Cranston, Rhode Island Logo Design

Each and every new Cranston business realizes that they need a logo, but few new business owners thoroughly grasp the key role their logo can perform in their success, or precisely why one business logo works more effectively than another. A company logo has a critical and long term effect on the success of a business, go with the correct one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the incorrect one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the life span of a company.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Cranston, Rhode Island companies succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these five traits in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t demand consideration, they can be grasped in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable business logo will continue to be legible and equally emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the organization they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo needs to be lasting and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from today.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo design of a bike produced for a Cranston, Rhode Island coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffeehouse were actually opening up in an older part of town and really wanted to visualize an old-fashioned vibe without appearing as uninteresting or low energy. I accomplished the two jobs by creating a trademark design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo style with a microscopic lense slide and also bacteria developed for Cranston, Rhode Island clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that investigates the causes and effects of diseases, mainly the field of medicine which deals with the clinical evaluation of samplings of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the only instance I call to mind where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Usually I try not to be overly literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves rather literally, yet it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more interesting, more interest grabbing and a lot more meaningful.

logo layout with a jumping environment-friendly frog created for a household fun center in Cranston, Rhode Island.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of jobs that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental practices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the business features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to incorporate a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a better dynamic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design including a group of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, and also a tree - created for Cranston, Rhode Island traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche speciality because travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but rather communicate emotional journeys by means of the photos they capture. The idea behind this logo concept was to use negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of almost all professional photographers in that they oftentimes convey whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be conveyed with just words. I tried to do something the same to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Cranston logo design but also to reveal the depth in her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Cranston logo layout with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of custom logo design jobs that I take on I genuinely take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A however the client, while he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular guy really despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family did not share his scorn for this specific kind of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage them to discuss it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get unprejudiced viewpoints on the merit of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they really loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logos are a strange creature in the design world because the people that tend to hire a professional to create their business logo recognize how vital a logo is for their company so they are way more vested in the outcome. Every logo design job possesses it’s portion of challenges, however the largest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Cranston, Rhode Island book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin piece of real estate to work with, but it is the most important part of a published book considering that it is often the very first thing a person views in the book store. With regard to a publishing company, it’s the opportunity that they will likely ever get to spotlight their product and get their logo design in front of the men and women that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches changed to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go however it seems that in many cases one of the traits people usually tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller fledgling commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to confering a sense of air travel and it was undoubtedly a success.

Cranston logo design utilized for advertising and also a tag layout for Vintage Case includes an antiquated typeface style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for musical instruments, that appeared to be vintage cases. For this custom logo concept I strove to come up with a logo that offered a fluid retro feel to it and could easily be used for anything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from another era.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Cranston, Rhode Island, layout consist of an arc with lines intersecting via it to imply metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can be one of the most challenging logo design projects due to the fact that it seems that virtually every dentist integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business marketing, if dining establishments approached their branding in the exact same way dental offices do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would likely include an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really enjoy doing dentist logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a layout that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a household nonprofit, the logo includes 4 characters staggered in height to represent a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution hopes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The intention of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to explain exactly how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If viewers have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that explains itself won’t have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo layout produced for a hair design workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird and an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a company logo which projected a feeling of serenity and elegance for their new hair salon. I came up with a design which did not go the obvious route of creating simply a stylized orchid but alternatively designed a logo design that implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the name and by placing emphasis on the logo design with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is more often than not the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead placed the importance on the emotion that they really wanted to transmit to their clients.

Arabian horse logo style developed for an equine ranch that concentrates on breeding Arabian program horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo style a tiny restaurant, layout consists of a customized script typeface which hovers over a group of ornate lines and dots.

Logo layout for a software developer the layout functions as well as renowned component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and drive managing. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a bridge in between the software program and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it represented something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the symbolism behind a logo is just as important as how it brands the business it represents.

A logo style including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly understood the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a place to sell off their pre-owned goods to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Cranston logo design dsign with an illustration which pulls in the attention of vehicles and sends an image that calls to mind the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo design has actually an area integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo concept wasn’t really composed for an Cranston, Rhode Island regional farm it was in reality created for an investments broker, and this trademark was one of several that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was to design a graphic that projected self-assurance, effectiveness, and luxury.

Cranston Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo design function for outwardly dealing with arrowhead and the arrowheads imply that it is a ruby shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what type of logo design they would like, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the opportunity to discover any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye in the absence of recognizing where exactly the target is. Thankfully, in this particular case, I hit a bullseye with the 1st try.

Logo design made for using an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script typeface that is evocative a well-known sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created loads of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project in which I worked directly with the proprietor to develop a logo that worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
