Willoughby Logo Design

Every new Willoughby business realizes that they require a logo, yet few entrepreneurs fully understand the crucial role their company logo will take in their becoming successful, or exactly why one logo design works better than another. A business logo has an instant and sustaining impact on the growth of a business, choose the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, select the wrong one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the longevity of a company. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Willoughby businesses prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require contemplation, they can be understood in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo will remain legible and equally emotive at every scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo must be ageless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.

Retro logo style of a bike produced for a Willoughby coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually launching in an older part of the town and really wanted to cast an old-fashioned vibe without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I fulfilled each of the jobs via creating a business logo concept that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo style with a microscopic lense slide and also germs designed for Willoughby clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that examines the triggers and consequences of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare which works with the clinical assessment of samples of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the only instance I recall where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Typically I attempt not to be overly literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, but it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more interesting, more focus grabbing and much more meaningful.

logo layout with a leaping green frog designed for a household fun facility in Willoughby.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental practices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the company has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to feature a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a better lively high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for advertising and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a flock of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - created for Willoughby travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche speciality because travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but instead project emotional journeys by means of the images they capture. The thought behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to project more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they frequently convey entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be revealed with just words. I attempted to do something much the same to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Willoughby logo design but also to reveal the depth to her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Willoughby logo layout with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of logo design projects that I take on I seriously relish and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A however the customer, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy seriously hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members didn’t share his contempt for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage them to discuss it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get honest viewpoints on the benefit of a design. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they really loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a strange animal in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire an expert to design their business logo understand how essential a logo is for their company so they are way more vested in the outcome. Every logo project has it’s share of obstacles, but the greatest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Willoughby publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender slice of real estate to work with, but it really is the most essential part of a published book given that it is often the first thing a person views in the book store. For a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will likely ever have to spotlight their product and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars modified to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart but it looks like that in many occurrences one of the traits people usually tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller new venture commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and although I’m not sure it actually “took off” their organization logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to conferring a sense of airline flight and it was certainly a winner.

Willoughby logo design used for advertising and marketing as well as a tag layout for Vintage Instance includes an antiquated font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for music instruments, that appeared to be vintage cases. For this logo concept I tried to come up with a logo that offered a fluid retro feel to it and could be used for every thing from a web site to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another point in time.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Willoughby, style consist of an arc with lines converging with it to suggest steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo jobs because it seems that virtually every dental professional integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business advertising, if dining establishments approached their branding in the very same way dental offices do every one of their logo designs would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I really love doing dentist business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and subsequently I created a concept that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was evident was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo designed for a household nonprofit, the logo features 4 characters startled in elevation to stand for a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the families in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wishes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a logo that communicated that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to summarize how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If viewers have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that illustrates itself will never have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo design produced for a hair design studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird and also an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a company logo which conveyed a feeling of relaxation and elegance for their new hair studio. I created a concept which did not go the obvious direction of creating merely a stylized orchid but alternatively created a logo design which implied a flower in the formation of a swirl featured into the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the logo design using the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the image itself. The obvious path in designing a business logo is in most cases the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately placed the main focus on the emotion that they really wanted to transmit to their customers.

Arabian steed logo design developed for a steed ranch that focuses on breeding Arabian show steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo developed a distinct business logo concept fashioned to epitomize the unique physical traits of the Arabian pedigree of horses. By having a different head shape and very high tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the most easily recognizable equine lineages in the entire world.

Logo layout for a software application programmer the design features as well as renowned aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and drive management. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection in between the software and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it represented something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the meaning supporting a logo is equally as important as how it serves the enterprise it represents.

Evolve logo layout developed for a Willoughby indoor designer, style function a series of red circles that converge and also change the letter O in the middle of the logo style.

A logo layout featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly realized the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a location to market their pre-owned products to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Willoughby logo design dsign along with a graphic which grabs the attention of vehicles and sends an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo design has an area incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem idea wasn’t actually developed for an Willoughby regional farm it was actually designed for a products broker, and this brand was one of multiple which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was actually to generate a graphic that projects confidence, success, and opulence.
Logo design developed for making use of an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font style that is similar to a famous sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created quite a lot of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project where I worked directly with the business owner to create a logo that worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
