Clemson Logo Design

Nearly every new Clemson business knows they need a logo, but few new business owners fully are aware of the essential role their logo design can play in their financial success, or precisely why one logo design works more effectively than another. A logo design has an immediate and long-term effect on the growth of a company, pick the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the life span of a company. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Clemson businesses succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t demand scrutiny, they can be realized in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable business logo will continue to be legible and equally emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the enterprise they represent.
  5. Relevance: a business logo must be timeless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from now.

Retro logo layout of a bicycle created for a Clemson coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and bistro were actually opening up in an older section of the community and wished to project a nostalgic feel without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I achieved both jobs by means of developing a symbol concept that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo style with a microscope slide as well as bacteria created for Clemson medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that analyzes the root causes and outcomes of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare that works with the laboratory examination of specimens of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the only instance I recall where I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Typically I try not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents rather literally, however it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more interesting, more interest grabbing and even more memorable.

logo design with a jumping green frog made for a household fun facility in Clemson.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the types of jobs that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental offices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the company has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a much more lively high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they utilized for marketing and advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and a tree - created for Clemson travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I think it is a niche profession because travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but instead reveal emotional journeys through the pictures they capture. The thought behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of almost all good photographers in that they often share entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be conveyed with just words. I attempted to do something the same to this logo design by making use of the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Clemson logo but also to illustrate the depth of her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Clemson logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of business logo design jobs that I take on I seriously savor and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A but my customer, while he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man truly hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members didn’t share his hatred for this particular kind of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage them to share it with colleagues and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get impartial point of views on the benefit of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they adored the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logos are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire an expert to design their business logo understand how essential a logo is for their organization so they are much more invested in the outcome. Every logo design project has it’s share of challenges, however the biggest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Clemson publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender piece of real estate to work with, but it is the most important part of a printed book considering that it is in most cases the very first thing a person sees in the bookstore. With respect to a publisher, it’s the opportunity that they will ever have to promote their brand and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design designed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars changed to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go but it seems that in many occurrences one of the things people usually tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest start-up commuter/shuttle airline company based in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a spirit of airline flight and it was surely a success.

Clemson logo design used for advertising and also a tag layout for Vintage Case features an antiquated font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in new cases for music instruments, which appeared to be older cases. For this logo design I tried to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be utilized for every thing from a website to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another generation.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Clemson, layout include an arc with lines intersecting through it to imply steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can easily be one of the most challenging logo design projects due to the fact that it appears that almost every dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company advertising, if restaurants approached their advertising in the exact same way dental professionals do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I really love doing dental logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a design that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a family members not-for-profit, the logo design features 4 characters staggered in height to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the families in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution hopes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a logo that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to explain how people should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If viewers have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that describes itself won’t have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo style produced for a hair design workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird and also an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo that conveyed a feeling of peace and elegance for their new hair studio. I came up with a design which did not go the obvious path of crafting merely a stylized orchid but alternatively delivered a logo design that implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the concept using the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is more often than not the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately put the importance on the perception that they wanted to project to their patrons.

Las Cafe logo design a small restaurant, style contains a customized manuscript typeface which floats over a group of ornate lines and dots.

Logo layout for a software program developer the design functions and iconic component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and disk operations. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a bridge in between the software program and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it represented something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the significance behind a logo design is just as important as how it brands the enterprise it stands for.

A logo layout featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly understood the market was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a spot to sell off their previously owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Clemson business logo dsign using a graphic that garners the attention of traffic and projects an image that arouses the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo layout has actually an area integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo idea wasn’t really composed for an Clemson regional farm it was in reality devised for an investments broker, and this trademark was one of several which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was really to produce a brand mark that projected esteem, success, and luxury.
Logo made for making use of an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript typeface that is reminiscent of a famous sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted quite a lot of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project in which I worked closely with the business owner to design a logo design which worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
