Tennessee Logo Design

Virtually every new Tennessee company knows they need a logo, but few entrepreneurs fully understand the pivotal role their organization’s logo can perform in their becoming successful, or why one logo performs more effectively than another. A company logo has a critical and long term impact on the growth of a business, select the correct one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the longevity of a business.

The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Tennessee  companies prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these 5 traits in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require scrutiny, they can be understood in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from labels to billboards a scalable business logo will stay legible and equally emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos which operate on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a business logo needs to be enduring and will feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from now.
Retro logo style of a bike developed for a Tennessee, Tennessee coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffeehouse were actually opening up in an old section of the city and hoped to visualize an old-fashioned vibe without appearing as uninteresting or low energy. I accomplished each of the tasks by means of designing a logo concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscope slide as well as bacteria made for Tennessee, Tennessee clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that investigates the triggers and outcomes of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare which works with the laboratory assessment of samples of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the sole instance I remember in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents rather literally, but it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more captivating, more focus grabbing and more memorable.

logo design with a leaping environment-friendly frog developed for a family fun facility in Tennessee, Tennessee.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the usual of the types of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental offices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the company features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to include a couple springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a more dynamic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for advertising and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - developed for Tennessee, Tennessee traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche profession because travel photographers tend not to capture places or things but rather reveal emotional experiences by means of the photos they record. The idea behind this logo composition was to make use of negative space to project more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of most good photographers in that they oftentimes convey entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be conveyed with mere words. I made an effort to do something the same to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Tennessee logo design but also to show the depth of her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Tennessee logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design jobs that I take on I really savor and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A but my client, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man really loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family members did not share his aversion for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge them to discuss it with friends and family members as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get unprejudiced judgements on the worthiness of a concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family and they adored the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logos are a strange animal in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to create their logo design realize how important a logo design is for their company so they are way more invested in the final result. Every logo design job possesses it’s allotment of hurdles, however the biggest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, style for Tennessee, Tennessee book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow segment of real estate to work with, yet it is the most important part of a published book considering that it is in most cases the very first thing a person views in the bookstore. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the opportunity they will ever have to advertise their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go however it seems like that in many cases 1 of the traits folks usually tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller new venture commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and although I’m not sure it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to conferring a sense of airline flight and it was certainly a victory.

Tennessee logo style utilized for marketing and a tag design for Vintage Case features an antiquated typeface design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for musical instruments, that looked to be vintage cases. For this brand concept I strove to come up with a logo that had a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be utilized for everything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different generation.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Tennessee, Tennessee, design include an arc with lines converging with it to imply steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can be one of the most difficult logo design jobs considering that it appears that almost every dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company marketing, if restaurants approached their advertising in the very same way dental professionals do every one of their logos would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would probably have an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I actually love doing dentistry logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and subsequently I created a concept that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a household not-for-profit, the logo design features 4 characters staggered in elevation to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the residents in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wishes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to explain exactly how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If you have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that illustrates itself will never have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo design created for a hair style studio featuring a script font a hummingbird and also an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a logo that projected a sense of peace and elegance for their new hair salon. I came up with a design that did not go the obvious path of designing just a stylized orchid but rather delivered a company logo that suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the logo design with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the image itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is oftentimes the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead put the main focus on the emotion that they really wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Logo design for a software application developer the design functions and also legendary component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and disk managing. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection in between the software and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it represented something to the owner of the business and in many cases the meaning supporting a company logo is equally as important as how it brands the organization it represents.

A logo design including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly recognized the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a place to market their secondhand goods to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Tennessee logo dsign along with a graphic that captures the attention of vehicles and projects an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo layout has actually an area integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo design wasn’t really composed for an Tennessee, Tennessee area farm it was really devised for a products broker, and this particular brand was one of several that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was to generate a brand mark that projects self-confidence, financial success, and luxury.

Tennessee Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo layout attribute for externally dealing with arrow as well as the arrowheads suggest that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what kind of logo design that they would like, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it grants a designer the freedom to discover any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye in the absence of understanding where the target is. Fortunately, in this instance, I hit a bullseye with the very first shot.

Logo design created for the use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font style that is similar to a renowned sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed loads of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking where I worked directly with the business owner to create a business logo that worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
