Sun City West Logo Design

Virtually every new Sun City West venture knows they are in need of a logo, but few new business owners thoroughly recognize the pivotal role their business logo will make in their success, or exactly why one logo design works more effectively than another. A logo design has an instant and long-term effect on the growth of a company, choose the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life span of a company. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Sun City West businesses prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not require consideration, they can be comprehended in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable business logo will continue to be legible and equally emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the organization they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo must be ageless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from today.

Retro logo design of a bike created for a Sun City West coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffee shop were opening up in an old section of the city and really wanted to visualize a vintage vibe without coming across as boring or low energy. I achieved both of these jobs by designing a company logo design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo design with a microscope slide and also germs developed for Sun City West clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which studies the root causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare that works with the clinical examination of specimens of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I recall in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Typically I attempt not to be excessively literal with a design and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents very literally, however it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more appealing, more focus grabbing and much more memorable.

logo style with a leaping eco-friendly frog developed for a household enjoyable center in Sun City West.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental offices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to integrate a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a better enthusiastic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for advertising and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, as well as a tree - created for Sun City West traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche area because travel photographers don’t capture places or things but rather reveal emotional journeys through the images they capture. The thought behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of almost all good photographers in that they frequently share whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be conveyed with mere words. I attempted to do something very similar to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Sun City West logo but also to reveal the depth to her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Sun City West logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design projects that I take on I honestly enjoy and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A but my client, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular guy genuinely disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members did not share his hatred for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage all of them to share it with colleagues and family members as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get honest judgements on the benefit of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a strange creature in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire a professional to create their logo design understand how crucial a logo is for their business so they are way more vested in the outcome. Every logo design job has it’s portion of obstacles, but the most significant obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Sun City West book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow parcel of real estate to work with, however it is the most necessary part of a printed book because it is in most cases the primary thing a person sees in the book shop. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the absolute best opportunity that they will likely ever get to promote their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars customized to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart nevertheless it seems that in many cases 1 of the aspects consumers often tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest new venture commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to imparting a feeling of flight and it was surely a success.

Sun City West logo layout made use of for advertising and marketing as well as a label style for Vintage Case includes an old font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for musical instruments, that seemed to be older cases. For this brand design I strove to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be used for everything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different point in time.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Sun City West, design consist of an arc with lines intersecting through it to indicate metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can be one of the most difficult logo design jobs considering that it seems that every single dentist integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business branding, if restaurants approached their branding in the exact same way dental practitioners do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would probably contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I really enjoy doing dentistry logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a family nonprofit, the logo features 4 personalities surprised in elevation to stand for a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wishes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo that communicated that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to describe specifically how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If viewers have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that describes itself will never have the chance to be understood.

Logo style produced for a hair style studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird and an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo which communicated a spirit of ease and connection for their new hair studio. I came up with a design which didn’t go the obvious route of designing just a stylized orchid but alternatively crafted a company logo which implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the logo design using the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the image itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is frequently the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately laid the attention on the feeling that they really wanted to project to their customers.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo design for a software program programmer the layout features and also famous aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and hard drive operations. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a bridge between the software and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it represented something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the symbolism supporting a logo design is equally as important as how it brands the business it stands for.

A logo layout including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly knew the market was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a spot to sell off their used products to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Sun City West logo design dsign utilizing a graphic which seizes the attention of traffic and projects an image that invokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo style has actually a field included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo idea wasn’t actually composed for an Sun City West area farm it was really devised for a products broker, and this particular company logo was one of multiple which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. Logo created for making use of an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script font style that is reminiscent of a renowned sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created loads of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking in which I worked closely with the proprietor to create a logo design that worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
