Scottsdale Logo Design

Each and every new Scottsdale organization realizes that they require a logo, however few new business owners entirely grasp the crucial role their organization logo can perform in their becoming successful, or precisely why one logo design functions better than another. A business logo has an instant and long term influence on the success of a business, select the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the longevity of a business. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Scottsdale companies succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require scrutiny, they can be comprehended in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable business logo will be legible and equally emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a business logo should be ageless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from now.

Retro logo style of a bike produced for a Scottsdale coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffeehouse were actually opening in an older section of the community and wished to visualize an old-fashioned atmosphere without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I achieved both of these jobs via designing a trademark concept that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a enduring business image.

medical logo style with a microscope slide and germs designed for Scottsdale clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which studies the causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the field of medicine which deals with the laboratory evaluation of specimens of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the only instance I remember in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents rather literally, but it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more captivating, more focus grabbing and even more memorable.

logo layout with a jumping eco-friendly frog made for a family fun facility in Scottsdale.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the types of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental experts, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the company has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a some springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not actually reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a better lively high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for promotion and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design including a group of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, and a tree - developed for Scottsdale traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche sector due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture places or things but rather project emotional experiences through the photos they capture. The idea behind this logo design was to make use of negative space to project more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of the majority of good photographers in that they frequently tell whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be communicated with mere words. I attempted to do something much the same to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Scottsdale logo design but also to reveal the depth to her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Scottsdale logo layout with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design jobs that I take on I truly savor and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A however the customer, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man truly hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family did not share his contempt for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage all of them to share it with colleagues and family members as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get unprejudiced point of views on the merit of a concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they really loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logo designs are a strange creature in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire an expert to create their logo design comprehend how important a logo design is for their business so they are way more vested in the outcome. Every logo job has it’s allotment of challenges, however the largest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Scottsdale book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender parcel of real estate to work with, however it really is the most critical part of a published book since it is in most cases the very first thing a person views in the book shop. Concerning a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will likely ever get to advertise their brand and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars modified to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart yet it looks like that in many instances one of the traits consumers usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller new venture commuter/shuttle airline company located in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to affording a good sense of air travel and it was definitely a success.

Scottsdale logo design made use of for advertising and marketing as well as a label design for Vintage Instance includes an antiquated font style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in all new cases for music instruments, that looked to be vintage cases. For this custom logo design I attempted to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid retro feel to it and could be utilized for anything from a website to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another generation.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Scottsdale, layout include an arc with lines intersecting with it to imply metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care business logos can be one of the most difficult logo design jobs considering that it seems that virtually every dentist features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company branding, if restaurants approached their branding in the very same way dental professionals do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really enjoy doing dentistry logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a design that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a family not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 characters staggered in height to stand for a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the folks in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be very literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wants to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a logo design that communicated that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The aim of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to describe exactly how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If viewers have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that illustrates itself won’t have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo design developed for a hair layout workshop including a script font a hummingbird and also a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a logo design which carried a sense of serenity and class for their new hair salon. I came up with a design which did not go the obvious path of making merely a stylized orchid but instead delivered a logo design which implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the logo design with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is usually the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately put the focus on the feeling that they wanted to project to their patrons.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Las Cafe logo layout a small restaurant, layout consists of a changed manuscript typeface which floats above a team of elaborate lines and also dots.

Logo layout for a software program programmer the layout attributes as well as legendary aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and hard drive management. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a bridge between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it symbolized something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the symbolism behind a business logo is equally as important as how it serves the business it represents.

A logo style featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly understood the market was ready for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a location to sell their pre-owned products to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Scottsdale logo design dsign with a graphic that captures the attention of vehicles and projects an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo layout MQ farms, this logo layout has a field integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo concept wasn’t actually composed for an Scottsdale regional farm it was in reality created for a products broker, and this particular business logo was one of several which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was actually to make a graphic that projected confidence, effectiveness, and affluence.
Logo made for the use of an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script typeface that is reminiscent of a famous sports group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed loads of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking where I worked directly with the owner to develop a business logo that worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
