Medford, Oregon Logo Design

Virtually every new Medford organization realizes that they require a logo, however few entrepreneurs entirely recognize the pivotal role their company logo can play in their success, or exactly why one logo functions far better than another. A company logo has a critical and sustaining effect on the growth of a company, choose the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, go with the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the longevity of a business.

The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Medford, Oregon companies succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these five traits in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand scrutiny, they can be grasped in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo will stay legible and equally emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo must be ageless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from today.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo design of a bike created for a Medford, Oregon coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffeehouse were actually opening in an old section of the city and hoped to visualize a nostalgic atmosphere without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I achieved the two tasks by designing a symbol concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo design with a microscope slide and germs developed for Medford, Oregon clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that examines the root causes and effects of diseases, mainly the field of medicine that works with the laboratory examination of samples of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the only instance I recall in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be excessively literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, yet it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more interesting, more interest grabbing and a lot more meaningful.

logo layout with a jumping green frog created for a family fun center in Medford, Oregon.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental professionals, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to feature a couple of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a better dynamic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, and a tree - designed for Medford, Oregon traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche sector because travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but rather project emotional journeys by means of the pictures they record. The thought behind this logo concept was to use negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of almost all professional photographers in that they oftentimes share entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be communicated with mere words. I attempted to do something much the same to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Medford logo but also to reveal the depth in her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Medford logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of logo design jobs that I take on I honestly take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A however the customer, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular guy genuinely hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family didn’t share his contempt for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage them to share it with friends and family members as well as with people that they don’t actually know so as to get unprejudiced opinions on the merit of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they really loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logos are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that tend to hire an expert to create their logo comprehend how essential a logo is for their business so they are way more vested in the result. Every logo design project possesses it’s portion of obstacles, however the greatest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, design for Medford, Oregon book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin segment of real estate to work with, however it really is the most essential part of a printed book due to the fact that it is often the very first thing a person sees in the bookstore. For a publishing company, it’s the optimal opportunity that they will likely ever get to promote their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with the bars changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart however it looks like that in many instances one of the traits individuals often tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller new venture commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and although I’m not certain it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to confering a sense of airline flight and it was surely a winner.

Medford logo style made use of for advertising as well as a tag design for Vintage Case features an antiquated typeface design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for musical instruments, which looked to be antique cases. For this logo concept I attempted to come up with a logo that offered a fluid retro feel to it and could be used for everything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different generation.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Medford, Oregon, style include an arc with lines converging via it to suggest steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can easily be one of the most challenging logo design projects considering that it appears that every dental professional integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business branding, if dining establishments approached their branding in the same way dental professionals do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I actually enjoy doing dental care business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and eventually I created a concept that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a family members not-for-profit, the logo features 4 characters surprised in height to represent a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the residents in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wants to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo which conveyed that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to explain exactly how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that explains itself won’t have the chance to be understood.

Logo style produced for a hair style studio featuring a script font a hummingbird and also an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo that projected a sense of tranquility and connection for their new hair salon. I created a concept which didn’t go the obvious path of creating simply a stylized orchid but rather created a business logo which implied a flower in the formation of a swirl blended into the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the logo design using the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is in most cases the wrong course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead placed the attention on the perception that they really wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Arabian equine logo layout created for a steed cattle ranch that specializes in reproducing Arabian show equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Las Coffee shop logo style a little dining establishment, layout contains a changed manuscript font style which floats over a group of ornate lines and also dots.

Logo design for a software program designer the style features as well as renowned aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and hard drive operations. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a connection in between the software and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it meant something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the symbolism supporting a company logo is just as important as how it brands the business it stands for.

A logo design including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly realized the market was primed for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a spot to market their used goods to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Medford business logo dsign along with a graphic that pulls in the interest of traffic and sends an image that arouses the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo style has actually an area incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand design wasn’t really produced for an Medford, Oregon area farm it was in reality designed for an investments broker, and this business logo was one of several which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was actually to design an identity that projected self-confidence, effectiveness, and prosperity.

Medford Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo design attribute for ostensibly facing arrow and also the arrowheads suggest that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what kind of logo design they wanted, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the liberty to explore any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye without understanding where the target is. Fortunately, in this case, I hit a bullseye with the first try.

Logo design developed for using a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript typeface that is evocative a popular sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed loads of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project where I worked directly with the business owner to design a business logo that worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
