Eugene Logo Design

Each and every new Eugene venture realizes that they are in need of a logo, yet few entrepreneurs fully are aware of the pivotal role their business logo will make in their success, or precisely why one business logo works far better than another. A company logo has an immediate and long-term effect on the success of a company, choose the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, select the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and a hindrance for the life of a business. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Eugene businesses prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not require scrutiny, they can be realized in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo design will continue to be legible and just as emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the enterprise they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo must be lasting and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.

Retro logo style of a bike produced for a Eugene coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee bar were opening up in an older part of the community and wanted to project a nostalgic atmosphere without appearing as boring or low energy. I fulfilled each of the tasks by designing a trademark concept that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

medical logo layout with a microscope slide as well as bacteria made for Eugene clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that examines the triggers and effects of diseases, mainly the field of medicine that works with the clinical examination of specimens of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I remember where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Usually I try not to be extremely literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves very literally, however it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more intriguing, more interest grabbing and even more memorable.

logo design with a leaping eco-friendly frog designed for a household fun center in Eugene.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of jobs that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental practices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the business has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to incorporate a some springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and also a tree - developed for Eugene traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche sector because travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but rather convey emotional experiences through the pictures they capture. The idea behind this logo composition was to make use of negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of the majority of professional photographers in that they oftentimes share entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be conveyed with mere words. I tried to do something much the same to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Eugene logo design but also to reveal the depth of her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Eugene logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of logo design projects that I take on I honestly enjoy and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A but my customer, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy genuinely despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family didn’t share his aversion for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge them to share it with colleagues and family members as well as with people that they don’t actually know so as to get unprejudiced judgements on the value of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his family and they really liked the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logo designs are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to create their business logo understand how vital a logo design is for their company so they are way more vested in the outcome. Every logo design job has it’s portion of difficulties, but the largest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Eugene publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow slice of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most important part of a published book given that it is usually the primary thing a person sees in the book shop. Regarding a publishing company, it’s the best opportunity that they will likely ever get to advertise their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars customized to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart yet it seems that in many cases 1 of the items people tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small fledgling commuter/shuttle airline company located in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their organization logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to affording a feeling of flight and it was undoubtedly a success.

Eugene logo style made use of for marketing and also a tag layout for Vintage Instance features an archaic typeface style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for musical instruments, that appeared to be antique cases. For this brand design I attempted to come up with a logo that offered a fluid vintage feel to it and could be utilized for every thing from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another era.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Eugene, style consist of an arc with lines intersecting via it to indicate steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logo designs can be one of the most difficult logo projects because it seems that each and every dentist features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to company marketing, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the exact same way dentists do every one of their logos would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would most likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I actually love doing dental logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family nonprofit, the logo includes 4 characters surprised in height to stand for a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the families in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be overly literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wishes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo design which communicated that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to explain how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that describes itself will never have the chance to be understood.

Logo design produced for a hair layout studio featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a company logo which related a spirit of relaxation and connection for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept which did not go the obvious route of designing just a stylized orchid but alternatively crafted a logo design that implied a flower in the formation of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the name and by placing emphasis on the concept with the figure of a hummingbird floating over the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is in most cases the wrong path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the focus on the emotion that they really wanted to transmit to their clients.

Logo layout for a software application developer the layout features as well as iconic component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and drive operations. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a bridge in between the software and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it intimated something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the significance behind a logo is equally as important as how it brands the business it stands for.

A logo layout including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly knew the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a spot to sell their secondhand equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Eugene logo dsign utilizing an image which garners the attention of traffic and sends an image that calls to mind the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo layout has a field included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo idea wasn’t actually developed for an Eugene regional farm it was actually created for an investments broker, and this company was one of many that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was to produce a brand mark that projected trust, effectiveness, and luxury.
Logo design developed for using an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font that is similar to a famous sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed quite a lot of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking in which I worked directly with the business owner to design a logo design that worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
