Cumberland, Rhode Island Logo Design

Virtually every new Cumberland organization understands that they are in need of a logo, yet few entrepreneurs entirely understand the vital role their company logo will make in their financial success, or precisely why one logo design functions far better than another. A company logo has a critical and sustaining influence on the financial success of a company, choose the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, go with the wrong one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the longevity of a business.

The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Cumberland, Rhode Island businesses succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 traits in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand deliberation, they can be understood in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo design will stay legible and just as emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a business logo needs to be enduring and should feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from today.
Retro logo design of a bicycle created for a Cumberland, Rhode Island coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and bistro were opening in an old part of town and wished to cast a retro atmosphere without coming across as boring or low energy. I fulfilled both jobs via designing a trademark design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo design with a microscopic lense slide and also germs made for Cumberland, Rhode Island clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that studies the root causes and consequences of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare that works with the laboratory examination of samples of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the sole instance I remember where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Generally I try not to be overly literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, yet it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more captivating, more attention grabbing and more memorable.

logo style with a leaping green frog made for a household fun facility in Cumberland, Rhode Island.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental experts, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the company has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to incorporate a few springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, and also a tree - created for Cumberland, Rhode Island traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche speciality due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but instead project emotional experiences by means of the photos they capture. The thought behind this logo concept was to utilize negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of the majority of professional photographers in that they oftentimes tell entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness which can’t be revealed with just words. I attempted to do something much the same to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Cumberland logo design but also to show the depth in her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Cumberland logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design jobs that I take on I seriously enjoy and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A but my customer, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy genuinely loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family members didn’t share his scorn for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage them to discuss it with friends and family members as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get honest opinions on the merit of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family and they really loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logos are a strange creature in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to design their logo design realize how vital a logo is for their company so they are way more invested in the end result. Every logo design project possesses it’s allotment of difficulties, but the most significant challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, style for Cumberland, Rhode Island publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender segment of real estate to work with, however it really is the most crucial part of a published book due to the fact that it is usually the primary thing a person views in the bookstore. Concerning a publisher, it’s the optimal opportunity they will ever get to spotlight their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go but it seems that in many occurrences one of the things folks usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest start-up commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their business logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to affording a feeling of flight and it was surely a winner.

Cumberland logo design utilized for marketing and a label design for Vintage Situation features an archaic font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in new cases for music instruments, which looked to be older cases. For this custom logo concept I strove to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old style feel to it and could be used for everything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different era.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Cumberland, Rhode Island, layout consist of an arc with lines converging with it to indicate steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can easily be one of the most challenging logo jobs because it seems that every dentist incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business branding, if restaurants approached their branding in the exact same way dental offices do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would likely have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really love doing dental care business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a family members nonprofit, the logo includes 4 personalities staggered in elevation to represent a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the people in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization hopes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to describe how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If viewers have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that explains itself will never have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo design developed for a hair layout studio featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and also an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a company logo that projected a spirit of serenity and elegance for their new hair salon. I created a design that didn’t go the obvious route of creating simply a stylized orchid but alternatively created a business logo which implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl incorporated into the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the concept with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is oftentimes the wrong path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead put the main focus on the emotion that they really wanted to transmit to their clients.

Logo layout for a software application developer the layout functions as well as famous component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and drive managing. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection in between the software and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it meant something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the meaning supporting a logo is equally as important as how it serves the business it represents.

A logo layout featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly knew the market was ready for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a place to sell off their secondhand equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Cumberland business logo dsign with a graphic which garners the interest of vehicles and sends an image that invokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo design has actually a field integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo idea wasn’t really created for an Cumberland, Rhode Island area farm it was actually designed for a commodities broker, and this business logo was one of several which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was really to design an identity that projected trust, success, and opulence.

Cumberland Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo layout attribute for externally dealing with arrow and the arrowheads imply that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what kind of logo design they desired, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the flexibility to discover any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye in the absence of knowing where exactly the target is. Thankfully, in this case, I hit a bullseye with the first go.

Logo developed for making use of an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script typeface that is evocative a renowned sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created loads of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project where I worked closely with the owner to produce a business logo that worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
