Sun City Logo Design

Every new Sun City company understands that they require a logo, however few new business owners fully recognize the key role their logo design will take in their financial success, or why one business logo performs more effectively than another. A logo design has an instant and long-term impact on the financial success of a company, choose the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, select the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the life of a company. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Sun City companies prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require deliberation, they can be grasped in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo will remain legible and just as emotive at virtually any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the organization they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo should be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from today.

Retro logo layout of a bicycle developed for a Sun City coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffeehouse were actually opening in an older section of the town and wanted to project a nostalgic vibe without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I achieved the two jobs by designing a trademark concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo style with a microscope slide as well as germs created for Sun City clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which investigates the causes and consequences of diseases, especially the field of medicine which deals with the clinical evaluation of specimens of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I remember where I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Typically I try not to be excessively literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves quite literally, however it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more appealing, more attention grabbing and even more memorable.

logo design with a jumping eco-friendly frog developed for a family members fun facility in Sun City.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental practices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the business features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to feature a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more enthusiastic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they utilized for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo including a group of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - designed for Sun City travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but rather convey emotional experiences by means of the images they capture. The idea behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of most professional photographers in that they frequently tell whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be revealed with just words. I made an effort to do something comparable to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Sun City logo but also to show the depth in her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Sun City logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design projects that I take on I honestly relish and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A but the customer, while he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy seriously loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family members did not share his aversion for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge all of them to share it with colleagues and family members as well as with folks that they don’t even know so as to get unprejudiced viewpoints on the benefit of a design concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logo designs are a weird animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire a professional to create their business logo recognize how crucial a logo design is for their organization so they are much more vested in the end result. Every logo project possesses it’s share of obstacles, however the most significant challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, style for Sun City publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped segment of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most necessary part of a published book because it is in most cases the first thing a person sees in the bookstore. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will likely ever get to promote their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart nevertheless it seems that in many instances 1 of the traits people tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest start-up commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to conferring a good sense of airline flight and it was undoubtedly a winner.

Sun City logo design utilized for marketing and a label design for Vintage Instance includes an old-fashioned font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for music instruments, which seemed to be vintage cases. For this logo concept I tried to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could be utilized for every thing from a web site to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different era.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Sun City, design consist of an arc with lines intersecting with it to indicate steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care business logos can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo jobs considering that it seems that every single dental professional integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to small business advertising, if restaurants approached their advertising in the same way dental offices do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would likely include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really enjoy doing dental care business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a layout that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was apparent was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a family members nonprofit, the logo design features 4 personalities surprised in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wishes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to describe specifically how people should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If viewers have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo that describes itself will never have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo layout developed for a hair design studio featuring a script font a hummingbird and also a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a company logo which carried a spirit of calmness and class for their new hair studio. I created a design which didn’t go the obvious route of designing simply a stylized orchid but rather delivered a logo design that suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl featured into the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the concept using the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is in most cases the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead put the main focus on the emotion that they really wanted to project to their patrons.

Arabian equine logo design developed for a horse ranch that focuses on reproducing Arabian show equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Las Cafe logo style a tiny restaurant, layout includes a changed script typeface which hovers over a team of ornate lines and dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo style a small dining establishment, style includes a customized manuscript font style which floats above a team of ornate lines as well as dots.

Logo layout for a software application programmer the layout attributes as well as iconic element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and drive operations. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a connection in between the software program and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it intimated something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the meaning supporting a business logo is equally as important as how it brands the enterprise it stands for.

Evolve logo layout produced for a Sun City indoor designer, style attribute a series of red circles that converge as well as replace the letter O in the middle of the logo layout.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

A logo design including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly understood the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a location to sell their pre-owned items to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Sun City logo design dsign along with an illustration which garners the interest of traffic and sends an image that invokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo layout has an area integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo concept wasn’t really designed for an Sun City regional farm it was really created for a products broker, and this particular creative logo was one of several which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was really to make an identity that projected self-confidence, effectiveness, and wealth.
Logo design made for the use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font that is reminiscent of a famous sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created dozens of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking in which I worked closely with the proprietor to develop a logo that worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
