represent a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the people in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution hopes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The intention of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to illustrate precisely how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If people have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that illustrates itself won’t have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo style developed for a hair layout studio including a script font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a business logo which communicated an atmosphere of calmness and class for their new hair salon. I created a concept which didn’t go the obvious direction of making just a stylized orchid but alternatively designed a business logo that suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the logo design along with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is oftentimes the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead laid the importance on the perception that they wanted to transmit to their clients.

Arabian horse logo style produced for a steed cattle ranch that specializes in breeding Arabian show horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo design a tiny restaurant, layout includes a modified manuscript font style which hovers over a team of elaborate lines and dots.

Logo layout for a software programmer the layout features and legendary element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and hard drive operations. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a bridge between the software and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it meant something to the owner of the business and in many cases the substance supporting a logo design is just as important as how it brands the enterprise it stands for.

Advance logo design created for a Vandalia indoor designer, design function a series of red circles that converge as well as replace the letter O in the middle of the logo design.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

A logo design featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly knew the market was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a location to sell off their pre-owned products to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Vandalia business logo dsign using an illustration that seizes the attention of traffic and projects an image that calls to mind the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo layout has a field integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand idea wasn’t actually created for an Vandalia area farm it was really designed for a products broker, and this trademark was one of multiple that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was actually to produce a graphic that projected esteem, success, and luxury.
Logo design made for the use of a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript typeface that is similar to a famous sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created loads of restaurant custom logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking where I worked directly with the business owner to produce a logo design which worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
