Durant Logo Design

Nearly every new Durant organization knows they are in need of a logo, however few new business owners thoroughly understand the vital role their organization logo can play in their becoming successful, or exactly why one logo performs better than another. A logo has a critical and lasting impact on the prosperity of a business, go with the correct one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the longevity of a business. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Durant companies prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these 5 things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t demand scrutiny, they can be realized in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo design will remain legible and equally emotive at any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a company logo must be enduring and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from today.

Retro logo layout of a bike created for a Durant coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and bistro were opening in an old section of the city and hoped to project a vintage tone without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I accomplished each of the jobs by means of developing a sign concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

medical logo layout with a microscope slide and germs made for Durant clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which investigates the causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare which deals with the laboratory assessment of specimens of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the only instance I remember where I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Generally I try not to be overly literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents rather literally, yet it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more interesting, more attention grabbing and more meaningful.

logo design with a jumping green frog created for a family enjoyable facility in Durant.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental practices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the business features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to feature a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they utilized for advertising and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a group of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, and a tree - designed for Durant traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche sector due to the fact that travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but instead communicate emotional journeys through the pictures they record. The idea behind this logo design was to make use of negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of the majority of good photographers in that they often share entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be conveyed with mere words. I tried to do something similar to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Durant logo but also to illustrate the depth in her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Durant logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of business logo design projects that I take on I seriously relish and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A but my customer, while he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man seriously disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family didn’t share his hatred for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge them to talk about it with colleagues and family members as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get neutral opinions on the benefit of a design concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logos are a weird animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire a professional to create their logo design comprehend how vital a logo design is for their company so they are much more vested in the final result. Every logo design project has it’s share of difficulties, but the biggest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, style for Durant publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow slice of real estate to work with, however it is the most important part of a printed book due to the fact that it is in most cases the very first thing a person sees in the bookstore. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the most ideal opportunity that they will likely ever have to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go but it looks like that in many instances 1 of the things individuals tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller start-up commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their business logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to imparting a feeling of airline flight and it was surely a success.

Durant logo layout used for advertising and marketing and also a label style for Vintage Situation includes an antiquated font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for musical instruments, which seemed to be antique cases. For this business logo design I attempted to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid old style feel to it and could be utilized for everything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another generation.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Durant, style include an arc with lines converging through it to indicate steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo jobs because it seems that almost every dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business advertising, if restaurants approached their branding in the exact same way dental offices do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would probably contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I actually love doing dentistry business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a concept that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo made for a family members nonprofit, the logo design features 4 personalities surprised in height to represent a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wants to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to describe how people should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If viewers have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that explains itself will never have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo layout produced for a hair design workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a business logo which communicated an atmosphere of contentment and connection for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept that didn’t go the obvious direction of creating just a stylized orchid but instead created a business logo that suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the concept with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is frequently the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead laid the attention on the emotion that they wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Las Cafe logo style a little restaurant, style consists of a modified manuscript font style which floats over a team of elaborate lines and also dots.

Logo layout for a software application designer the layout functions as well as renowned element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and hard drive operations. The kernel connects the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection in between the software and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it intimated something to the owner of the company and in many cases the substance behind a logo design is equally as important as how it brands the enterprise it represents.

Advance logo layout created for a Durant interior developer, style function a series of red circles that intersect as well as replace the letter O in the middle of the logo layout.

A logo layout featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly knew the market was primed for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a location to market their pre-owned items to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Durant business logo dsign along with a graphic which captures the interest of vehicles and sends an image that arouses the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo style has an area integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand design wasn’t really produced for an Durant area farm it was really devised for a commodities broker, and this logo design was one of a handful of which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was to develop a brand mark that projected assurance, success, and opulence.
Logo developed for using a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script typeface that is evocative a well-known sports group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created quite a lot of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking in which I worked directly with the owner to develop a logo which worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
