Hermitage Logo Design

Every new Hermitage organization realizes that they require a logo, yet few entrepreneurs thoroughly are aware of the pivotal role their logo will take in their becoming successful, or the reason that one logo design functions more effectively than another. A logo design has an immediate and sustaining impact on the prosperity of a business, go with the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, select the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life span of an organization. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Hermitage businesses prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not demand deliberation, they can be comprehended in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo will continue to be legible and just as emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo must be lasting and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from now.

Retro logo style of a bicycle created for a Hermitage coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee shop were actually opening in an old section of town and hoped to cast a nostalgic feel without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I fulfilled the two tasks via developing a symbol concept that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo style with a microscopic lense slide and germs developed for Hermitage clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that investigates the root causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare that deals with the clinical evaluation of samplings of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the sole instance I recall in which I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Normally I try not to be excessively literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents quite literally, yet it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more interesting, more attention grabbing and even more memorable.

logo style with a leaping environment-friendly frog designed for a household fun facility in Hermitage.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the usual of the types of jobs that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental offices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the company has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to integrate a few springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a much more lively high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I created was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a group of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and also a tree - designed for Hermitage traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche sector because travel photographers don’t capture places or things but instead convey emotional journeys through the pictures they capture. The idea behind this logo design was to make use of negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of the majority of good photographers in that they often tell whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be conveyed with just words. I tried to do something the same to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Hermitage logo design but also to illustrate the depth to her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Hermitage logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of business logo design projects that I take on I really enjoy and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A but my client, while he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy really despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his aversion for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage them to talk about it with colleagues and family members as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get objective point of views on the worthiness of a concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his whole family and they really loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Business logos are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to design their logo comprehend how essential a logo design is for their business so they are much more vested in the result. Every logo design job possesses it’s share of difficulties, but the most significant challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, design for Hermitage book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow piece of real estate to work with, however it is the most crucial part of a published book given that it is often the initial thing a person views in the book store. Concerning a publishing company, it’s the best opportunity they will ever get to advertise their product and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design designed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with the bars customized to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart however it looks like that in many cases 1 of the things consumers usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small startup commuter/shuttle airline company located in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to imparting a sense of airline flight and it was certainly a winner.

Hermitage logo style made use of for advertising and a label design for Vintage Instance includes an antiquated font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in new cases for musical instruments, which looked to be much older cases. For this logo design I sought to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be used for everything from a website to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different era.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Hermitage, layout include an arc with lines intersecting with it to imply metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can easily be one of the most difficult logo projects considering that it seems that virtually every dental professional integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business branding, if restaurants approached their branding in the exact same way dentists do every one of their logos would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would most likely have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I actually love doing dental business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was evident was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo designed for a family not-for-profit, the logo design features 4 personalities startled in elevation to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the families in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wishes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The intention of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to describe specifically how people should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If viewers have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that illustrates itself will never have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo style produced for a hair layout workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a business logo which communicated a feeling of peace and connection for their new hair studio. I created a concept which didn’t go the obvious path of making just a stylized orchid but instead crafted a logo which suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl featured into the letter O in the name and by putting emphasis on the concept using the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is more often than not the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead laid the importance on the emotion that they wanted to transmit to their clients.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo design a little dining establishment, design contains a changed manuscript typeface which floats over a group of luxuriant lines as well as dots.

Logo layout for a software program programmer the style features and renowned element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and drive operations. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection in between the software and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it represented something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the symbolism behind a logo design is just as important as how it serves the business it stands for.

Evolve logo design developed for a Hermitage indoor developer, layout attribute a series of red circles that converge as well as change the letter O in the middle of the logo design.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Hermitage logo design job was completed for a leadership advisor that helps business professionals to become more effective at handling people, expectations, and productivity.

A logo style including a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly knew the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a spot to sell off their used goods to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Hermitage logo design dsign along with an image which captures the attention of traffic and projects an image that calls to mind the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo style has a field integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo design wasn’t actually developed for an Hermitage regional farm it was actually devised for a commodities broker, and this logo design was one of several that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was to create a brand mark that projects confidence, effectiveness, and opulence.
Logo design created for using an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font style that is reminiscent of a popular sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed quite a lot of restaurant custom logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking in which I worked directly with the proprietor to develop a business logo that worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
