Pennsylvania Logo Design

Nearly every new Pennsylvania business knows they require a logo, but few new business owners fully grasp the vital role their logo can perform in their financial success, or exactly why one business logo functions more effectively than another. A logo has an immediate and long-term impact on the success of a company, go with the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, select the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the life of a company.

The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Pennsylvania  companies succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require consideration, they can be comprehended in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable business logo will be legible and equally emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo should be timeless and should feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from today.
Retro logo style of a bike created for a Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually launching in an old section of the community and hoped to project a vintage vibe without appearing as boring or low energy. I accomplished both tasks via designing a company logo design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

medical logo layout with a microscope slide and germs designed for Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that analyzes the triggers and effects of diseases, mainly the field of medicine which works with the laboratory examination of specimens of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the only instance I call to mind where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be overly literal with a concept and to a point, this design approaches the company it serves rather literally, yet it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more interesting, more attention grabbing and a lot more memorable.

logo layout with a leaping environment-friendly frog made for a household fun facility in Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the types of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental experts, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the business features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to feature a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a better lively high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a flock of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, and also a tree - created for Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I think it is a niche profession due to the fact that travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but rather project emotional experiences through the images they record. The idea behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of almost all good photographers in that they often convey entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be revealed with just words. I tried to do something similar to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Pennsylvania logo design but also to illustrate the depth of her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Pennsylvania logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design projects that I take on I truly take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A but the client, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy really loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his hatred for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge them to discuss it with colleagues and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get honest opinions on the merit of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire a professional to design their logo recognize how important a logo design is for their business so they are way more vested in the end result. Every logo design job possesses it’s allotment of obstacles, but the largest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, layout for Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow parcel of real estate to work with, nevertheless it really is the most essential part of a printed book since it is often the very first thing a person views in the book shop. Concerning a publishing company, it’s the opportunity they will likely ever get to spotlight their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars customized to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart however it looks like that in many instances 1 of the traits people tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small start-up commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and although I’m not sure it actually “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a good sense of airline flight and it was certainly a victory.

Pennsylvania logo style utilized for advertising and marketing as well as a tag layout for Vintage Instance features an antiquated font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for music instruments, which seemed to be antique cases. For this custom logo design I sought to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be used for every thing from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another point in time.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania, design consist of an arc with lines converging via it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry business logos can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo projects considering that it seems that every dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company advertising, if restaurants approached their advertising in the very same way dental offices do every one of their logo designs would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would most likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I really love doing dentistry logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a layout that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a household nonprofit, the logo design features 4 personalities staggered in elevation to represent a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wants to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The aim of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to explain how people should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo that illustrates itself won’t have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo style created for a hair style studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird and an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a logo design which conveyed a feeling of relaxation and elegance for their new hair studio. I came up with a design that did not go the obvious direction of creating simply a stylized orchid but instead designed a business logo which implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the logo design using the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the image itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is in most cases the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the importance on the feeling that they wanted to transmit to their customers.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo layout for a software program developer the style attributes as well as renowned component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and drive management. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a connection in between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it meant something to the owner of the company and in many cases the substance supporting a company logo is just as important as how it brands the enterprise it stands for.

A logo layout including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly recognized the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a place to market their used items to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Pennsylvania business logo dsign along with an image which garners the interest of vehicles and projects an image that calls to mind the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo layout has a field integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem concept wasn’t really composed for an Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania area farm it was really designed for a products broker, and this logo design was one of several that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was really to create a brand mark that projects assurance, effectiveness, and affluence.

Pennsylvania Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo layout attribute for externally facing arrow as well as the arrowheads imply that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what kind of logo design that they preferred, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the flexibility to investigate any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s hard to hit a bullseye in the absence of knowing where the target is. Thankfully, in this particular instance, I struck a bullseye with the 1st shot.

Logo created for making use of a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font that is similar to a famous sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created loads of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project in which I worked closely with the proprietor to produce a logo design which worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
