TIPS ON PICKING THE BEST LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A business logo is an investment in both your time and your money so whenever a design firm offers a money back guarantee try to bear in mind that they can not refund the time you commit which is eminently more precious than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Some design firms talk a good game but inevitably a designer can only be evaluated by the quality of their design work, if the work in their portfolio does not contain actual samples odds are they will not be able to deliver a premium logo design.

VISION

A logo’s aim is to be recognized and remembered, and it’s purpose is to echo your unique vision for your business. If a designer isn’t focused on fulfilling your vision, the thing they are really focused on is how fast they will get paid.

Woonsocket LOGO DESIGN

For over twenty years ImageCo has been helping start ups and entrepreneurs establish unforgettable brands. We’ve performed brand design work for mechanics, universities, diamond miners, wedding singers, coffee shops, retail stores, and virtually every other kind of business concern you can imagine. What makes ImageCo different compared to traditional designers is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we undertake every design as though it will be utilized as an electric sign. Because of our sign first method our logo designs can, and have been utilized in everything from garment labels to electrical signs. Our sign first approach insures that our logo designs are equally reliable whether they are used in television commercials or website headers, they are consistently recognizable, understood, and always remembered irrespective of scale or purpose.

American Made ★ Design

Something that seriously sets ImageCo apart from many of the design firms that you might have encountered in search results, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that absolutely every project we are enlisted to perform, we perform in-house. Irrespective of the kind of project we take on, logo, business website, trade show exhibition, or retail sign, we do not, and never will job out our client’s work to contractors located outside the United States. When you contact us at 1-855-IMAGECO the person that picks up the phone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a broker that increases the price of your design project and imposes the terms of how my customers and I conduct business.

CHARACTERISTICS OF A GOOD LOGO DESIGN

Every new Woonsocket organization realizes that they require a logo, however few new business owners fully understand the pivotal role their logo design will play in their financial success, or precisely why one logo design performs better than another. A logo design has a critical and long-term effect on the viability of a company, select the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, go with the incorrect one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life of an organization. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Woonsocket companies prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require scrutiny, they can be comprehended in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable business logo will continue to be legible and just as emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos which operate on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel right, and they are suitable for the product or business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo design must be enduring and will feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from today.

understand your brand

Brand – It is both a verb as well as a noun, it’s an identifying mark and the act of noting something to make sure that it can be identified, its origin originates from the brand branded onto livestock. Today a brand represents virtually anything with a motive, regardless if it be profit or politics, a brand is an innate aspect of defining the value of a specific thing in the customer’s mind.

Branding – Is kind of like advertising and marketing’s sexy sister, they are each from the exact same family, the difference being that marketing and advertising have to do with making a promise and branding’s objective is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a calculated popularity contest aimed at a target audience, it’s objective is to produce a mental image that the audience can relate to.

Brand Image – An image planted and cultivated by advertising and marketing and identity design. When a person states the names Porsche or Corvette what we think of is their brand image, it’s a picture that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a vehicle with 4 wheels that can move us from point A to point B, the the mental image we have (or at least I have) is of freedom, elegance, of something dangerous and unique . That is brand image and that is what makes individuals want those products. Brand image is why individuals acquire specific brands, from Pepsi to Coke Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that we can identify with.

Branding Firms – If you look back at the origin of most branding agencies you’ll discover that they are frequently rebranded advertising and marketing firms. When a person states they are in marketing lots of people will likely have an idea about what they do. But when a person claims “I am in branding”… it just sounds more attractive, perhaps it’s because most people don’t understand what it implies to be in branding so it comes off as mysterious and kind of attractive.

Brand Identity – Is a comprehensive term that defines the visual elements of a product or company that influence view points. This mainly includes the name, the logo design, the packaging, the different colors utilized yet can additionally consist of audio, lighting, texture, signage, actually anything that can be seen, felt or heard belong to a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designers
– A brand identity designer is a graphic designer that concentrates on a kind of visual design which helps form the image of a business, a product or a business organization. Brand identity designers produce logo designs, sign designs, product packaging, and collateral products such as cards, stationery, as well as sales brochures. Some visual designers also develop websites and also software interfaces. The crucial duty of a brand identity designer is to develop the visual cues as well as a psychological tone with the goal of affecting actions, results as well as perceptions.

select signs/logos

Retro logo style of a bicycle produced for a Woonsocket coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee bar were opening in an older part of town and wished to cast a nostalgic vibe without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I fulfilled each of the tasks by developing a logo design that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

medical logo layout with a microscope slide and bacteria designed for Woonsocket clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which investigates the triggers and effects of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine which deals with the laboratory examination of samples of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the only instance I recollect where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Typically I try not to be overly literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, yet it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more captivating, more attention grabbing and much more unforgettable.

