TIPS ON FINDING THE RIGHT LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo design is an investment in both your time and your money so when a design agency presents a money back guarantee try to bear in mind that they can not reimburse the time you invest which is much more precious than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Some design firms talk a good game but in the end a design firm can only be evaluated by the quality of their portfolio, if the work in their portfolio does not feature real life samples chances are they will not be able to deliver a quality logo design.

VISION

A logo’s goal is to be recognized and be unforgettable, and it’s objective is to reflect your unique vision for your company. If a designer isn’t focused on actualizing your vision, the thing they are really focused on is how soon they will get paid.

Hilton Head LOGO DESIGN

For over two decades ImageCo has been helping start ups and entrepreneurs establish unforgettable brands. We’ve performed branding work for farmers, educational institutions, heart surgeons, party planners, restaurants, retailers, and virtually every other kind of business you can think of. What makes ImageCo different compared to our contemporaries is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we approach every branding project as though it will be employed as an electric sign. Because of our sign first method our identity designs can, and have been used in everything from fashion labels to billboards. Our sign first method insures that our logo designs are equally successful whether they are used in TV commercials or website headers, they are consistently identifiable, understood, and remembered regardless of size or application.

American Made ★ Design

The one difference which truly sets ImageCo apart from many of the design firms that you might have encountered in Google’s search results, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that each and every design project we are hired to do, we do in-house. No matter the kind of design project we accept, logo design, website, trade show exhibition, or electric sign, we do not, and never will farm-out our customer’s projects to contractors located outside the US. When you phone us at 1-855-IMAGECO the person that answers the telephone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a broker that marks up the cost of your design project and imposes the terms of how we conduct business.

CHARACTERISTICS OF AN EFFECTIVE LOGO DESIGN

It’s likely that every new Hilton Head company knows they need a logo, but few start-ups fully recognize the pivotal role their company logo will play in their becoming successful, or why one logo performs more effectively than another. A logo has an instant and long-term influence on the financial success of a business, select the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life of an organization. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Hilton Head companies succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require consideration, they can be comprehended in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from clothing labels to posters a scalable business logo will continue to be legible and equally emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel right, and they are suitable for the product or company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a business logo must be lasting and will feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from today.

understand your brand

Brand – It’s a verb as well as a noun, it is an identifying mark and the act of marking something to ensure that it can be recognized, its foundation originates from the mark burned onto livestock. These days a brand symbolizes practically anything with an objective, regardless if it be earnings or government agencies, a brand is an intrinsic aspect of specifying the value of a specific thing in the public’s mind.

Branding – Is sort of like advertising and marketing’s sexy cousin, they are both from the exact same family, the difference being that marketing and advertising are about making a promise and branding’s goal is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a strategic popularity contest targeted at a target market, it’s goal is to create an image that the audience will likely identify with.

Brand Image – An image planted and nurtured through advertising and marketing as well as identity design. When someone mentions the names Ferrari or Mustang what we consider is their brand image, it’s a picture that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a vehicle with 4 wheels that can deliver us from point A to point B, the image we have (or at least I have) is of freedom, beauty, of something dangerous and exotic . That is brand image and that is what makes individuals purchase those brands. Brand image is why people buy specific brands, from Nike to Adidas Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that we can identify with.

Branding Companies – If you reflect on the origin of a lot of branding agencies you’ll discover that they are quite often re-branded marketing agencies. When someone claims they are in advertising the majority of people will likely have an idea about what they do. Yet when somebody claims “I’m in branding”… it just sounds more impressive, maybe it’s due to the fact that most people don’t recognize what it indicates to be in branding so it comes off as mysterious and even attractive.

Brand Identity – Is a comprehensive term that defines the visual components of a product or agency that affect view points. This primarily includes the name, the logo design, the product packaging, the different colors used however can additionally consist of audio, illumination, texture, signs, really anything that can be seen, touched or heard become part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designer
– A brand identity designer is a visual designer that specializes in a type of visual design which helps form the image of a business, a product or an organization. Brand identity designers create logo designs, signage designs, packaging, as well as collateral material such as cards, stationery, and also sales brochures. Some identity designers also design sites and also user interfaces. The essential duty of a brand identity designer is to develop the visual cues as well as a psychological tone with the goal of influencing activities, end results and understandings.

