Sierra Vista Logo Design

Every new Sierra Vista venture knows they require a logo, however few entrepreneurs entirely realize the pivotal role their business logo can make in their success, or precisely why one business logo works better than another. A business logo has an immediate and sustaining impact on the growth of a company, go with the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the wrong one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the life of a business. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Sierra Vista businesses prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand deliberation, they can be comprehended in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo design will be legible and just as emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo design must be lasting and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from now.

Retro logo style of a bike created for a Sierra Vista coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffee shop were opening in an old part of the area and wanted to cast an old-fashioned atmosphere without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I achieved both tasks by designing a sign design that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo design with a microscopic lense slide and germs created for Sierra Vista clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which analyzes the causes and outcomes of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare that works with the laboratory examination of samples of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the sole instance I call to mind where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Usually I try not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a point, this design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, but it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more appealing, more interest grabbing and even more unforgettable.

logo layout with a jumping environment-friendly frog developed for a family enjoyable facility in Sierra Vista.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the types of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental practices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the business has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to feature a couple springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, and also a tree - created for Sierra Vista travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I think it is a niche profession due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but rather reveal emotional journeys by means of the photos they capture. The thought behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of almost all good photographers in that they oftentimes convey whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be communicated with mere words. I tried to do something the same to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Sierra Vista logo but also to reveal the depth of her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Sierra Vista logo layout with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design jobs that I take on I really enjoy and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A however the customer, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy seriously disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members did not share his contempt for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge them to talk about it with friends and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get unbiased viewpoints on the benefit of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family and they loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Business logos are a weird creature in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire an expert to create their logo realize how essential a logo is for their company so they are way more vested in the end result. Every logo job possesses it’s share of challenges, however the most significant challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, layout for Sierra Vista publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow slice of real estate to work with, yet it is the most essential part of a published book considering that it is usually the first thing a person sees in the bookstore. With regard to a publishing company, it’s the opportunity that they will likely ever get to advertise their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with the bars customized to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go yet it seems that in many occurrences one of the aspects individuals tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young start-up commuter/shuttle airline company located in LA and although I’m not certain it actually “took off” their logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to imparting a good sense of flight and it was undoubtedly a victory.

Sierra Vista logo style used for advertising and also a label layout for Vintage Case features an old-fashioned typeface style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for musical instruments, which looked to be older cases. For this logo design I tried to come up with a logo that offered a fluid retro feel to it and could be used for anything from a website to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from another generation.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Sierra Vista, layout consist of an arc with lines converging through it to suggest metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care business logos can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design projects considering that it seems that virtually every dental professional includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business branding, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the exact same way dental offices do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I really enjoy doing dentistry logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and ultimately I created a concept that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a family members nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 characters surprised in height to represent a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the families in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be very literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wishes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to explain how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If you have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that describes itself will never have the chance to be understood.

Logo style produced for a hair style studio including a script font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a company logo which carried a spirit of simplicity and class for their new hair studio. I came up with a design which didn’t go the obvious route of crafting simply a stylized orchid but instead designed a logo design which suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl blended into the letter O in the name and by placing emphasis on the logo design along with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is oftentimes the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead placed the focus on the feeling that they really wanted to project to their customers.

Logo style for a software program designer the style functions and famous aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and hard drive operations. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a connection between the software and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it meant something to the business owner of the company and in many cases the meaning supporting a logo is just as important as how it brands the organization it stands for.

A logo design featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly knew the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a spot to sell their secondhand items to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Sierra Vista business logo dsign with a graphic that pulls in the attention of traffic and projects an image that invokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo layout has an area incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo idea wasn’t really created for an Sierra Vista regional farm it was really created for a products broker, and this particular company was one of multiple which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was actually to make a brand mark that projects confidence, success, and luxury.
Logo made for using an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript font that is similar to a well-known sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created loads of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking where I worked directly with the owner to create a business logo that worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
