Hillsboro Logo Design

Every new Hillsboro organization knows they are in need of a logo, yet few entrepreneurs fully understand the key role their organization logo will take in their becoming successful, or the reason that one logo works better than another. A business logo has an instant and long term influence on the growth of a business, pick the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, select the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the life span of an organization. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Hillsboro businesses succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not demand consideration, they can be realized in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable business logo will continue to be legible and equally emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the business they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo must be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from today.

Retro logo layout of a bike developed for a Hillsboro coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffee bar were launching in an old section of the area and hoped to project a nostalgic tone without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I achieved both of these jobs by developing a business logo concept that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo layout with a microscope slide as well as germs developed for Hillsboro clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which studies the root causes and effects of diseases, especially the field of medicine that deals with the laboratory assessment of samplings of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I recall in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Normally I try not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents rather literally, but it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more interesting, more interest grabbing and even more unforgettable.

logo layout with a leaping environment-friendly frog created for a family members enjoyable facility in Hillsboro.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental professionals, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to feature a couple springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more dynamic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a group of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, and a tree - designed for Hillsboro traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche speciality due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture places or things but instead project emotional journeys by means of the pictures they capture. The idea behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of almost all good photographers in that they oftentimes share entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be communicated with just words. I attempted to do something the same to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Hillsboro logo design but also to show the depth in her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Hillsboro logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of business logo design jobs that I take on I honestly relish and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A but my customer, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular guy really hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his contempt for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage them to talk about it with friends and family members as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get impartial opinions on the worthiness of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they really liked the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logo designs are a strange creature in the design world because the people that tend to hire an expert to design their logo design understand how important a logo is for their organization so they are way more vested in the final result. Every logo job has it’s portion of hurdles, but the biggest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Hillsboro book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow piece of real estate to work with, but it really is the most crucial part of a printed book considering that it is in most cases the initial thing a person views in the book store. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the best opportunity they will likely ever get to promote their label and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches customized to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go yet it seems like that in many instances 1 of the items people usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller fledgling commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to imparting a spirit of air travel and it was definitely a victory.

Hillsboro logo layout used for marketing and a tag design for Vintage Instance features an old-fashioned font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for musical instruments, which appeared to be much older cases. For this brand design I strove to come up with a logo that had a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could easily be utilized for every thing from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another era.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Hillsboro, layout include an arc with lines converging with it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo projects considering that it seems that every dental professional includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business branding, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the same way dental practices do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would likely include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I really love doing dentistry logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a household nonprofit, the logo includes 4 characters startled in height to represent a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the folks in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be very literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization hopes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design which communicated that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to summarize exactly how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If people have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that illustrates itself will never have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo design created for a hair design workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a business logo which communicated an atmosphere of calmness and connection for their new hair salon. I created a concept which didn’t go the obvious course of designing just a stylized orchid but instead designed a business logo which implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl incorporated into the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the logo design with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is in most cases the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately put the attention on the feeling that they wanted to forecast to their clients.

Arabian horse logo layout developed for a steed cattle ranch that focuses on breeding Arabian show steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo design for a software program programmer the style features and renowned element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and hard drive managing. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a connection in between the software and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it intimated something to the business owner of the company and in many cases the symbolism supporting a logo design is equally as important as how it brands the business it stands for.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Hillsboro logo design job was carried out for a management guide that helps business leaders to become more successful at supervising people, expectations, and profitability.

A logo design including a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly recognized the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a place to sell their previously owned goods to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Hillsboro logo design dsign along with an image which garners the attention of traffic and projects an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo layout MQ farms, this logo layout has an area included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo concept wasn’t really composed for an Hillsboro area farm it was in reality devised for a commodities broker, and this logo design was one of several which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was really to make an identity that projects self-assurance, success, and opulence.
Logo design developed for making use of an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript typeface that is reminiscent of a popular sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted dozens of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project where I worked closely with the business owner to design a logo that worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