Featured signs/logos

Retro logo style of a bike created for a Hilton Head coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffee bar were opening in an older part of the city and wanted to visualize a retro feel without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I fulfilled both of these jobs via designing a sign design that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo style with a microscopic lense slide and also bacteria created for Hilton Head clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that examines the triggers and outcomes of diseases, especially the field of healthcare which works with the clinical examination of specimens of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the sole instance I remember in which I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves rather literally, but it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more interesting, more interest grabbing and even more unforgettable.

logo style with a leaping eco-friendly frog developed for a household enjoyable facility in Hilton Head.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental experts, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the company features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to feature a couple springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not actually reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a better dynamic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I created was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design including a flock of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, and also a tree - created for Hilton Head traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche profession because travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but instead convey emotional journeys through the pictures they capture. The thought behind this logo composition was to make use of negative space to project more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of almost all professional photographers in that they frequently convey whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness which can’t be conveyed with just words. I tried to do something comparable to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Hilton Head logo but also to show the depth in her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Hilton Head logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design projects that I take on I truly take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A but the customer, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular guy seriously despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members did not share his hatred for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage all of them to share it with friends and family members as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get impartial viewpoints on the worthiness of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family and they loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logo designs are a weird animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire a professional to design their logo design recognize how crucial a logo design is for their organization so they are much more vested in the end result. Every logo design project possesses it’s allotment of hurdles, however the most significant obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Hilton Head publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow segment of real estate to work with, however it is the most vital part of a published book since it is in most cases the very first thing a person views in the book shop. With regard to a publishing company, it’s the optimal opportunity they will ever have to advertise their product and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches changed to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go nevertheless it seems like that in many instances 1 of the aspects consumers often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young new venture commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their organization logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a spirit of airline flight and it was definitely a victory.

Hilton Head logo layout utilized for advertising and marketing and a label style for Vintage Instance features an archaic typeface style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand-new cases for music instruments, which appeared to be older cases. For this custom logo concept I attempted to come up with a logo that provided a fluid vintage feel to it and could be utilized for every thing from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different generation.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Hilton Head, style consist of an arc with lines converging via it to imply metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can be one of the most challenging logo projects due to the fact that it appears that each and every dental professional includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business branding, if dining establishments approached their branding in the exact same way dental offices do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would probably include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I really love doing dental care business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a concept that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 personalities surprised in height to represent a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wishes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a logo that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The aim of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to describe specifically how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If people have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that describes itself will never have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo layout created for a Hilton Head hair design workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo which related an atmosphere of peace and class for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept which did not go the obvious course of creating just a stylized orchid but instead created a logo that implied a flower in the formation of a swirl incorporated into the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the concept along with the figure of a hummingbird floating over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is oftentimes the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately put the importance on the emotion that they wanted to forecast to their customers.

Arabian equine logo design created for a horse cattle ranch that specializes in reproducing Arabian program horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo developed an original organization logo concept customized to symbolize the unique physical traits of the Arabian breed of horses. With a different head form and very high tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the most immediately recognizable equine breeds in the whole world.

Las Cafe, A Hilton Head restaurant logo layout a tiny dining establishment, layout includes a modified script font style which hovers above a team of ornate lines and dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo layout a small dining establishment, style includes a changed manuscript font style which floats above a team of ornate lines and also dots.

Logo design for a software application programmer the layout attributes as well as iconic Hilton Head component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and drive management. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a bridge in between the software and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it represented something to the owner of the company and in many cases the meaning supporting a company logo is equally as important as how it brands the company it represents.

Progress logo design developed for a Hilton Headindoor designer, design attribute a collection of red circles that intersect and change the letter O in the middle of the logo design.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Hilton Head interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is somebody who arranges, researches, coordinates, and oversees such projects. Interior design is a diverse occupation that involves conceptual development, space planning, location assessments, programming, research study, interacting with the stakeholders of a project, construction management, and implementation of the design.

logo layout done for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Hilton Head, the characters for letter V and A in center of the word progressed have actually been changed to link straight right into the words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Hilton Head logo design project was done for a leadership expert that aids business professionals to become more efficient at supervising people, expectations, and profitability.

A Hilton Head business logo style including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly knew the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a spot to sell their used items to other sports enthusiasts.

I designed their Hilton Head logo design utilizing an illustration which captures the attention of vehicles and projects an image that wakens the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.

Logo layout MQ ranches, this Hilton Head company logo layout has an area included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand concept wasn’t really developed for an Hilton Head regional farm it was really devised for a products broker, and this particular trademark was one of a handful of which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was to create a graphic that projects esteem, financial success, and wealth.

Hilton Head Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo design feature for ostensibly facing arrowhead and also the arrowheads indicate that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what type of logo design they wanted, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the freedom to explore any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye without understanding where exactly the target is. Thankfully, in this particular case, I hit a bullseye with the first go.

Logo created for using a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font that is reminiscent of a renowned Hilton Head sports group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created loads of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the United States, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking where I worked directly with the proprietor to create a business logo which worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
