Youngstown Logo Design

Each and every new Youngstown venture understands that they require a logo, yet few entrepreneurs fully recognize the crucial role their company logo will play in their success, or why one business logo performs far better than another. A logo design has an instant and long-term impact on the success of a company, select the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, go with the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the longevity of a business. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Youngstown companies prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require contemplation, they can be comprehended in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo will remain legible and equally emotive at every scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo should be timeless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from today.

Retro logo design of a bike produced for a Youngstown coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffee shop were launching in an old section of town and wished to project an old-fashioned tone without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I achieved both of these tasks via creating a logo design that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

medical logo design with a microscope slide as well as germs designed for Youngstown medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which examines the root causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine which works with the clinical evaluation of samplings of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the only instance I remember where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Normally I try not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves very literally, but it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more intriguing, more focus grabbing and more meaningful.

logo style with a leaping environment-friendly frog designed for a household fun center in Youngstown.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental professionals, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to incorporate a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a more lively high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design including a flock of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - designed for Youngstown travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality because travel photographers tend not to capture places or things but instead reveal emotional experiences by means of the images they capture. The idea behind this logo composition was to use negative space to project more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of almost all good photographers in that they frequently convey whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be revealed with mere words. I made an effort to do something similar to this logo design by making use of the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Youngstown logo but also to reveal the depth in her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Youngstown logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design jobs that I take on I truly savor and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A but my client, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man genuinely despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family didn’t share his contempt for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage all of them to talk about it with friends and family members as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get unprejudiced judgements on the merit of a design. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they adored the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logos are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that tend to hire an expert to design their business logo understand how vital a logo is for their business so they are much more vested in the final result. Every logo design job has it’s allotment of challenges, but the most significant obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Youngstown publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped piece of real estate to work with, but it is the most important part of a published book due to the fact that it is ordinarily the initial thing a person sees in the book shop. Concerning a publisher, it’s the opportunity they will ever have to advertise their brand and get their logo design in front of the individuals that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go but it looks like that in many occurrences one of the traits consumers tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small fledgling commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their business logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a sense of air travel and it was definitely a success.

Youngstown logo design used for advertising and marketing as well as a label style for Vintage Situation includes an antiquated font style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand new cases for musical instruments, that looked to be antique cases. For this business logo design I sought to come up with a logo that had a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be utilized for every thing from a website to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different point in time.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Youngstown, layout consist of an arc with lines intersecting with it to suggest metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can easily be one of the most difficult logo design jobs considering that it seems that almost every dental professional includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business marketing, if restaurants approached their advertising in the exact same way dental professionals do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would probably have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I really love doing dental care business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was apparent was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo designed for a household not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 personalities staggered in elevation to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the families in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wants to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design which communicated that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The intention of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to describe precisely how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If you have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo that explains itself will never have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo layout produced for a hair style workshop including a script font a hummingbird as well as an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a company logo which communicated a sense of peace and class for their new hair studio. I came up with a design that didn’t go the obvious route of making simply a stylized orchid but rather created a logo that suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the logo design along with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is more often than not the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead put the importance on the perception that they really wanted to transmit to their clients.

Las Coffee shop logo layout a tiny restaurant, style contains a customized manuscript font style which floats over a group of luxuriant lines and also dots.

Logo design for a software application programmer the style features as well as legendary element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and drive managing. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a bridge in between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it symbolized something to the owner of the business and in many cases the significance supporting a business logo is equally as important as how it brands the organization it represents.

A logo style including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly realized the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a place to market their previously owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Youngstown business logo dsign using a graphic that seizes the attention of traffic and sends an image that wakens the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo style has actually a field incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo idea wasn’t really composed for an Youngstown area farm it was in reality devised for a commodities broker, and this particular logo design was one of a handful of that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was to create a graphic that projects assurance, success, and luxury.
Logo made for making use of an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font that is similar to a well-known sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created quite a lot of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project where I worked closely with the proprietor to design a logo that worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
