Wadsworth Logo Design

Virtually every new Wadsworth venture knows they need a logo, yet few new business owners entirely are aware of the vital role their logo can take in their becoming successful, or precisely why one logo design performs more effectively than another. A business logo has an immediate and sustaining effect on the growth of a company, go with the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, choose the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the longevity of an organization. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Wadsworth businesses succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t demand deliberation, they can be comprehended in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo design will stay legible and equally emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo design must be timeless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.

Retro logo layout of a bike developed for a Wadsworth coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffeehouse were actually launching in an old part of the town and hoped to project a nostalgic vibe without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I accomplished both of these tasks by designing a symbol design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo style with a microscope slide as well as bacteria developed for Wadsworth clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which analyzes the causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare that deals with the laboratory evaluation of specimens of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the only instance I recollect in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be overly literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, however it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more intriguing, more interest grabbing and more unforgettable.

logo design with a leaping green frog made for a family enjoyable facility in Wadsworth.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the types of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental professionals, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the company has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to include a few springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a group of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - developed for Wadsworth travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche field due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but rather convey emotional experiences by means of the photos they record. The idea behind this logo composition was to use negative space to project more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of the majority of professional photographers in that they frequently convey entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance which can’t be conveyed with just words. I tried to do something similar to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Wadsworth logo design but also to show the depth of her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Wadsworth logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of logo design projects that I take on I honestly savor and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A however the client, while he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man really loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family members didn’t share his scorn for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage them to discuss it with colleagues and family members as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get impartial viewpoints on the value of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his whole family and they adored the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Business logos are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire an expert to design their logo design recognize how essential a logo is for their business so they are much more vested in the outcome. Every logo design job has it’s allotment of challenges, but the most significant obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Wadsworth book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin slice of real estate to work with, however it really is the most crucial part of a published book because it is usually the first thing a person sees in the book store. With regard to a publishing company, it’s the absolute best opportunity that they will ever get to promote their product and get their logo design in front of the men and women that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches modified to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go but it looks like that in many occurrences one of the things people usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest startup commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their organization logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a feeling of air travel and it was definitely a success.

Wadsworth logo layout utilized for advertising and marketing and a tag design for Vintage Situation features an old font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for music instruments, which seemed to be antique cases. For this brand concept I strove to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could easily be utilized for everything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from another point in time.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Wadsworth, layout consist of an arc with lines intersecting through it to indicate metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can be one of the most difficult logo design projects due to the fact that it seems that almost every dental professional features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company marketing, if restaurants approached their advertising in the very same way dental offices do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would most likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I actually love doing dentist logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a concept that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a family members not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 characters surprised in elevation to represent a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the folks in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wants to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a logo design that communicated that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to explain specifically how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo that explains itself won’t have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo style created for a hair layout workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a business logo which projected a spirit of contentment and class for their new hair studio. I came up with a design which didn’t go the obvious path of crafting just a stylized orchid but instead designed a logo that implied a flower in the formation of a swirl incorporated into the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the concept using the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a business logo is frequently the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead laid the importance on the feeling that they really wanted to project to their patrons.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo style for a software programmer the design functions and also famous aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and disk managing. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a bridge between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it intimated something to the owner of the business and in many cases the significance behind a business logo is equally as important as how it brands the organization it stands for.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

A logo layout including a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly realized the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a location to sell their secondhand products to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Wadsworth logo dsign with an image that garners the interest of traffic and projects an image that invokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo design has actually a field included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo design wasn’t really created for an Wadsworth regional farm it was really created for a products broker, and this particular brand was one of many that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was really to develop a graphic that projects confidence, success, and opulence.
Logo design created for making use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript typeface that is evocative a popular sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created quite a lot of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project where I worked directly with the owner to produce a logo that worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
