McAlester Logo Design

Nearly every new McAlester organization realizes that they need a logo, however few entrepreneurs fully understand the crucial role their logo can play in their becoming successful, or precisely why one logo functions far better than another. A company logo has an immediate and sustaining effect on the growth of a company, go with the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, select the incorrect one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the life of a business. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help McAlester companies succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t demand contemplation, they can be grasped in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable business logo will be legible and equally emotive at every scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a company logo should be timeless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from today.

Retro logo design of a bicycle produced for a McAlester coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and cafe were actually launching in an old part of the town and wished to project an old-fashioned tone without coming across as boring or low energy. I fulfilled the two jobs by means of creating a logo design that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo style with a microscope slide and bacteria designed for McAlester clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that studies the root causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare that works with the clinical examination of samples of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the only instance I recall where I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Generally I try not to be excessively literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents rather literally, yet it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more intriguing, more focus grabbing and more unforgettable.

logo design with a jumping green frog made for a household enjoyable facility in McAlester.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental professionals, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the business has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to incorporate a couple springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a more lively high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - designed for McAlester travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I think it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but instead reveal emotional journeys through the photos they capture. The idea behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to project more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of the majority of good photographers in that they often share entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be communicated with just words. I attempted to do something similar to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  McAlester logo but also to reveal the depth in her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

McAlester logo style with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of logo design projects that I take on I truly savor and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A however my customer, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man really despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family did not share his contempt for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I encourage all of them to discuss it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get neutral point of views on the benefit of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his whole family and they adored the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logos are a strange animal in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to create their logo recognize how essential a logo design is for their business so they are much more invested in the end result. Every logo design project has it’s portion of difficulties, however the largest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for McAlester book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin slice of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most essential part of a printed book due to the fact that it is in most cases the first thing a person views in the bookstore. For a publisher, it’s the best opportunity they will ever have to advertise their brand and get their logo design in front of the individuals that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches customized to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart however it seems that in many occurrences one of the things people usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young new venture commuter/shuttle airline company located in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their organization logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to affording a spirit of airline flight and it was undoubtedly a winner.

McAlester logo style utilized for advertising and marketing as well as a label design for Vintage Case features an old font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in all new cases for music instruments, that seemed to be antique cases. For this logo design I attempted to come up with a logo that had a fluid vintage feel to it and could be used for anything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from another point in time.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in McAlester, style consist of an arc with lines intersecting via it to indicate steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logo designs can easily be one of the most difficult logo design jobs due to the fact that it appears that every single dental professional features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company advertising, if restaurants approached their advertising in the same way dental practitioners do every one of their logos would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would probably contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I actually love doing dental logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a layout that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this concept over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a household nonprofit, the logo design features 4 characters staggered in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the people residing in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution hopes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to summarize how people should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If you have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that illustrates itself will never have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo design developed for a hair design studio including a script font a hummingbird and also an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a company logo that communicated a feeling of ease and class for their new hair salon. I came up with a design which did not go the obvious path of making just a stylized orchid but alternatively crafted a company logo which suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the logo design using the figure of a hummingbird floating above the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is usually the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the focus on the feeling that they wanted to forecast to their patrons.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo created a one-of-a-kind company logo design tailored to exemplify the unique physical traits of the Arabian type of equines. By having a different head form and higher tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the very most quite easily recognizable equine lineages in the whole world.

Logo layout for a software program designer the style functions and also iconic aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and disk operations. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a connection between the software and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it meant something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the substance behind a business logo is equally as important as how it brands the company it represents.

A logo design featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly realized the market was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a location to sell their secondhand items to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their McAlester logo design dsign with an illustration that garners the interest of traffic and projects an image that calls to mind the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo layout has an area included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo design wasn’t really composed for an McAlester area farm it was actually devised for a products broker, and this brand was one of many which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was really to produce an identity that projects self-confidence, success, and prosperity.
Logo design made for using an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font that is reminiscent of a well-known sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created quite a lot of restaurant custom logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking in which I worked closely with the proprietor to produce a business logo which worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
