West Warwick, Rhode Island Logo Design

Every new West Warwick business understands that they require a logo, yet few new business owners fully realize the pivotal role their organization logo can play in their becoming successful, or why one business logo works better than another. A company logo has an immediate and long-term effect on the success of a company, pick the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, go with the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the life of a company.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help West Warwick, Rhode Island companies prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these five traits in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t demand deliberation, they can be grasped in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable business logo will be legible and just as emotive at every scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo must be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from today.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo design of a bike created for a West Warwick, Rhode Island coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and cafe were opening in an old section of town and wanted to cast a vintage feel without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I achieved the two tasks by developing a logo design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo design with a microscopic lense slide as well as germs designed for West Warwick, Rhode Island clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that investigates the root causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare which deals with the laboratory evaluation of specimens of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the sole instance I call to mind where I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Typically I try not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves very literally, yet it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more intriguing, more attention grabbing and even more unforgettable.

logo layout with a leaping eco-friendly frog developed for a family members enjoyable center in West Warwick, Rhode Island.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dentists, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the company has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to feature a couple springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a more lively high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a flock of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, and also a tree - developed for West Warwick, Rhode Island traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but instead communicate emotional experiences through the pictures they record. The thought behind this logo composition was to use negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of almost all professional photographers in that they oftentimes tell entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be communicated with mere words. I attempted to do something much the same to this logo design by making use of the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  West Warwick logo but also to illustrate the depth of her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

West Warwick logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design projects that I take on I really take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A however my customer, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy seriously disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family members didn’t share his hatred for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage all of them to share it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get unbiased viewpoints on the merit of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logos are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire a professional to create their logo recognize how essential a logo is for their business so they are way more vested in the outcome. Every logo project possesses it’s share of difficulties, but the greatest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for West Warwick, Rhode Island book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped slice of real estate to work with, but it is the most necessary part of a printed book due to the fact that it is usually the first thing a person sees in the book shop. Concerning a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity that they will likely ever have to advertise their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that buy actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches customized to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go however it seems like that in many instances one of the aspects people usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young fledgling commuter/shuttle air service located in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to imparting a spirit of air travel and it was certainly a success.

West Warwick logo design made use of for advertising and marketing and also a label layout for Vintage Case includes an old font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for musical instruments, which appeared to be older cases. For this logo design I strove to come up with a logo that offered a fluid vintage feel to it and could be used for everything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different point in time.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in West Warwick, Rhode Island, layout include an arc with lines converging through it to suggest metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can easily be one of the most difficult logo projects due to the fact that it seems that every single dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business advertising, if restaurants approached their branding in the exact same way dental professionals do every one of their logo designs would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would probably contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really love doing dentistry logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a concept that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was evident was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a family members nonprofit, the logo includes 4 characters surprised in height to represent a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the folks in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wishes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to summarize specifically how people should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If people have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that explains itself will never have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo layout produced for a hair layout workshop including a script font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a business logo which related a feeling of calmness and elegance for their new hair studio. I created a design that didn’t go the obvious path of creating just a stylized orchid but alternatively designed a business logo that suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the logo design with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is usually the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead placed the attention on the emotion that they really wanted to project to their customers.

Logo style for a software application developer the style features and also famous aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and hard drive managing. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a bridge in between the software and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it intimated something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the substance supporting a logo is equally as important as how it serves the organization it stands for.

A logo layout including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly understood the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a place to sell their used equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their West Warwick logo design dsign along with a graphic which garners the attention of traffic and projects an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo design has actually a field integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo idea wasn’t actually composed for an West Warwick, Rhode Island regional farm it was in reality developed for an investments broker, and this particular brand was one of a handful of that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was actually to design a image that projects self-confidence, success, and wealth.

West Warwick Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo design function for externally facing arrow and the arrowheads indicate that it is a ruby shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what type of logo design that they preferred, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the freedom to investigate any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye without understanding where exactly the target is. Fortunately, in this particular case, I hit a bullseye with the very first try.

Logo design developed for using an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font that is reminiscent of a popular sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted dozens of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking in which I worked directly with the business owner to develop a logo which worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
