Tempe Logo Design

Each and every new Tempe company realizes that they are in need of a logo, but few entrepreneurs entirely recognize the vital role their logo design can play in their becoming successful, or why one logo design works more effectively than another. A logo design has an immediate and lasting impact on the success of a company, select the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the life span of a company. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Tempe companies succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t demand consideration, they can be realized in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable business logo will remain legible and equally emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a business logo should be enduring and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from today.

Retro logo layout of a bike created for a Tempe coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffeehouse were opening in an older part of the community and wanted to project a retro feel without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I achieved each of the tasks via creating a custom logo concept that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo style with a microscopic lense slide and also germs made for Tempe medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which analyzes the root causes and effects of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare that deals with the clinical examination of specimens of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the sole instance I call to mind in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Usually I try not to be overly literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves very literally, however it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more captivating, more attention grabbing and more meaningful.

logo design with a jumping eco-friendly frog created for a family enjoyable facility in Tempe.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental professionals, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the company has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to include a few springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a better enthusiastic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for promotion and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a group of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, and also a tree - designed for Tempe travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche sector because travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but instead project emotional experiences through the photos they record. The idea behind this logo composition was to use negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of almost all professional photographers in that they often share whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be communicated with just words. I tried to do something comparable to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Tempe logo but also to illustrate the depth in her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Tempe logo style with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of custom logo design projects that I take on I honestly enjoy and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A but the client, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man seriously loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his contempt for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge them to talk about it with colleagues and family as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get impartial judgements on the value of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his whole family and they really liked the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logos are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that tend to hire an expert to design their logo design realize how vital a logo design is for their business so they are way more vested in the final result. Every logo project possesses it’s allotment of difficulties, but the biggest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, design for Tempe publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin slice of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most necessary part of a printed book considering that it is often the initial thing a person sees in the book store. With regard to a publisher, it’s the opportunity they will ever have to advertise their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that buy actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches customized to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go but it looks like that in many cases 1 of the traits people tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest startup commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to imparting a spirit of airline flight and it was surely a winner.

Tempe logo design utilized for advertising and marketing as well as a tag design for Vintage Situation includes an old-fashioned typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for musical instruments, that seemed to be older cases. For this custom logo concept I sought to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be used for everything from a web site to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another point in time.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Tempe, layout consist of an arc with lines converging with it to indicate steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can be one of the most difficult logo projects due to the fact that it appears that each and every dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company marketing, if restaurants approached their advertising in the exact same way dentists do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would probably have an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I actually love doing dentist logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a design that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a household not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 characters surprised in elevation to represent a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the families in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be overly literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wishes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design which communicated that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to summarize exactly how people should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If you have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that explains itself will never have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo style created for a hair layout workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird and also an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a company logo which related an atmosphere of tranquility and connection for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept which didn’t go the obvious route of creating simply a stylized orchid but alternatively delivered a logo that suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl featured into the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the concept using the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is more often than not the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately laid the emphasis on the perception that they really wanted to forecast to their customers.

Logo layout for a software designer the style functions and also renowned aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and drive operations. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it symbolized something to the owner of the company and in many cases the meaning supporting a company logo is just as important as how it serves the company it stands for.

A logo design featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly realized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a place to sell off their pre-owned goods to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Tempe business logo dsign utilizing an illustration that pulls in the interest of traffic and projects an image that arouses the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo style has a field integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo concept wasn’t really created for an Tempe area farm it was really designed for an investments broker, and this particular trademark was one of several which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was really to develop an identity that projects self-assurance, success, and prosperity.
Logo created for using a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font that is evocative a popular sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted loads of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking in which I worked closely with the owner to produce a logo which worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
