TIPS FOR PICKING THE RIGHT LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo is an investment in both your time and your money so when a design company presents a money back guarantee try to bear in mind that they can not refund the time you commit which is eminently more precious than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Many design firms talk a good game but in the end a design agency can only be evaluated from the quality of their portfolio, if the work in their design portfolio does not contain actual samples chances are they will not be able to produce a premium logo design.

VISION

A logo’s aim is to be understood and remembered, and it’s objective is to mirror your personal vision for your organization. If a logo designer isn’t focused on fulfilling your vision, the thing they are actually focused on is how quickly they will get paid.

Anderson LOGO DESIGN

For over 20 years ImageCo has been helping businesses of all kinds develop memorable brand identities. We’ve undertaken logo design work for farmers, schools, heart surgeons, party planners, bistros, retailers, and practically every other kind of business concern you can imagine. What makes us unique compared to typical graphic designers is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we approach every brand identity project as if it will be used as an electrical sign. Because of our sign first method our brand identity designs can, and have been employed in everything from fashion labels to billboards. Our sign first technique insures that our logo designs are just as reliable whether they are used in television commercials or website applications, they are consistently recognizable, understood, and remembered regardless of scale or purpose.

American Made ★ Design

The thing which truly sets ImageCo apart from other design firms that you may have encountered online, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that absolutely every design project we are enlisted to do, we do in-house. No matter the type of project we take on, business logo, website, trade show booth, or commercial sign, we do not, and never will contract out our customer’s projects to 3rd parties based outside the USA. Whenever you contact us at 1-855-IMAGECO the party that answers the phone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a middleman that marks up the price of your project and determines the conditions of how you and I do business.

QUALITIES OF A GOOD LOGO DESIGN

Virtually every new Anderson organization understands that they need a logo, but few start ups thoroughly understand the crucial role their logo can play in their success, or the reason that one logo design works far better than another. A business logo has a critical and long term impact on the growth of a company, go with the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, select the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the life of an organization. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Anderson businesses succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not require deliberation, they can be understood in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from clothing labels to store signs a scalable business logo will be legible and just as emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel personal, and they are suitable for the product or company they brand.
  5. Relevance: a business logo must be lasting and should feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from today.

understand your brand

Brand – It’s a verb and also a noun, it’s an identifying mark and also the process of noting something so that it could be identified, its foundation comes from the brand burned onto livestock. Today a brand signifies pretty much anything with an intention, regardless of whether it be revenue or government agencies, a brand is an inherent aspect of specifying the worth of something in the consumer’s mind.

Branding – Is kind of like marketing and advertising’s sexy cousin, they are all from the very same family, the difference being that advertising and marketing are about making a promise and branding’s objective is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a strategic popularity competition targeted at a specific audience, it’s objective is to develop an image that the target market can connect to.

Brand Image – An image planted and cultivated by advertising and marketing and also identity design. When somebody mentions the names Porsche or Mustang what we think of is their brand image, it’s an image that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a vehicle with 4 wheels that can transport us from point A to point B, the the mental image we have (or at least I have) is of speed, elegance, of something dangerous and unique . That is brand image and that is what makes individuals buy those products. Brand image is why people get most things, from Nike to Adidas Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that people can relate to.

Branding Firms – If you look back at the origin of the majority of branding firms you’ll discover that they are quite often rebranded marketing agencies. When someone states they are in advertising most individuals will likely have a preconceived notion about what they do. However when somebody claims “I am in branding”… it just seems much more attractive, maybe it’s because most individuals don’t fully understand what it means to be in branding so it comes off as more mysterious and kind of sexy.

Brand Identity – Is a comprehensive term that defines the visual aspects of a product or agency that influence view points. This mostly includes the name, the logo, the packaging, the different colors used however can likewise consist of sound, lighting, texture, signage, really anything that can be seen, touched or listened to become part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designers
– A brand identity designer is a visual designer that specializes in a kind of visual design that helps shape the public image of a company, a product or a company. Brand identity designers develop logo designs, signage designs, packaging, and also collateral products such as cards, stationery, and sales brochures. Some identity designers also build websites as well as user interfaces. The crucial role of a brand identity designer is to establish the visual cues and also a psychological tone with the goal of affecting actions, outcomes and also assumptions.

