Stillwater Logo Design

Every new Stillwater company knows they are in need of a logo, yet few entrepreneurs entirely realize the crucial role their company logo will play in their success, or exactly why one logo design functions better than another. A logo has a critical and long term impact on the success of a company, go with the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, select the wrong one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the longevity of an organization. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Stillwater companies prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require contemplation, they can be realized in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable business logo will remain legible and just as emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the business they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo must be enduring and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from today.

Retro logo style of a bicycle produced for a Stillwater coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffeehouse were launching in an older part of town and really wanted to cast a nostalgic feel without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I accomplished both of these jobs by developing a business logo design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscope slide and also bacteria developed for Stillwater medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which examines the triggers and consequences of diseases, especially the branch of medicine that deals with the laboratory examination of specimens of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the only instance I call to mind where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Generally I try not to be excessively literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves very literally, yet it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more captivating, more attention grabbing and even more unforgettable.

logo layout with a leaping green frog developed for a household enjoyable center in Stillwater.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of jobs that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental practices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the company features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to incorporate a couple springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more lively high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - created for Stillwater traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche field due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but rather communicate emotional experiences by means of the images they capture. The idea behind this logo design was to use negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of almost all professional photographers in that they frequently share entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be conveyed with just words. I made an effort to do something the same to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Stillwater logo but also to reveal the depth of her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Stillwater logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of business logo design jobs that I take on I seriously savor and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A but the client, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy really hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members did not share his aversion for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge all of them to share it with colleagues and family members as well as with folks that they don’t even know so as to get honest opinions on the merit of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family and they really loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Business logos are a strange animal in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to create their business logo realize how important a logo design is for their business so they are way more vested in the result. Every logo design job possesses it’s allotment of difficulties, but the greatest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, layout for Stillwater book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender segment of real estate to work with, nevertheless it really is the most essential part of a published book because it is ordinarily the primary thing a person sees in the book store. Concerning a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will likely ever have to promote their product and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart nevertheless it looks like that in many occurrences one of the things people often tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller startup commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to imparting a feeling of flight and it was certainly a success.

Stillwater logo layout made use of for marketing as well as a tag layout for Vintage Case includes an antiquated font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for music instruments, that appeared to be much older cases. For this logo design I tried to come up with a logo that had a fluid retro feel to it and could be utilized for everything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from another point in time.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Stillwater, style consist of an arc with lines intersecting via it to indicate steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can easily be one of the most difficult logo design jobs due to the fact that it appears that every single dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to company marketing, if restaurants approached their branding in the exact same way dental offices do every one of their logo designs would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would probably have an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really enjoy doing dentistry logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and eventually I created a layout that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a family members not-for-profit, the logo features 4 characters startled in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the families in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wants to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo that conveyed that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to describe precisely how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that explains itself will never have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo layout produced for a hair design workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo which related a feeling of relaxation and class for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept which didn’t go the obvious path of making simply a stylized orchid but alternatively created a business logo which implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the logo design along with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a business logo is usually the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead placed the main focus on the feeling that they really wanted to project to their patrons.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo style for a software application programmer the layout attributes as well as iconic element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and hard drive management. The kernel unites the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a bridge between the software program and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it represented something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the symbolism behind a business logo is equally as important as how it serves the enterprise it represents.

A logo layout featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly recognized the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a location to sell off their secondhand items to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Stillwater logo dsign utilizing an illustration that garners the attention of traffic and sends an image that calls to mind the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo design has actually a field integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo design wasn’t really produced for an Stillwater regional farm it was in reality designed for a commodities broker, and this business logo was one of many that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was actually to create a graphic that projects self-confidence, financial success, and wealth.
Logo designed for the use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript font style that is similar to a popular sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed loads of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking where I worked closely with the business owner to design a business logo that worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
