Rhode Island Logo Design

Virtually every new Rhode Island organization understands that they require a logo, but few new business owners fully recognize the pivotal role their logo will perform in their success, or the reason that one business logo functions better than another. A logo has an immediate and sustaining effect on the viability of a business, select the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, choose the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the life of a company.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Rhode Island  businesses succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these five things in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not require consideration, they can be comprehended in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo will stay legible and equally emotive at any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the business they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo needs to be enduring and will feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from today.
Retro logo style of a bike developed for a Rhode Island, Rhode Island coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and cafe were opening in an old section of the area and hoped to project an old-fashioned vibe without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I achieved each of the tasks by means of designing a sign design that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo design with a microscopic lense slide and germs created for Rhode Island, Rhode Island medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that analyzes the root causes and outcomes of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare that works with the laboratory evaluation of samplings of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the only instance I call to mind in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be excessively literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves very literally, however it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more interesting, more focus grabbing and even more unforgettable.

logo style with a jumping green frog created for a household fun facility in Rhode Island, Rhode Island.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental practices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the company has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to incorporate a few springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a better dynamic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I created was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, as well as a tree - designed for Rhode Island, Rhode Island travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty niche field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture places or things but instead project emotional journeys through the photos they record. The idea behind this logo design was to use negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of the majority of professional photographers in that they frequently tell entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance which can’t be conveyed with just words. I tried to do something much the same to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Rhode Island logo design but also to reveal the depth to her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Rhode Island logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of custom logo design jobs that I take on I honestly take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A however the client, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy seriously despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family didn’t share his scorn for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I encourage all of them to share it with colleagues and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get honest judgements on the merit of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his family and they adored the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logo designs are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire an expert to design their business logo realize how essential a logo design is for their business so they are much more invested in the end result. Every logo design job has it’s share of challenges, but the largest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Rhode Island, Rhode Island publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped parcel of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most necessary part of a published book due to the fact that it is usually the first thing a person sees in the book store. Concerning a publisher, it’s the opportunity that they will ever get to promote their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches customized to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go nevertheless it looks like that in many occurrences 1 of the traits people tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young start-up commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a good sense of flight and it was definitely a success.

Rhode Island logo style utilized for advertising and also a tag layout for Vintage Instance includes an antiquated font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in all new cases for musical instruments, that appeared to be older cases. For this custom logo design I sought to come up with a logo that provided a fluid vintage feel to it and could easily be used for every thing from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from another generation.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Rhode Island, Rhode Island, design include an arc with lines converging with it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can easily be one of the most difficult logo design projects considering that it seems that each and every dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company advertising, if dining establishments approached their branding in the very same way dental practices do every one of their logo designs would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would probably contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I really love doing dental care logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and inevitably I created a design that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was evident was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 personalities startled in elevation to represent a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the people residing in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution hopes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a logo design which communicated that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to summarize how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If you have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that illustrates itself won’t have the chance to be understood.

Logo layout produced for a hair design studio featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo that conveyed a sense of ease and connection for their new hair studio. I came up with a design that did not go the obvious path of making simply a stylized orchid but instead crafted a logo design that suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the logo design along with the figure of a hummingbird hovering over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is usually the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead laid the attention on the perception that they wanted to transmit to their clients.

Logo style for a software application designer the design functions and also iconic aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and disk operations. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a connection in between the software program and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it meant something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the significance supporting a company logo is just as important as how it serves the company it stands for.

A logo layout including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly recognized the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a location to market their previously owned goods to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Rhode Island logo dsign with an image which garners the attention of vehicles and projects an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo style has a field integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo idea wasn’t really produced for an Rhode Island, Rhode Island area farm it was in reality designed for an investments broker, and this business logo was one of several which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. Rhode Island Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo style function for outwardly dealing with arrow as well as the arrowheads suggest that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what kind of logo design they preferred, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the opportunity to delve into any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye without realizing where the target is. Fortunately, in this instance, I struck a bullseye with the very first try.

Logo designed for the use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font that is evocative a popular sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed quite a lot of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking where I worked directly with the proprietor to create a business logo which worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