logo layout with a leaping eco-friendly frog designed for a family members fun center in Woonsocket.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for doctors, dentists, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the business has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to include a couple of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a better lively high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo including a flock of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and a tree - created for Woonsocket travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche field due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture places or things but rather project emotional journeys through the pictures they capture. The idea behind this logo composition was to use negative space to project more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of almost all good photographers in that they frequently tell entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be conveyed with mere words. I tried to do something comparable to this logo design by making use of the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Woonsocket logo design but also to illustrate the depth in her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Woonsocket logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of business logo design projects that I take on I truly savor and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A however my customer, while he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man really disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family members didn’t share his aversion for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge all of them to discuss it with colleagues and family as well as with people that they don’t actually know so as to get unprejudiced judgements on the value of a concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they really loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logos are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to design their business logo comprehend how important a logo design is for their business so they are way more vested in the outcome. Every logo design project possesses it’s share of difficulties, but the largest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, layout for Woonsocket publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin slice of real estate to work with, but it is the most important part of a printed book because it is often the primary thing a person sees in the bookstore. Concerning a publishing company, it’s the optimal opportunity that they will ever have to advertise their brand and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with the bars customized to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go yet it looks like that in many occurrences one of the things individuals tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young fledgling commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to conferring a feeling of air travel and it was surely a winner.

Woonsocket logo style utilized for marketing and also a tag design for Vintage Instance includes an old font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for music instruments, which seemed to be older cases. For this custom logo concept I tried to come up with a logo that provided a fluid retro feel to it and could easily be used for anything from a web site to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different era.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Woonsocket, design consist of an arc with lines intersecting with it to imply steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can easily be one of the most challenging logo jobs due to the fact that it appears that every single dental professional features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business branding, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the very same way dental offices do every one of their company logos would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would probably contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really enjoy doing dental logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and subsequently I created a design that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was apparent was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 characters surprised in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the folks in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wants to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to explain how people should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If you have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that describes itself will never have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo design created for a Woonsocket hair style workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird and also a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a company logo which related a sense of simplicity and connection for their new hair salon. I created a design that didn’t go the obvious route of designing simply a stylized orchid but alternatively created a logo which implied a flower in the formation of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the concept using the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the image itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is generally the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately put the emphasis on the perception that they wanted to forecast to their customers.

Arabian equine logo style developed for an equine cattle ranch that focuses on breeding Arabian show horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo designed an original logo concept customized to epitomize the unique physical traits of the Arabian pedigree of horses. By having a distinctive head shape and higher tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the most easily recognizable horse types in the whole world.

Las Cafe, A Woonsocket restaurant logo layout a little dining establishment, layout consists of a changed script font style which floats over a team of luxuriant lines as well as dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo layout a little dining establishment, layout includes a changed manuscript typeface which hovers above a group of ornate lines and dots.

Logo layout for a software program programmer the layout attributes and renowned Woonsocket element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and hard drive operations. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a connection between the software program and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it represented something to the owner of the business and in many cases the significance behind a logo design is equally as important as how it serves the organization it represents.

Advance logo style developed for a Woonsocketinterior developer, style function a series of red circles that intersect and change the letter O in the middle of the logo design.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Woonsocket interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is a professional who organizes, investigates, collaborates, and oversees such ventures. Interior design is a diverse occupation that involves conceptual development, area planning, location examinations, programming, analysis, interacting with the stakeholders of a project, construction management, and implementation of the design.

logo design provided for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Woonsocket, the characters for letter V and also A in center of words progressed have actually been modified to link directly right into words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Woonsocket logo design project was performed for a management advisor that assists business leaders to become more successful at supervising people, expectations, and productivity.

A Woonsocket business logo style including a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly realized the market was primed for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a place to sell off their used products to other sports enthusiasts.

I designed their Woonsocket logo design along with an illustration that garners the attention of vehicles and sends an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.

Logo layout MQ ranches, this Woonsocket company logo design has actually an area incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo idea wasn’t really composed for an Woonsocket area farm it was actually designed for an investments broker, and this company was one of multiple which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was actually to make a brand mark that projected assurance, financial success, and affluence.

Woonsocket Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo style attribute for externally dealing with arrowhead as well as the arrowheads suggest that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what type of logo design that they desired, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it grants a designer the freedom to discover any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye in the absence of realizing where exactly the target is. Thankfully, in this instance, I struck a bullseye with the first go.

Logo made for the use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font style that is reminiscent of a well-known Woonsocket sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created dozens of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project where I worked directly with the proprietor to design a business logo that worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
