Lake Oswego Logo Design

Each and every new Lake Oswego company understands that they require a logo, however few entrepreneurs thoroughly understand the crucial role their business logo can make in their becoming successful, or exactly why one logo design performs far better than another. A logo design has an immediate and long-term influence on the prosperity of a business, pick the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the wrong one and it can be a barrier and a hindrance for the longevity of a business. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Lake Oswego businesses prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand consideration, they can be understood in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo will be legible and equally emotive at virtually any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo design should be lasting and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from today.

Retro logo style of a bike developed for a Lake Oswego coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and bistro were actually opening in an old part of the city and wanted to project a nostalgic feel without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I accomplished each of the tasks by means of developing a trademark concept that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscope slide and also germs made for Lake Oswego medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which analyzes the triggers and outcomes of diseases, especially the branch of medicine which works with the clinical assessment of samplings of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the only instance I remember in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Normally I try not to be overly literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, but it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more appealing, more attention grabbing and even more memorable.

logo style with a leaping environment-friendly frog designed for a household enjoyable facility in Lake Oswego.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental practices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to incorporate a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not actually reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a better enthusiastic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and also a tree - made for Lake Oswego traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty niche field of photography and I think it is a niche profession because travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but rather reveal emotional journeys by means of the images they record. The idea behind this logo concept was to utilize negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of almost all good photographers in that they oftentimes tell entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be communicated with mere words. I attempted to do something similar to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Lake Oswego logo but also to reveal the depth to her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Lake Oswego logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design jobs that I take on I seriously relish and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A however my customer, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man really hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family did not share his contempt for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage them to talk about it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get unbiased viewpoints on the value of a concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family and they loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logo designs are a strange creature in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to create their business logo realize how important a logo is for their business so they are much more invested in the end result. Every logo design project has it’s allotment of difficulties, but the biggest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, layout for Lake Oswego book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped segment of real estate to work with, however it is the most critical part of a printed book since it is in most cases the initial thing a person sees in the book store. With respect to a publisher, it’s the best opportunity they will likely ever have to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the people that buy actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart however it looks like that in many occurrences one of the aspects individuals usually tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young start-up commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and although I’m not certain it actually “took off” their business logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a sense of flight and it was surely a success.

Lake Oswego logo layout used for advertising and marketing and a label design for Vintage Case features an old font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for musical instruments, that looked to be vintage cases. For this custom logo design I attempted to come up with a logo that had a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could be used for every thing from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another point in time.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Lake Oswego, layout consist of an arc with lines intersecting through it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo projects because it appears that each and every dental professional includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to company branding, if restaurants approached their branding in the exact same way dental offices do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would probably contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I actually love doing dentistry business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and ultimately I created a concept that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a household nonprofit, the logo features 4 characters startled in elevation to represent a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the folks in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be very literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wants to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a logo which conveyed that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to describe exactly how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If viewers have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that explains itself will never have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo design produced for a hair design studio featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a company logo which conveyed a spirit of tranquility and connection for their new hair studio. I created a concept that didn’t go the obvious path of crafting simply a stylized orchid but rather crafted a logo which suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl featured into the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the logo design using the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the image itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is frequently the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately put the emphasis on the perception that they really wanted to transmit to their clients.

Arabian steed logo design created for a steed ranch that specializes in reproducing Arabian program equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo designed a one-of-a-kind organization logo design fashioned to symbolize the unique physical traits of the Arabian kind of horses. With a different head shape and high tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the very most quite easily recognizable horse breeds in the entire world.

Logo layout for a software program developer the style functions and famous aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and drive operations. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a bridge in between the software and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it intimated something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the meaning supporting a logo design is equally as important as how it brands the company it stands for.

A logo layout featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly recognized the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a spot to market their secondhand goods to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Lake Oswego business logo dsign utilizing an illustration which garners the interest of traffic and sends an image that arouses the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo design has actually a field incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo idea wasn’t actually developed for an Lake Oswego area farm it was in reality developed for a products broker, and this company was one of multiple that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was actually to produce a graphic that projected self-assurance, effectiveness, and prosperity.
Logo created for making use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script typeface that is reminiscent of a well-known sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed loads of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project in which I worked closely with the proprietor to design a logo design which worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
