McMinnville, Oregon Logo Design

Virtually every new McMinnville company understands that they require a logo, however few new business owners entirely realize the key role their organization’s logo will make in their becoming successful, or the reason that one business logo functions far better than another. A logo has an instant and sustaining impact on the viability of a company, choose the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, go with the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the life span of a business.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help McMinnville, Oregon companies prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these five things in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t demand consideration, they can be comprehended in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to movie screens a scalable logo will be legible and equally emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos which function on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo must be timeless and will feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from today.
Retro logo style of a bicycle developed for a McMinnville, Oregon coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and bistro were actually opening in an older section of the city and really wanted to cast a nostalgic tone without appearing as uninteresting or low energy. I fulfilled the two jobs by developing a symbol design that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and germs created for McMinnville, Oregon medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which analyzes the causes and effects of diseases, mainly the field of medicine which works with the clinical examination of specimens of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the sole instance I recollect where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be overly literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, however it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more interesting, more focus grabbing and a lot more memorable.

logo design with a leaping eco-friendly frog created for a family members enjoyable center in McMinnville, Oregon.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the types of projects that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental offices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the company has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to incorporate a couple of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a much more lively high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they utilized for promotion and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - designed for McMinnville, Oregon travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche profession because travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but instead project emotional journeys by means of the images they record. The idea behind this logo design was to use negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of almost all good photographers in that they oftentimes share whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be communicated with mere words. I made an effort to do something very similar to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  McMinnville logo design but also to show the depth to her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

McMinnville logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design jobs that I take on I really relish and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A but the customer, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy really loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his scorn for this specific kind of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage all of them to talk about it with friends and family as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get unbiased viewpoints on the value of a design concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his whole family and they really liked the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logos are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that tend to hire an expert to design their business logo understand how vital a logo is for their business so they are way more vested in the result. Every logo design job possesses it’s allotment of obstacles, but the most significant obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, style for McMinnville, Oregon publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender slice of real estate to work with, but it is the most critical part of a published book due to the fact that it is often the first thing a person sees in the book shop. Regarding a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will ever have to spotlight their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that buy actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars modified to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart but it seems that in many instances one of the things individuals tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small start-up commuter/shuttle airline company based in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to affording a sense of airline flight and it was undoubtedly a victory.

McMinnville logo style used for advertising and a tag style for Vintage Situation features an old typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for musical instruments, which appeared to be antique cases. For this logo concept I attempted to come up with a logo that had a fluid old style feel to it and could be utilized for everything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different era.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in McMinnville, Oregon, style consist of an arc with lines converging via it to indicate steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can be one of the most challenging logo projects considering that it appears that each and every dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business branding, if restaurants approached their branding in the very same way dentists do every one of their company logos would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would probably contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I really love doing dentistry logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and inevitably I created a design that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo made for a family members not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 personalities startled in height to represent a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the residents in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization hopes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo which communicated that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to summarize precisely how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If people have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that explains itself won’t have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo design developed for a hair style workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a business logo that related a feeling of tranquility and connection for their new hair studio. I came up with a design which did not go the obvious path of making simply a stylized orchid but rather designed a logo design which implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the logo design using the figure of a hummingbird hovering over the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is in most cases the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately laid the emphasis on the emotion that they wanted to project to their patrons.

Logo style for a software application developer the design functions and renowned element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and hard drive management. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a connection in between the software program and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it intimated something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the meaning behind a logo is just as important as how it serves the enterprise it stands for.

A logo style featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly recognized the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a place to market their previously owned items to other sports enthusiasts. I created their McMinnville business logo dsign along with an image which garners the interest of vehicles and projects an image that arouses the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo design has a field incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo idea wasn’t really created for an McMinnville, Oregon area farm it was in reality created for a commodities broker, and this particular logo design was one of several which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was to create a brand mark that projected self-confidence, effectiveness, and affluence.

McMinnville Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo style feature for externally dealing with arrow and also the arrowheads indicate that it is a ruby shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what type of logo design that they wanted, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it grants a designer the freedom to investigate any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye in the absence of understanding where the target is. Thankfully, in this particular case, I struck a bullseye with the 1st try.

Logo made for making use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font style that is evocative a renowned sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created dozens of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project in which I worked closely with the owner to produce a logo that worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
