Hanahan Logo Design

Each and every new Hanahan venture realizes that they are in need of a logo, yet few new business owners thoroughly understand the vital role their logo can make in their success, or precisely why one logo design functions more effectively than another. A company logo has an instant and long term impact on the growth of a company, choose the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life span of a business. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Hanahan companies prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t demand deliberation, they can be realized in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable business logo will stay legible and just as emotive at every scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a business logo must be ageless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from today.

Retro logo design of a bicycle developed for a Hanahan coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and bistro were actually launching in an older part of the community and hoped to cast a nostalgic vibe without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I accomplished both of these jobs by means of creating a symbol design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo design with a microscopic lense slide and germs made for Hanahan medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that researches the causes and effects of diseases, especially the field of healthcare which deals with the clinical examination of samples of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the only instance I recall in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be overly literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it serves rather literally, however it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more captivating, more interest grabbing and even more memorable.

logo style with a jumping environment-friendly frog designed for a family fun facility in Hanahan.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental practices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the business features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to integrate a couple of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more enthusiastic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a flock of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and a tree - designed for Hanahan traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche field because travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but instead communicate emotional journeys by means of the pictures they capture. The idea behind this logo composition was to make use of negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of the majority of good photographers in that they oftentimes convey whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be conveyed with just words. I tried to do something similar to this logo by using the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Hanahan logo design but also to reveal the depth in her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Hanahan logo style with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of custom logo design jobs that I take on I genuinely savor and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A but my client, while he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy seriously loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family members did not share his hatred for this specific kind of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage all of them to discuss it with colleagues and family as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get impartial opinions on the benefit of a concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they adored the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Business logos are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire a professional to create their logo understand how crucial a logo design is for their business so they are much more vested in the outcome. Every logo project possesses it’s share of hurdles, but the biggest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, design for Hanahan book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin piece of real estate to work with, however it really is the most essential part of a published book considering that it is ordinarily the primary thing a person views in the book store. With respect to a publisher, it’s the optimal opportunity that they will ever get to promote their label and get their logo design in front of the people that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with the bars customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart nevertheless it seems that in many instances 1 of the aspects consumers often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest fledgling commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their organization logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a spirit of air travel and it was undoubtedly a success.

Hanahan logo style made use of for marketing as well as a tag layout for Vintage Situation includes an old typeface design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in new cases for music instruments, which looked to be antique cases. For this business logo design I sought to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid old style feel to it and could be used for everything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another generation.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Hanahan, layout include an arc with lines converging via it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can easily be one of the most challenging logo jobs considering that it seems that virtually every dental professional includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to company advertising, if dining establishments approached their branding in the very same way dental practitioners do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would most likely include an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I actually love doing dental business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and ultimately I created a concept that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a family not-for-profit, the logo features 4 personalities surprised in elevation to represent a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the families in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution hopes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to summarize exactly how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo that describes itself will never have the chance to be understood.

Logo layout produced for a hair design studio featuring a script font a hummingbird as well as an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a business logo which carried an atmosphere of tranquility and connection for their new hair salon. I created a design that didn’t go the obvious route of crafting merely a stylized orchid but rather created a business logo which implied a flower in the formation of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the logo design using the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is generally the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the importance on the feeling that they wanted to forecast to their patrons.

Arabian horse logo layout developed for an equine ranch that focuses on breeding Arabian program steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo created a one-of-a-kind logotype design tailored to exemplify the unique physical traits of the Arabian type of equines. With a distinctive head shape and high tail posture, the Arabian is one of the very most quite easily recognizable horse types in the entire world.

Las Coffee shop logo style a little restaurant, layout contains a changed manuscript font style which hovers over a group of elaborate lines and also dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo design a tiny dining establishment, style includes a customized manuscript font style which floats above a group of luxuriant lines as well as dots.

Logo design for a software programmer the layout functions as well as famous element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and disk operations. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a connection in between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it meant something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the symbolism behind a logo design is equally as important as how it serves the business it represents.

Advance logo design developed for a Hanahan interior developer, layout attribute a collection of red circles that intersect and change the letter O in the middle of the logo design.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Hanahan interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. Interior design is a diverse profession that includes conceptual development, space planning, location examinations, programming, research study, corresponding with the stakeholders of a project, building and construction supervision, and implementation of the design.

logo style provided for Advanced Management Solutions, the personalities for letter V as well as A in center of the word progressed have been customized to tie directly into the words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Hanahan logo design assignment was performed for a leadership expert that helps business leaders to develop into more effective at overseeing people, expectations, and productivity.

A logo style including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly understood the market was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a location to sell off their used goods to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Hanahan logo design dsign along with a graphic which captures the interest of traffic and projects an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo style has an area included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo idea wasn’t really created for an Hanahan regional farm it was really designed for a products broker, and this particular brand was one of multiple which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was really to make a brand mark that projected self-assurance, financial success, and wealth.
Logo design designed for the use of a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript typeface that is reminiscent of a popular sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed dozens of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project where I worked directly with the owner to produce a business logo that worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
