Milwaukie Logo Design

Virtually every new Milwaukie business realizes that they require a logo, yet few entrepreneurs fully recognize the essential role their business logo will make in their financial success, or exactly why one logo design works more effectively than another. A business logo has an instant and long term impact on the success of a company, go with the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, select the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the longevity of a company. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Milwaukie businesses succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not require scrutiny, they can be understood in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable business logo will continue to be legible and just as emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo should be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from now.

Retro logo design of a bike produced for a Milwaukie coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and bistro were opening in an older section of the town and hoped to visualize an old-fashioned vibe without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I fulfilled the two jobs by developing a company logo concept that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo design with a microscopic lense slide as well as germs made for Milwaukie medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which investigates the triggers and effects of diseases, especially the field of medicine which deals with the clinical assessment of specimens of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the sole instance I remember in which I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents rather literally, however it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more intriguing, more attention grabbing and even more memorable.

logo design with a leaping green frog made for a family enjoyable center in Milwaukie.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of jobs that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental professionals, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to incorporate a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a better enthusiastic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for promotion and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a flock of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, and a tree - created for Milwaukie traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality because travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but instead reveal emotional journeys through the pictures they capture. The thought behind this logo composition was to use negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of almost all good photographers in that they oftentimes convey entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be revealed with mere words. I tried to do something the same to this logo by using the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Milwaukie logo design but also to illustrate the depth in her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Milwaukie logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of logo design jobs that I take on I seriously savor and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A but the client, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular guy seriously hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family members did not share his contempt for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage them to discuss it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get honest point of views on the merit of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his family and they loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logos are a weird creature in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to create their logo recognize how vital a logo design is for their business so they are much more vested in the final result. Every logo project has it’s allotment of hurdles, but the greatest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, layout for Milwaukie book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow piece of real estate to work with, however it is the most necessary part of a published book due to the fact that it is often the first thing a person views in the book store. With respect to a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will likely ever have to spotlight their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars modified to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart however it seems that in many instances 1 of the things individuals often tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller start-up commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to imparting a sense of flight and it was certainly a victory.

Milwaukie logo layout utilized for advertising and marketing and also a label layout for Vintage Case includes an old font style design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for musical instruments, which seemed to be much older cases. For this business logo concept I attempted to come up with a logo that had a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could be utilized for everything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another point in time.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Milwaukie, style consist of an arc with lines intersecting through it to indicate steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design projects because it appears that every dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company branding, if restaurants approached their advertising in the same way dentists do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would probably include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I actually love doing dental business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a design that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a family nonprofit, the logo features 4 personalities surprised in height to represent a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution hopes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a logo which conveyed that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The intention of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to summarize precisely how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If viewers have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that illustrates itself won’t have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo style developed for a hair design studio featuring a script font a hummingbird and also an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo design which related an atmosphere of simplicity and elegance for their new hair salon. I came up with a design that didn’t go the obvious route of crafting simply a stylized orchid but rather designed a business logo which suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the concept with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is oftentimes the wrong path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately placed the focus on the feeling that they wanted to forecast to their patrons.

Logo design for a software developer the style features as well as legendary element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and hard drive managing. The kernel connects the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a bridge between the software and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it symbolized something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the significance behind a logo design is just as important as how it serves the enterprise it represents.

A logo design including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly understood the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a spot to sell their previously owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Milwaukie logo dsign utilizing a graphic that garners the interest of traffic and projects an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo style has actually an area incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem concept wasn’t really composed for an Milwaukie regional farm it was really designed for an investments broker, and this particular creative logo was one of multiple that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was to make a image that projected assurance, effectiveness, and prosperity.
Logo design made for making use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font style that is reminiscent of a famous sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed dozens of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking where I worked closely with the business owner to develop a logo which worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
