Hilton Head Logo Design

Nearly every new Hilton Head organization realizes that they are in need of a logo, yet few entrepreneurs entirely comprehend the key role their organization logo will take in their financial success, or why one logo design works better than another. A business logo has a critical and sustaining effect on the growth of a business, choose the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, choose the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the life span of a business. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Hilton Head businesses prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require consideration, they can be grasped in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo design will continue to be legible and just as emotive at every scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo design needs to be lasting and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from today.

Retro logo style of a bike produced for a Hilton Head coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee bar were opening in an old part of the community and hoped to cast a vintage vibe without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I achieved the two jobs via developing a logo concept that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo design with a microscope slide and also bacteria developed for Hilton Head clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that studies the root causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine which deals with the clinical examination of samples of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the sole instance I recall where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Usually I try not to be excessively literal with a design and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, however it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more appealing, more focus grabbing and much more memorable.

logo layout with a jumping green frog made for a family fun facility in Hilton Head.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental offices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the business has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to include a few springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not actually reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a more enthusiastic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - created for Hilton Head travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche profession because travel photographers don’t capture places or things but rather communicate emotional journeys by means of the photos they record. The idea behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of the majority of good photographers in that they oftentimes tell whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be revealed with just words. I made an effort to do something similar to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Hilton Head logo design but also to show the depth of her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Hilton Head logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design jobs that I take on I honestly savor and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A however my client, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man truly hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family members didn’t share his contempt for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage all of them to discuss it with colleagues and family members as well as with folks that they don’t even know so as to get unprejudiced opinions on the merit of a concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his whole family and they really liked the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logo designs are a weird creature in the design world because the people that tend to hire an expert to design their logo comprehend how essential a logo design is for their company so they are much more vested in the outcome. Every logo design job possesses it’s share of difficulties, but the most significant obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, design for Hilton Head book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped piece of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most vital part of a printed book considering that it is ordinarily the first thing a person views in the bookstore. Concerning a publisher, it’s the best opportunity that they will likely ever get to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with the bars changed to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart nevertheless it seems like that in many occurrences one of the things individuals usually tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest startup commuter/shuttle airline company located in LA and although I’m not sure it actually “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a good sense of flight and it was definitely a victory.

Hilton Head logo layout used for advertising and marketing and a tag layout for Vintage Case features an antiquated typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for musical instruments, which looked to be antique cases. For this brand concept I sought to come up with a logo that had a fluid retro feel to it and could be utilized for everything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different generation.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Hilton Head, layout include an arc with lines converging with it to imply steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logos can be one of the most challenging logo projects due to the fact that it seems that virtually every dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business marketing, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the very same way dental practices do every one of their logo designs would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I really enjoy doing dental logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and inevitably I created a design that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a family nonprofit, the logo features 4 personalities staggered in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the families in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be overly literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization hopes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to summarize how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that illustrates itself won’t have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo layout created for a hair layout studio featuring a script font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo design which communicated an atmosphere of calmness and connection for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept which did not go the obvious path of designing simply a stylized orchid but instead delivered a logo that implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the concept with the figure of a hummingbird floating over the image itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is oftentimes the wrong course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately laid the attention on the emotion that they wanted to project to their patrons.

Logo design for a software program developer the layout features as well as famous element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and drive managing. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a connection between the software program and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it meant something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the meaning supporting a company logo is equally as important as how it brands the enterprise it represents.

Advance logo layout developed for a Hilton Head interior developer, design feature a series of red circles that converge and change the letter O in the center of the logo layout.

A logo style featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly understood the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a spot to market their used items to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Hilton Head logo dsign utilizing a graphic which seizes the interest of traffic and sends an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo design has actually an area integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo design wasn’t actually composed for an Hilton Head regional farm it was really designed for a products broker, and this trademark was one of several that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was really to make a brand mark that projects self-confidence, success, and prosperity.
Logo created for the use of an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script font that is similar to a renowned sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created dozens of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project where I worked directly with the business owner to create a logo design that worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
