Baldwin Logo Design

Virtually every new Baldwin business knows they need a logo, but few new business owners entirely recognize the key role their logo design can make in their financial success, or precisely why one business logo performs better than another. A logo design has a critical and sustaining influence on the growth of a company, go with the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, select the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the life of a business. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Baldwin companies prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not demand deliberation, they can be grasped in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo design will continue to be legible and just as emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo must be lasting and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from today.

Retro logo design of a bicycle created for a Baldwin coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and bistro were actually opening up in an old part of the town and wanted to visualize a nostalgic tone without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I fulfilled both jobs by means of designing a company logo design that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscope slide as well as bacteria created for Baldwin clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which studies the causes and effects of diseases, especially the field of healthcare that works with the laboratory evaluation of samples of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I recall where I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Typically I attempt not to be overly literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves very literally, however it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more appealing, more interest grabbing and much more meaningful.

logo layout with a jumping eco-friendly frog created for a family enjoyable center in Baldwin.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental practices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to include a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a more enthusiastic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design including a group of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - created for Baldwin traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche field due to the fact that travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but rather project emotional journeys by means of the pictures they record. The idea behind this logo concept was to use negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of almost all professional photographers in that they frequently share entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be conveyed with mere words. I tried to do something very similar to this logo by using the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Baldwin logo but also to show the depth in her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Baldwin logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design jobs that I take on I genuinely savor and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A but my customer, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man really disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members did not share his hatred for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge all of them to discuss it with friends and family as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get unbiased viewpoints on the benefit of a concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family and they really loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a strange creature in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire an expert to create their logo understand how essential a logo is for their organization so they are much more vested in the outcome. Every logo job has it’s portion of challenges, but the biggest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Baldwin publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped piece of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most essential part of a published book considering that it is in most cases the initial thing a person views in the bookstore. With respect to a publisher, it’s the best opportunity that they will ever get to advertise their label and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches changed to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go however it looks like that in many occurrences 1 of the items people often tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller startup commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a spirit of flight and it was undoubtedly a victory.

Baldwin logo style made use of for marketing and also a tag layout for Vintage Situation features an old-fashioned font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand new cases for music instruments, which seemed to be vintage cases. For this logo design I sought to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be utilized for anything from a web site to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different era.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Baldwin, design consist of an arc with lines intersecting with it to suggest metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can be one of the most difficult logo design projects because it appears that almost every dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business advertising, if restaurants approached their advertising in the exact same way dental practices do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would most likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really love doing dental business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and eventually I created a concept that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a family members not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 characters staggered in elevation to stand for a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wants to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a logo which communicated that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to describe exactly how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If you have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that explains itself won’t have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo layout produced for a hair style studio featuring a script font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a company logo which carried an atmosphere of relaxation and connection for their new hair studio. I created a design which did not go the obvious path of making just a stylized orchid but alternatively created a logo that implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the logo design along with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the image itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is usually the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the attention on the feeling that they really wanted to forecast to their customers.

Logo design for a software program programmer the design attributes as well as renowned element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and disk managing. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a connection in between the software and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it meant something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the significance behind a logo is equally as important as how it brands the organization it stands for.

A logo design including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly knew the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a location to sell their previously owned goods to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Baldwin logo dsign along with an illustration which captures the attention of vehicles and projects an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo layout has a field incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo design wasn’t really composed for an Baldwin regional farm it was in reality created for a products broker, and this logo was one of several that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was to design a graphic that projected self-confidence, effectiveness, and prosperity.
Logo design developed for using an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font that is reminiscent of a well-known sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created loads of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking where I worked closely with the owner to develop a logo which worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
