Keizer Logo Design

Nearly every new Keizer organization knows they need a logo, but few new business owners thoroughly understand the essential role their business logo will take in their success, or why one logo design works more effectively than another. A company logo has an instant and lasting influence on the success of a company, go with the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, select the incorrect one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life of an organization. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Keizer companies succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t demand contemplation, they can be comprehended in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable business logo will be legible and equally emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a company logo must be lasting and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from now.

Retro logo design of a bicycle developed for a Keizer coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and bistro were opening up in an old section of town and really wanted to visualize a nostalgic atmosphere without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I achieved the two tasks via designing a company logo design that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo layout with a microscope slide as well as germs made for Keizer clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which researches the triggers and consequences of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine that works with the clinical assessment of samples of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the sole instance I recall in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Typically I try not to be excessively literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, but it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more intriguing, more interest grabbing and a lot more unforgettable.

logo design with a jumping environment-friendly frog created for a family members enjoyable facility in Keizer.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental professionals, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the business features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to incorporate a few springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a flock of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, and also a tree - designed for Keizer traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche profession due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture places or things but instead convey emotional journeys through the pictures they capture. The thought behind this logo concept was to use negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of most good photographers in that they often share whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be conveyed with just words. I tried to do something the same to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Keizer logo design but also to illustrate the depth in her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Keizer logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of logo design jobs that I take on I really savor and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A however the customer, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man seriously loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family did not share his contempt for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage them to talk about it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get impartial opinions on the benefit of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they really liked the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Business logos are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire an expert to create their logo realize how important a logo design is for their company so they are much more vested in the outcome. Every logo job has it’s share of challenges, however the biggest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Keizer book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow slice of real estate to work with, but it is the most critical part of a published book since it is usually the very first thing a person sees in the bookstore. With respect to a publisher, it’s the optimal opportunity they will likely ever get to advertise their brand and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart yet it looks like that in many occurrences 1 of the traits people often tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller new venture commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and although I’m not certain it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a sense of air travel and it was surely a victory.

Keizer logo layout used for advertising as well as a tag style for Vintage Case features an archaic typeface design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for musical instruments, which seemed to be older cases. For this brand concept I tried to come up with a logo that provided a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could easily be utilized for anything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from another point in time.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Keizer, layout include an arc with lines intersecting with it to imply steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logos can be one of the most challenging logo projects considering that it appears that each and every dentist integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business branding, if restaurants approached their branding in the very same way dental practitioners do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would most likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I really love doing dental logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and eventually I created a layout that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this concept over to the client the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 characters staggered in elevation to stand for a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wants to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to describe how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that describes itself won’t have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo style created for a hair style workshop including a script font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a business logo which communicated a sense of calmness and connection for their new hair salon. I created a design that did not go the obvious direction of making simply a stylized orchid but rather created a logo that implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl featured into the letter O in the name and by putting emphasis on the logo design using the figure of a hummingbird floating above the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is in most cases the wrong path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead laid the main focus on the feeling that they wanted to project to their clients.

Logo layout for a software program developer the design functions and also legendary aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and disk management. The kernel unites the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a connection between the software and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it symbolized something to the business owner of the company and in many cases the meaning supporting a business logo is just as important as how it serves the organization it stands for.

Progress logo style created for a Keizer interior developer, layout function a collection of red circles that intersect and change the letter O in the center of the logo layout.

logo design done for Advanced Leadership Solutions, the personalities for letter V as well as A in middle of words advanced have been changed to connect straight into the words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Keizer logo design project was undertaken for a leadership coach that enables business leaders to become more effective at supervising people, expectations, and productivity.

A logo style featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly recognized the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a spot to market their pre-owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Keizer logo dsign utilizing a graphic that garners the attention of vehicles and sends an image that wakens the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo style has an area included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo idea wasn’t actually created for an Keizer regional farm it was in reality developed for a products broker, and this particular creative logo was one of many that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was really to develop a brand mark that projects trust, financial success, and affluence.
Logo made for the use of an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script typeface that is reminiscent of a well-known sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created loads of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking in which I worked closely with the owner to produce a logo design which worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
