Newport Logo Design

Every new Newport organization understands that they are in need of a logo, but few new business owners entirely comprehend the pivotal role their business logo can take in their becoming successful, or why one logo functions more effectively than another. A logo design has a critical and long term influence on the financial success of a company, choose the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, choose the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the life span of a company. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Newport companies succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand contemplation, they can be realized in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo will remain legible and just as emotive at virtually any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the organization they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo needs to be lasting and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from now.

Retro logo layout of a bike created for a Newport coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually launching in an old part of the city and wanted to cast an old-fashioned atmosphere without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I achieved the two jobs by means of designing a business logo design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo design with a microscope slide as well as germs made for Newport medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which analyzes the root causes and consequences of diseases, especially the field of medicine which works with the clinical examination of specimens of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the only instance I remember in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Generally I try not to be overly literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, but it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more appealing, more attention grabbing and even more meaningful.

logo design with a jumping green frog developed for a family fun facility in Newport.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental practices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the company features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to feature a couple springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not actually reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a better dynamic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - created for Newport traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche area because travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but rather reveal emotional journeys by means of the images they record. The thought behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of most professional photographers in that they often convey whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be conveyed with just words. I tried to do something the same to this logo by using the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Newport logo design but also to show the depth to her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Newport logo layout with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of logo design projects that I take on I genuinely relish and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A but my client, while he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy seriously despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family members didn’t share his scorn for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge them to share it with friends and family members as well as with people that they don’t actually know so as to get unprejudiced judgements on the value of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family and they really liked the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that tend to hire a professional to design their logo comprehend how crucial a logo design is for their organization so they are much more invested in the end result. Every logo design project has it’s allotment of challenges, but the largest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, style for Newport publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow piece of real estate to work with, but it really is the most essential part of a printed book due to the fact that it is ordinarily the primary thing a person views in the book store. Concerning a publishing company, it’s the best opportunity that they will ever get to publicize their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go yet it seems that in many occurrences 1 of the items consumers tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small fledgling commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to affording a good sense of airline flight and it was undoubtedly a victory.

Newport logo layout utilized for marketing as well as a tag design for Vintage Case features an old-fashioned font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for music instruments, that appeared to be vintage cases. For this brand concept I sought to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be utilized for anything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different era.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Newport, style include an arc with lines intersecting via it to imply metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logos can be one of the most difficult logo projects considering that it appears that every single dentist involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company branding, if restaurants approached their advertising in the exact same way dental practices do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would most likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I really enjoy doing dentistry business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a design that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was obvious was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a household not-for-profit, the logo features 4 characters staggered in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wishes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The aim of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to summarize how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that explains itself won’t have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo style produced for a hair style workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird and also an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a business logo that carried an atmosphere of simplicity and connection for their new hair studio. I created a concept that didn’t go the obvious route of designing merely a stylized orchid but alternatively designed a logo which implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the logo design along with the figure of a hummingbird floating above the image itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is more often than not the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately placed the attention on the emotion that they wanted to forecast to their clients.

Logo style for a software programmer the layout functions and legendary aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and disk managing. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection in between the software program and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it meant something to the owner of the company and in many cases the significance behind a business logo is just as important as how it brands the company it stands for.

A logo style featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly recognized the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a location to market their previously owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Newport logo dsign along with an illustration that garners the interest of traffic and sends an image that calls to mind the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo layout has actually an area incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem concept wasn’t actually composed for an Newport regional farm it was actually devised for an investments broker, and this logo design was one of a handful of which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was really to develop a graphic that projected confidence, financial success, and affluence.
Logo design created for the use of a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script font style that is evocative a famous sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted loads of restaurant custom logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project where I worked directly with the proprietor to produce a logo which worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
