Canby Logo Design

Every new Canby organization knows they need a logo, but few new business owners thoroughly comprehend the crucial role their company logo will perform in their financial success, or exactly why one logo design works more effectively than another. A logo has a critical and long-term effect on the growth of a business, pick the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, go with the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life span of an organization. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Canby businesses succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand consideration, they can be grasped in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo will continue to be legible and just as emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo must be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from today.

Retro logo design of a bicycle produced for a Canby coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffeehouse were opening in an old section of the community and wanted to visualize an old-fashioned tone without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I fulfilled both jobs via creating a trademark design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo style with a microscopic lense slide and bacteria created for Canby clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that researches the causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare which works with the clinical examination of specimens of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the only instance I recollect in which I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Generally I try not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves rather literally, but it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more appealing, more attention grabbing and much more meaningful.

logo design with a leaping eco-friendly frog made for a family fun facility in Canby.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental practices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the company has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to feature a couple of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a more dynamic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they utilized for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - developed for Canby traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I think it is a niche area because travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but rather convey emotional experiences through the photos they capture. The thought behind this logo design was to make use of negative space to project more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of most professional photographers in that they often tell whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be communicated with mere words. I made an effort to do something similar to this logo design by making use of the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Canby logo design but also to show the depth in her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Canby logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design projects that I take on I honestly take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A however the client, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man genuinely disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family didn’t share his scorn for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage all of them to talk about it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get impartial point of views on the benefit of a concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logo designs are a strange creature in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire an expert to design their business logo recognize how vital a logo design is for their organization so they are way more vested in the end result. Every logo project has it’s share of hurdles, however the greatest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Canby book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin slice of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most important part of a printed book given that it is ordinarily the very first thing a person sees in the bookstore. For a publishing company, it’s the opportunity they will likely ever get to advertise their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches customized to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go however it looks like that in many occurrences 1 of the traits folks usually tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest fledgling commuter/shuttle airline company located in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their business logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to conferring a feeling of airline flight and it was definitely a winner.

Canby logo layout utilized for advertising and marketing as well as a label design for Vintage Instance includes an archaic typeface design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for musical instruments, which appeared to be much older cases. For this logo design I tried to come up with a logo that had a fluid old style feel to it and could be utilized for everything from a website to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from another generation.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Canby, layout consist of an arc with lines converging via it to indicate steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo projects because it seems that virtually every dentist incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company advertising, if restaurants approached their advertising in the same way dental practices do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would most likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I really enjoy doing dentist logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and eventually I created a layout that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a family members nonprofit, the logo includes 4 personalities surprised in height to stand for a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wishes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a logo that communicated that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to summarize precisely how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If you have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that explains itself will never have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo design produced for a hair style studio featuring a script font a hummingbird and also a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo design which carried a sense of ease and class for their new hair salon. I came up with a design that did not go the obvious path of making simply a stylized orchid but rather created a business logo that suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the name and by placing emphasis on the concept using the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the image itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is in most cases the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead placed the attention on the perception that they wanted to transmit to their customers.

Logo style for a software designer the design features as well as iconic element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and hard drive managing. The kernel unites the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a bridge between the software program and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it symbolized something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the meaning behind a business logo is just as important as how it serves the enterprise it stands for.

A logo style including a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly knew the market was ready for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a place to market their previously owned goods to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Canby logo design dsign along with an image which grabs the attention of traffic and projects an image that invokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo design has a field included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand idea wasn’t actually composed for an Canby area farm it was in reality developed for an investments broker, and this particular company was one of multiple that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was to develop a graphic that projects self-confidence, success, and opulence.
Logo created for making use of an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript typeface that is similar to a well-known sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed dozens of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking where I worked closely with the proprietor to create a logo design that worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