Featured signs/logos

Retro logo layout of a bike developed for a Anderson coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffee bar were launching in an older part of the city and wanted to visualize a nostalgic atmosphere without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I fulfilled both jobs via developing a company logo design that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a enduring business image.

medical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and bacteria created for Anderson clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which researches the root causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the field of medicine that works with the clinical assessment of samplings of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the only instance I recollect in which I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Normally I try not to be excessively literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents quite literally, yet it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more appealing, more interest grabbing and even more unforgettable.

logo design with a leaping green frog created for a family members fun facility in Anderson.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of projects that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dentists, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the business has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to incorporate a couple springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a better dynamic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, and a tree - made for Anderson travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche field due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture places or things but rather communicate emotional journeys through the pictures they record. The idea behind this logo concept was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of the majority of professional photographers in that they often tell entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be conveyed with mere words. I tried to do something much the same to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Anderson logo design but also to reveal the depth in her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Anderson logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of business logo design jobs that I take on I genuinely relish and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A however the customer, while he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy genuinely loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family members didn’t share his scorn for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I urge them to talk about it with friends and family as well as with people that they don’t actually know so as to get honest opinions on the value of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family and they loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a weird animal in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to create their logo realize how essential a logo is for their business so they are much more invested in the end result. Every logo design job possesses it’s portion of difficulties, however the most significant challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, layout for Anderson book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped parcel of real estate to work with, but it really is the most important part of a published book due to the fact that it is ordinarily the first thing a person views in the book shop. Regarding a publishing company, it’s the optimal opportunity that they will likely ever get to advertise their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart yet it seems like that in many cases one of the items folks usually tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest start-up commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and although I’m not certain it actually “took off” their custom logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to conferring a spirit of flight and it was undoubtedly a victory.

Anderson logo style utilized for advertising as well as a label style for Vintage Situation features an old font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in all new cases for musical instruments, which looked to be vintage cases. For this custom logo design I strove to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid vintage feel to it and could be used for anything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another generation.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Anderson, layout consist of an arc with lines converging via it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care business logos can be one of the most difficult logo design jobs due to the fact that it appears that every dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company advertising, if restaurants approached their advertising in the very same way dental practitioners do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would probably include an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I actually love doing dentistry logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and eventually I created a layout that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was apparent was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a family members not-for-profit, the logo design features 4 characters surprised in elevation to stand for a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wishes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a logo that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The intention of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to describe exactly how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that describes itself will never have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo layout produced for a Anderson hair design workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a company logo which carried a feeling of tranquility and connection for their new hair salon. I came up with a design which didn’t go the obvious route of crafting simply a stylized orchid but rather created a company logo which implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the concept with the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is oftentimes the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead put the importance on the perception that they really wanted to forecast to their patrons.

Arabian horse logo style developed for a steed ranch that specializes in breeding Arabian show horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo designed a one-of-a-kind logo concept tailored to embody the unique physical traits of the Arabian type of horses. By having a distinctive head shape and higher tail posture, the Arabian is one of the most quite easily recognizable horse breeds in the world.

Las Cafe, A Anderson restaurant logo layout a little dining establishment, layout includes a modified manuscript font style which floats above a team of elaborate lines and dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo layout a tiny restaurant, style includes a modified script font which floats over a team of elaborate lines and also dots.

Logo layout for a software program developer the style features as well as iconic Anderson aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and hard drive managing. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a bridge in between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it intimated something to the owner of the business and in many cases the substance supporting a business logo is equally as important as how it serves the enterprise it stands for.

Advance logo style produced for a Andersonindoor designer, layout function a series of red circles that converge and replace the letter O in the middle of the logo design.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Anderson interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is a person who organizes, researches, coordinates, and oversees such ventures. Interior design is a multifaceted occupation that involves conceptual development, space planning, site examinations, programming, study, communicating with the stakeholders of a project, building and construction management, and implementation of the design.

logo layout provided for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Anderson, the characters for letter V and also A in middle of the word progressed have been customized to connect directly right into words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Anderson logo design job was performed for a leadership expert that helps business leaders to develop into more efficient at overseeing people, expectations, and productivity.

A Anderson business logo design featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly knew the market was ready for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a spot to market their secondhand goods to other sports enthusiasts.

I designed their Anderson business logo design along with an image that captures the interest of vehicles and projects an image that wakens the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.

Logo layout MQ farms, this Anderson company logo layout has a field incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem idea wasn’t really composed for an Anderson area farm it was actually designed for a commodities broker, and this particular creative logo was one of a handful of that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was to design a image that projected assurance, effectiveness, and affluence.

Anderson Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo layout attribute for externally facing arrowhead and the arrowheads imply that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what type of logo design that they wanted, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the flexibility to delve into any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye in the absence of recognizing where exactly the target is. Thankfully, in this case, I nailed a bullseye with the very first go.

Logo created for the use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font that is evocative a well-known Anderson sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted dozens of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project in which I worked closely with the business owner to create a logo design which worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
