Providence Logo Design

Nearly every new Providence business realizes that they need a logo, however few new business owners entirely are aware of the vital role their business logo can take in their success, or the reason that one logo works far better than another. A logo has a critical and lasting influence on the financial success of a company, go with the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, select the wrong one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the longevity of a company. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Providence companies prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require contemplation, they can be grasped in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo will be legible and just as emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo should be timeless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.

Retro logo style of a bicycle created for a Providence coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and bistro were launching in an old part of town and hoped to project a retro vibe without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I fulfilled each of the jobs via designing a company logo concept that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and germs developed for Providence medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that researches the triggers and effects of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare which works with the laboratory examination of samples of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the only instance I recall in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be overly literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, yet it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more intriguing, more interest grabbing and even more memorable.

logo style with a jumping green frog created for a family members enjoyable facility in Providence.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental offices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the business features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to feature a few springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not actually reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they utilized for promotion and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo including a group of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and a tree - designed for Providence travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but rather reveal emotional experiences through the photos they capture. The thought behind this logo composition was to make use of negative space to project more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of most professional photographers in that they frequently share entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be communicated with mere words. I tried to do something much the same to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Providence logo but also to reveal the depth to her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Providence logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design projects that I take on I genuinely relish and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A however the customer, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This man really hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family didn’t share his scorn for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge all of them to share it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get unbiased viewpoints on the value of a design concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they really loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a strange creature in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire a professional to create their business logo understand how important a logo design is for their business so they are much more invested in the result. Every logo job has it’s portion of hurdles, however the most significant challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Providence book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin segment of real estate to work with, but it really is the most necessary part of a published book due to the fact that it is usually the first thing a person views in the bookstore. For a publisher, it’s the most ideal opportunity that they will likely ever have to spotlight their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design designed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart but it seems that in many occurrences 1 of the aspects consumers tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller start-up commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to conferring a feeling of air travel and it was certainly a winner.

Providence logo design used for advertising and marketing and a tag layout for Vintage Case features an archaic typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for music instruments, which looked to be vintage cases. For this custom logo design I sought to come up with a logo that provided a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could easily be utilized for everything from a web site to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different point in time.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Providence, design include an arc with lines converging with it to suggest metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo jobs because it seems that virtually every dentist integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business marketing, if dining establishments approached their branding in the same way dentists do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would most likely include an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I really love doing dentistry business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a layout that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this concept over to the client the only smile that was apparent was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a family members nonprofit, the logo includes 4 personalities startled in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization hopes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo design that communicated that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to illustrate exactly how people should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If viewers have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that describes itself will never have the chance to be understood.

Logo layout produced for a hair layout studio featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a business logo which projected a feeling of relaxation and elegance for their new hair salon. I created a concept which did not go the obvious path of crafting merely a stylized orchid but rather created a company logo that implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the logo design along with the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a business logo is in most cases the wrong path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately placed the importance on the emotion that they wanted to project to their customers.

Arabian steed logo layout produced for a horse cattle ranch that focuses on breeding Arabian program steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo created a distinct logotype design fashioned to epitomize the unique physical traits of the Arabian pedigree of equines. With an identifiable head shape and very high tail posture, the Arabian is one of the very most easily identifiable equine breeds in the whole world.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo design a small dining establishment, layout includes a modified manuscript font style which hovers over a group of luxuriant lines and dots.

Logo style for a software program programmer the layout attributes and also iconic element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and disk managing. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a bridge between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it represented something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the meaning behind a company logo is equally as important as how it brands the company it stands for.

Advance logo design produced for a Providence interior developer, layout feature a series of red circles that converge and also replace the letter O in the center of the logo design.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

A logo style featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly knew the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a place to sell their pre-owned goods to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Providence logo dsign with an image that garners the interest of traffic and projects an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo layout has actually an area integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem design wasn’t really developed for an Providence regional farm it was in reality designed for a commodities broker, and this logo was one of a handful of which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was to create an identity that projects self-assurance, success, and affluence.
Logo design made for making use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript font that is similar to a well-known sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted dozens of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking in which I worked closely with the proprietor to produce a business logo that worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
