Chattanooga, Tennessee Logo Design

Each and every new Chattanooga company knows they are in need of a logo, yet few entrepreneurs entirely grasp the pivotal role their logo can take in their financial success, or why one logo design performs better than another. A logo design has an immediate and sustaining effect on the financial success of a business, select the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, select the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the longevity of an organization.

The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Chattanooga, Tennessee businesses prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 traits in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not require deliberation, they can be grasped in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable business logo will continue to be legible and equally emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the enterprise they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo needs to be lasting and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo style of a bicycle produced for a Chattanooga, Tennessee coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and cafe were opening in an older section of the city and hoped to visualize a retro vibe without appearing as boring or low energy. I fulfilled both of these jobs by means of designing a custom logo concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a enduring business image.

medical logo style with a microscopic lense slide and germs designed for Chattanooga, Tennessee medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which analyzes the causes and outcomes of diseases, especially the field of medicine which deals with the clinical examination of specimens of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the only instance I recall in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Generally I try not to be overly literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, yet it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more captivating, more attention grabbing and more unforgettable.

logo design with a jumping eco-friendly frog developed for a family members fun facility in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the usual of the types of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental professionals, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a much more lively high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a group of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, and a tree - made for Chattanooga, Tennessee travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche field because travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but instead project emotional experiences by means of the images they capture. The idea behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of most professional photographers in that they oftentimes share entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be communicated with just words. I made an effort to do something similar to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Chattanooga logo design but also to show the depth of her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Chattanooga logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of logo design projects that I take on I seriously savor and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A but the client, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This man really loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family did not share his scorn for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage them to talk about it with colleagues and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get neutral judgements on the worthiness of a concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they really loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logo designs are a weird creature in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire an expert to create their business logo realize how vital a logo design is for their business so they are much more invested in the end result. Every logo design project has it’s allotment of challenges, but the biggest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Chattanooga, Tennessee publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped piece of real estate to work with, however it really is the most necessary part of a published book given that it is in most cases the very first thing a person views in the book shop. Concerning a publishing company, it’s the absolute best opportunity that they will likely ever get to advertise their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches modified to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go nevertheless it seems that in many instances 1 of the items individuals usually tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller startup commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to imparting a good sense of flight and it was certainly a winner.

Chattanooga logo design used for advertising and marketing and a tag style for Vintage Instance includes an archaic font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for music instruments, that seemed to be vintage cases. For this business logo concept I strove to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be used for anything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different point in time.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Chattanooga, Tennessee, style include an arc with lines intersecting via it to suggest steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can easily be one of the most challenging logo projects due to the fact that it seems that every dentist involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company marketing, if restaurants approached their branding in the same way dental practices do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would most likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I actually love doing dental business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and eventually I created a concept that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo made for a family not-for-profit, the logo design features 4 personalities startled in height to stand for a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the folks in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be very literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wishes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to describe exactly how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If you have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo that illustrates itself will never have the chance to be understood.

Logo design developed for a hair style studio featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a company logo which projected a spirit of relaxation and class for their new hair salon. I created a design that did not go the obvious route of creating merely a stylized orchid but rather crafted a logo design which suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the logo design with the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the image itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is frequently the wrong path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead put the main focus on the perception that they really wanted to project to their patrons.

Arabian steed logo layout developed for a steed ranch that concentrates on breeding Arabian show steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo crafted a unique creative logo concept styled to embody the unique physical traits of the Arabian breed of equines. By having a different head form and very high tail posture, the Arabian is one of the most immediately identifiable equine lineages in the whole world.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo design a tiny restaurant, style consists of a modified script typeface which hovers above a group of ornate lines and dots.

Logo design for a software application designer the design attributes and also renowned element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and disk management. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection between the software and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it meant something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the significance behind a logo is equally as important as how it brands the enterprise it represents.

A logo design including a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly recognized the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a spot to sell off their previously owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Chattanooga logo design dsign with a graphic that garners the interest of traffic and sends an image that calls to mind the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo design has actually an area integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem concept wasn’t actually designed for an Chattanooga, Tennessee area farm it was really designed for a commodities broker, and this company logo was one of multiple that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was actually to create a graphic that projects confidence, effectiveness, and affluence.

Chattanooga Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo style feature for externally encountering arrowhead as well as the arrowheads indicate that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what type of logo design they would like, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the opportunity to explore any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye in the absence of knowing where exactly the target is. Luckily, in this particular instance, I struck a bullseye with the 1st go.

Logo design designed for making use of an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font style that is similar to a popular sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed loads of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project where I worked directly with the business owner to develop a business logo which worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
