Hilton Head Island Logo Design

Each and every new Hilton Head Island company understands that they need a logo, yet few entrepreneurs entirely comprehend the pivotal role their organization logo can take in their becoming successful, or exactly why one business logo functions far better than another. A logo has an immediate and sustaining impact on the success of a business, select the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, select the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the life of an organization. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Hilton Head Island businesses succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require scrutiny, they can be comprehended in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo will be legible and equally emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo must be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from today.

Retro logo design of a bike developed for a Hilton Head Island coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually launching in an old section of the town and wanted to visualize a retro feel without appearing as uninteresting or low energy. I fulfilled each of the jobs by developing a sign design that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscope slide and bacteria made for Hilton Head Island medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that analyzes the causes and effects of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare that deals with the laboratory assessment of samplings of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the only instance I remember in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Usually I try not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves rather literally, yet it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that makes it more interesting, more attention grabbing and a lot more memorable.

logo design with a jumping environment-friendly frog developed for a family fun facility in Hilton Head Island.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the types of jobs that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dentists, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a couple of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a more lively high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for advertising and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a group of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and also a tree - designed for Hilton Head Island travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but instead convey emotional journeys through the pictures they record. The thought behind this logo concept was to use negative space to project more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of almost all professional photographers in that they frequently tell entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be revealed with just words. I tried to do something the same to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Hilton Head Island logo design but also to illustrate the depth to her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Hilton Head Island logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design jobs that I take on I seriously take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A but my client, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy seriously hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family members did not share his contempt for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge them to discuss it with friends and family as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get unprejudiced assessments on the merit of a design. Fortunately, he discussed it with his whole family and they loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a strange creature in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to create their logo design understand how essential a logo design is for their business so they are way more invested in the end result. Every logo design project has it’s share of challenges, but the largest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Hilton Head Island publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin parcel of real estate to work with, however it is the most critical part of a published book since it is in most cases the initial thing a person sees in the book shop. With respect to a publisher, it’s the optimal opportunity they will likely ever have to promote their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design designed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches customized to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart yet it seems like that in many occurrences one of the aspects individuals tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small start-up commuter/shuttle airline company based in LA and although I’m not sure it actually “took off” their logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to imparting a good sense of airline flight and it was definitely a winner.

Hilton Head Island logo layout used for advertising and a label style for Vintage Situation includes an old-fashioned font style design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for musical instruments, that seemed to be antique cases. For this logo concept I strove to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be utilized for every thing from a web site to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different point in time.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Hilton Head Island, layout include an arc with lines intersecting via it to imply metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can be one of the most difficult logo jobs because it appears that every dentist features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business marketing, if dining establishments approached their branding in the same way dental offices do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I really love doing dentistry logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a family not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 characters surprised in height to stand for a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be overly literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wants to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a logo which communicated that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to illustrate how people should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo that illustrates itself will never have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo design developed for a hair design studio featuring a script font a hummingbird and also a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo design which communicated a feeling of calmness and elegance for their new hair studio. I created a concept which did not go the obvious path of designing merely a stylized orchid but rather designed a logo that implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the logo design along with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is more often than not the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the emphasis on the feeling that they really wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Arabian steed logo design developed for a steed ranch that concentrates on breeding Arabian show equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo layout for a software program developer the design attributes and famous component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and drive managing. The kernel connects the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a bridge in between the software program and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it meant something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the meaning behind a company logo is just as important as how it brands the enterprise it represents.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

A logo layout featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly knew the market was ready for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a location to sell their used equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Hilton Head Island logo dsign using an illustration which garners the interest of traffic and sends an image that invokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo design has an area included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo design wasn’t really created for an Hilton Head Island regional farm it was really developed for a commodities broker, and this particular company logo was one of a handful of which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was really to develop a image that projected assurance, financial success, and prosperity.
Logo design created for using a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript font style that is similar to a renowned sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted quite a lot of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking in which I worked directly with the proprietor to create a logo that worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
