Youngstown, Ohio Logo Design

Every new Youngstown organization knows they require a logo, however few entrepreneurs thoroughly realize the key role their organization’s logo can take in their success, or why one business logo functions far better than another. A logo design has an immediate and long term influence on the prosperity of a company, choose the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, select the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the longevity of a business.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Youngstown, Ohio companies prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these five features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require scrutiny, they can be understood in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from labels to posters a scalable business logo will stay legible and equally emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a business logo needs to be ageless and should feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from now.
Retro logo design of a bicycle produced for a Youngstown, Ohio coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and cafe were actually opening up in an older section of the area and hoped to visualize a retro feel without appearing as boring or low energy. I fulfilled both of these jobs via creating a business logo concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo design with a microscopic lense slide and germs designed for Youngstown, Ohio clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which studies the causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the field of medicine that deals with the clinical assessment of samplings of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the sole instance I remember in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Normally I try not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents rather literally, yet it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more captivating, more interest grabbing and much more unforgettable.

logo layout with a leaping eco-friendly frog developed for a family members enjoyable facility in Youngstown, Ohio.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the types of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental experts, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the company features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to include a few springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a better enthusiastic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for promotion and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo including a group of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, as well as a tree - created for Youngstown, Ohio traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche field because travel photographers don’t capture places or things but instead reveal emotional experiences through the images they capture. The thought behind this logo composition was to use negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of most professional photographers in that they oftentimes convey entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be conveyed with mere words. I made an effort to do something much the same to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Youngstown logo but also to illustrate the depth to her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Youngstown logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design projects that I take on I seriously relish and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A but the customer, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This man seriously hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family didn’t share his contempt for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage all of them to discuss it with friends and family members as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get neutral opinions on the value of a design concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his whole family and they really liked the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logos are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to design their business logo understand how crucial a logo is for their organization so they are much more invested in the outcome. Every logo design project possesses it’s allotment of difficulties, however the most significant obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, style for Youngstown, Ohio book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped parcel of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most crucial part of a published book because it is often the initial thing a person views in the book shop. Concerning a publishing company, it’s the optimal opportunity that they will ever have to publicize their brand and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart but it seems that in many instances 1 of the aspects people usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller new venture commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and although I’m not sure it actually “took off” their logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to conferring a spirit of flight and it was definitely a success.

Youngstown logo style utilized for advertising and a label design for Vintage Situation includes an archaic font style design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for musical instruments, which seemed to be older cases. For this custom logo concept I strove to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid vintage feel to it and could be used for everything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different generation.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Youngstown, Ohio, layout consist of an arc with lines converging through it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care business logos can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo projects considering that it appears that every dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business marketing, if restaurants approached their branding in the exact same way dental practitioners do every one of their logo designs would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would likely include an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I really love doing dental care logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and subsequently I created a design that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a family not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 characters staggered in elevation to represent a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the families in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wishes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to summarize how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If you have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo that explains itself won’t have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo design developed for a hair style workshop including a script font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a business logo that carried a spirit of simplicity and elegance for their new hair salon. I came up with a design that didn’t go the obvious course of creating merely a stylized orchid but alternatively created a company logo that implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl blended into the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the concept along with the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is more often than not the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead put the attention on the feeling that they wanted to transmit to their customers.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo style for a software program designer the style functions and also renowned component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and disk management. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a bridge in between the software and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it meant something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the significance supporting a logo design is equally as important as how it serves the company it stands for.

A logo layout featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly realized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a spot to sell their previously owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Youngstown logo design dsign with an image that captures the attention of traffic and projects an image that wakens the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo layout has an area integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo design wasn’t actually composed for an Youngstown, Ohio regional farm it was really devised for an investments broker, and this particular logo design was one of several which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was really to create an identity that projects self-assurance, success, and wealth.

Youngstown Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Factor Solutions - the logo style attribute for externally encountering arrowhead as well as the arrowheads suggest that it is a ruby shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what kind of logo design they desired, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the opportunity to delve into any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye without understanding where exactly the target is. Luckily, in this particular instance, I hit a bullseye with the 1st go.

Logo made for using an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript typeface that is evocative a well-known sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted quite a lot of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking in which I worked directly with the business owner to design a logo design which worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
