Narragansett Logo Design

Virtually every new Narragansett venture realizes that they require a logo, however few entrepreneurs entirely realize the crucial role their business logo can play in their success, or the reason that one logo works more effectively than another. A company logo has an instant and long term effect on the financial success of a business, go with the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, go with the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life of an organization. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Narragansett companies prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not require deliberation, they can be grasped in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo design will be legible and just as emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo must be enduring and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from today.

Retro logo design of a bicycle produced for a Narragansett coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually launching in an older section of the town and hoped to visualize a retro tone without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I fulfilled both tasks via developing a trademark concept that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and also bacteria designed for Narragansett clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which examines the root causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the field of medicine that deals with the laboratory assessment of samples of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I recall where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be overly literal with a design and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents quite literally, however it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more interesting, more attention grabbing and even more memorable.

logo design with a jumping environment-friendly frog designed for a household fun center in Narragansett.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental experts, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the company has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to incorporate a few springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a more dynamic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a flock of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and a tree - developed for Narragansett travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche speciality because travel photographers tend not to capture places or things but instead communicate emotional journeys by means of the images they record. The thought behind this logo design was to use negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of almost all professional photographers in that they oftentimes convey entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be communicated with just words. I made an effort to do something very similar to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Narragansett logo but also to show the depth of her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Narragansett logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design jobs that I take on I seriously take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A but my client, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy truly loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family didn’t share his contempt for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I urge them to talk about it with colleagues and family as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get objective judgements on the benefit of a design concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a weird animal in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to create their logo comprehend how vital a logo is for their business so they are much more invested in the end result. Every logo design project has it’s allotment of hurdles, but the most significant obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, style for Narragansett publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin segment of real estate to work with, but it is the most crucial part of a published book considering that it is ordinarily the very first thing a person views in the book shop. Regarding a publishing company, it’s the absolute best opportunity that they will likely ever get to publicize their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go but it seems like that in many cases one of the things folks often tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller new venture commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a spirit of flight and it was certainly a success.

Narragansett logo style made use of for advertising and marketing as well as a label style for Vintage Instance features an antiquated typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for music instruments, that looked to be much older cases. For this custom logo design I sought to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old style feel to it and could be used for anything from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another generation.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Narragansett, layout consist of an arc with lines converging through it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can easily be one of the most challenging logo design jobs due to the fact that it seems that virtually every dentist involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company branding, if restaurants approached their advertising in the very same way dental practices do every one of their company logos would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would probably have an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I actually love doing dental care logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family not-for-profit, the logo features 4 personalities surprised in elevation to represent a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the families in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be overly literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wants to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo design that communicated that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The intention of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to illustrate how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that illustrates itself won’t have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo style produced for a hair design studio featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and also an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo that conveyed an atmosphere of contentment and elegance for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept which didn’t go the obvious path of crafting simply a stylized orchid but alternatively crafted a company logo that suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl featured into the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the concept with the figure of a hummingbird hovering over the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is frequently the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead placed the attention on the feeling that they really wanted to project to their clients.

Logo style for a software application developer the style attributes and iconic element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and drive managing. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a bridge between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it represented something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the symbolism supporting a company logo is just as important as how it serves the business it represents.

A logo design featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly understood the market was ready for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a place to sell their pre-owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Narragansett logo dsign using an image which captures the attention of vehicles and projects an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo design has actually a field incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo idea wasn’t really composed for an Narragansett regional farm it was really developed for a commodities broker, and this logo design was one of many that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was actually to generate an identity that projects esteem, financial success, and prosperity.
Logo design created for making use of a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font style that is evocative a popular sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted loads of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project in which I worked directly with the owner to create a logo design which worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
