Oro Valley Logo Design

Virtually every new Oro Valley venture realizes that they require a logo, however few new business owners thoroughly comprehend the key role their logo will take in their becoming successful, or precisely why one logo design performs more effectively than another. A logo has an immediate and lasting effect on the financial success of a company, choose the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the incorrect one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life span of an organization. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Oro Valley companies prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require scrutiny, they can be grasped in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable business logo will be legible and equally emotive at virtually any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo must be ageless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from today.

Retro logo design of a bicycle developed for a Oro Valley coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffee shop were actually opening up in an old part of the city and hoped to project a nostalgic atmosphere without appearing as boring or low energy. I fulfilled the two jobs by designing a sign design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscope slide and bacteria designed for Oro Valley medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that analyzes the triggers and effects of diseases, especially the field of healthcare that works with the laboratory assessment of specimens of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the only instance I recall in which I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be overly literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, yet it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more captivating, more focus grabbing and a lot more meaningful.

logo design with a jumping green frog designed for a family fun facility in Oro Valley.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the types of projects that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental offices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the company has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to include a few springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a better dynamic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a group of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, as well as a tree - designed for Oro Valley travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I think it is a niche sector due to the fact that travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but rather convey emotional experiences by means of the photos they capture. The thought behind this logo design was to make use of negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of most professional photographers in that they often convey whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be communicated with mere words. I made an effort to do something the same to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Oro Valley logo but also to reveal the depth to her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Oro Valley logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of logo design jobs that I take on I seriously enjoy and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A but the customer, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This man seriously hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family didn’t share his scorn for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage them to share it with friends and family as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get unprejudiced point of views on the merit of a design. Fortunately, he discussed it with his whole family and they adored the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logos are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to create their business logo recognize how crucial a logo is for their company so they are way more invested in the result. Every logo project has it’s share of difficulties, however the largest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, style for Oro Valley publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin piece of real estate to work with, however it really is the most important part of a printed book considering that it is in most cases the very first thing a person sees in the book shop. For a publisher, it’s the most ideal opportunity they will ever get to spotlight their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that buy actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart yet it seems that in many occurrences one of the things consumers often tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller startup commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and although I’m not sure it actually “took off” their organization logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to conferring a feeling of airline flight and it was undoubtedly a victory.

Oro Valley logo design made use of for advertising as well as a tag style for Vintage Case includes an old font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand-new cases for music instruments, that seemed to be older cases. For this business logo design I sought to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid vintage feel to it and could be utilized for everything from a web site to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different point in time.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Oro Valley, layout consist of an arc with lines converging via it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can be one of the most difficult logo projects because it appears that each and every dentist features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business branding, if dining establishments approached their branding in the very same way dental practices do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I really enjoy doing dental care logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and inevitably I created a concept that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a family members nonprofit, the logo includes 4 characters surprised in elevation to represent a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be overly literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution hopes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to describe precisely how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If people have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that explains itself won’t have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo layout created for a hair style workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a company logo that carried a sense of tranquility and elegance for their new hair salon. I created a concept that didn’t go the obvious direction of designing merely a stylized orchid but alternatively designed a logo which suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the name and by putting emphasis on the logo design using the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is generally the wrong course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately laid the attention on the perception that they wanted to forecast to their clients.

Logo design for a software programmer the design attributes and renowned component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and disk operations. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a bridge in between the software and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it symbolized something to the owner of the company and in many cases the substance behind a logo is equally as important as how it serves the company it represents.

A logo style featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly knew the market was ready for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a location to sell their used products to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Oro Valley logo design dsign utilizing a graphic that garners the attention of vehicles and projects an image that wakens the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo style has an area integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo concept wasn’t really designed for an Oro Valley area farm it was in reality developed for a commodities broker, and this brand was one of many that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was really to produce a image that projected self-confidence, success, and opulence.
Logo designed for the use of an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script typeface that is reminiscent of a renowned sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created quite a lot of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking where I worked closely with the business owner to design a business logo which worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
