Bend Logo Design

Nearly every new Bend venture understands that they need a logo, however few entrepreneurs thoroughly grasp the crucial role their organization logo can take in their success, or exactly why one business logo functions more effectively than another. A company logo has an immediate and lasting influence on the success of a business, go with the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, select the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the longevity of an organization. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Bend businesses succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require scrutiny, they can be grasped in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable business logo will stay legible and equally emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a business logo should be ageless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from today.

Retro logo design of a bike created for a Bend coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee bar were opening in an older section of town and really wanted to project an old-fashioned vibe without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I fulfilled both jobs via developing a logo concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

medical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and also bacteria made for Bend clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which studies the triggers and outcomes of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare which deals with the clinical examination of samples of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the sole instance I recollect in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Usually I try not to be overly literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves rather literally, yet it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more appealing, more focus grabbing and even more meaningful.

logo style with a leaping environment-friendly frog developed for a family members enjoyable facility in Bend.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the types of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental experts, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the company features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to feature a few springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a more enthusiastic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo including a flock of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - created for Bend travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche profession because travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but instead convey emotional experiences by means of the pictures they record. The thought behind this logo composition was to use negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of almost all good photographers in that they often convey whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance which can’t be conveyed with just words. I tried to do something very similar to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Bend logo but also to show the depth to her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Bend logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design jobs that I take on I honestly enjoy and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A but the client, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy truly despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family members didn’t share his scorn for this particular kind of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge all of them to discuss it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get unprejudiced judgements on the merit of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his whole family and they really liked the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire a professional to create their logo design realize how crucial a logo design is for their company so they are much more invested in the final result. Every logo project possesses it’s allotment of obstacles, however the biggest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also giving the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Bend book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin parcel of real estate to work with, yet it is the most essential part of a published book due to the fact that it is ordinarily the very first thing a person sees in the book store. With regard to a publisher, it’s the optimal opportunity they will likely ever have to spotlight their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars modified to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go but it looks like that in many occurrences 1 of the items people tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest startup commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and although I’m not certain it actually “took off” their custom logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to conferring a feeling of flight and it was undoubtedly a winner.

Bend logo design utilized for marketing and also a label design for Vintage Instance features an antiquated font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for music instruments, which appeared to be vintage cases. For this brand concept I sought to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be utilized for everything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different generation.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Bend, design consist of an arc with lines converging with it to imply steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design projects due to the fact that it seems that every single dental professional integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to small business marketing, if restaurants approached their branding in the same way dental professionals do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would probably have an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I really enjoy doing dental care logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a layout that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family members not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 characters startled in elevation to represent a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wants to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a logo design that communicated that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to summarize exactly how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If you have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo that explains itself won’t have the chance to be understood.

Logo layout created for a hair layout studio featuring a script font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a business logo which carried a feeling of contentment and class for their new hair salon. I created a concept which did not go the obvious route of crafting simply a stylized orchid but alternatively designed a company logo which implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the logo design along with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is usually the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead placed the main focus on the perception that they wanted to project to their customers.

Logo style for a software designer the style attributes and also famous element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and drive operations. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a connection in between the software and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it represented something to the owner of the company and in many cases the significance behind a logo design is equally as important as how it brands the company it stands for.

A logo layout including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly realized the market was primed for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a location to sell their previously owned goods to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Bend business logo dsign using an image that garners the interest of vehicles and sends an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo design has actually an area incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo idea wasn’t actually designed for an Bend area farm it was actually created for a commodities broker, and this logo was one of a handful of that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was to design an identity that projects self-assurance, financial success, and wealth.
Logo developed for making use of an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script typeface that is similar to a well-known sports group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted quite a lot of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking in which I worked directly with the business owner to develop a business logo that worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
