TIPS ON DETERMINING THE BEST LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo is an investment in both your time and your money so whenever a design firm offers a money back guarantee try to bear in mind that they simply cannot reimburse the amount of time you invest which is eminently more precious than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Some designers talk a good game but in the end a designer can only be evaluated by the quality of their design work, if the work in their portfolio doesn’t contain real world examples chances are they will not be able to deliver a premium logo design.

VISION

A logo’s aim is to be recognized and remembered, and it’s goal is to echo your personal vision for your business. If a logo designer isn’t focused on fulfilling your vision, the thing they are really focused on is how quickly they can get paid.

Dyersburg LOGO DESIGN

For over two decades ImageCo has been helping business owners cultivate memorable brands. We have performed logo design work for farmers, schools, heart surgeons, wedding singers, cafes, retail stores, and just about every other kind of business you can envision. What makes us different compared to our competitors is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we approach every design as if it will be used as an electric sign. As a result of our sign first approach our designs can, and have been utilized in everything from garment labels to neon signs. Our sign first approach insures that our logo designs are equally effective whether they are used in TV commercials or website applications, they are consistently identifiable, comprehended, and always remembered no matter of size or function.

American Made ★ Design

The thing that really sets ImageCo apart from many of the design agencies that you might have encountered in Google’s search results, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that absolutely every design project we are enlisted to perform, we do in-house. Regardless of the type of design project we undertake, logo, web site, trade show exhibition, or electrical sign, we do not, and never will job-out our customer’s projects to 3rd parties based outside the United States. Whenever you call us at 1-855-IMAGECO the party that answers the phone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not an agent that increases the price of your design project and dictates the conditions of how we do business.

QUALITIES OF AN EFFECTIVE LOGO DESIGN

Every new Dyersburg business knows they require a logo, yet few start ups entirely recognize the crucial role their company logo will perform in their financial success, or the reason that one business logo works better than another. A business logo has a critical and sustaining effect on the financial success of a business, pick the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, go with the wrong one and it can be a barrier and a hindrance for the life span of an organization. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Dyersburg companies succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t need contemplation, they can be comprehended in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from label to posters a scalable logo will be legible and just as emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel personal, and they are suitable for the product or business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo needs to be enduring and will feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from today.

understand your brand

Brand – It is a verb and a noun, it’s an identifying mark and also the process of noting something so that it can be identified, its genesis comes from the brand burned onto livestock. Nowadays a brand symbolizes virtually anything with an objective, regardless if it be revenue or politics, a brand is an inherent aspect of defining the value of something in the customer’s mind.

Branding – Is sort of like advertising and marketing’s sexy cousin, they are both from the same family, the distinction being that advertising and marketing have to do with making a promise and branding’s goal is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a strategic popularity competition aimed at a target market, it’s objective is to develop an image that the target market can identify with.

Brand Image – An image planted and cultivated through advertising and marketing and also identity design. When somebody mentions the brand names Ferrari or Corvette what we consider is their brand image, it’s an image that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of an automobile with 4 wheels that can transport us from point A to point B, the image we have (or at least I have) is of freedom, elegance, of something dangerous and exotic . That is brand image and brand image is what makes individuals want those brands. Brand image is why people purchase specific brands, from Nike to Adidas Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that we can identify with.

Branding Firms – If you reflect on the history of a lot of branding firms you’ll discover that they are quite often re-branded advertising firms. When a person claims they are in marketing most people will likely have a preconceived notion about the type of work they do anything that can be seen, touched or listened to become part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designers
– A brand identity designer is a designer that focuses on a kind of visual design which helps form the perception of a business, a product or an institution. Brand identity designers develop logo designs, signage designs, packaging, and collateral material such as cards, stationery, and also pamphlets. Some identity designers also build sites and also user interfaces. The essential role of a brand identity designer is to develop the visual cues and an emotional tone with the objective of affecting actions, results as well as understandings.

select signs/logos

Retro logo style of a bicycle created for a Dyersburg coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and cafe were actually launching in an older section of town and wanted to visualize a vintage vibe without appearing as uninteresting or low energy. I fulfilled the two tasks by means of designing a custom logo concept that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo style with a microscopic lense slide as well as germs designed for Dyersburg medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that researches the causes and outcomes of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare that works with the clinical evaluation of samples of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the only instance I recollect in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Typically I try not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents quite literally, but it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that makes it more intriguing, more interest grabbing and more meaningful.

logo layout with a leaping green frog designed for a family enjoyable center in Dyersburg.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the types of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dentists, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the company has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to feature a couple springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a better lively high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for advertising and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo including a flock of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and also a tree - designed for Dyersburg traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality because travel photographers don’t capture places or things but instead communicate emotional experiences through the photos they record. The idea behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of the majority of good photographers in that they frequently tell whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be conveyed with just words. I attempted to do something similar to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Dyersburg logo design but also to show the depth of her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Dyersburg logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design projects that I take on I honestly savor and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A but the client, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy truly loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his contempt for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage all of them to share it with friends and family as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get objective assessments on the benefit of a design concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they really loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logos are a strange creature in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire a professional to create their business logo realize how crucial a logo is for their organization so they are much more vested in the result. Every logo design project has it’s portion of obstacles, however the biggest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, style for Dyersburg publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender segment of real estate to work with, but it really is the most critical part of a printed book since it is in most cases the very first thing a person sees in the book shop. For a publishing company, it’s the opportunity they will ever get to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars changed to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go however it seems like that in many instances 1 of the aspects individuals usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small new venture commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a sense of air travel and it was surely a success.

Dyersburg logo layout made use of for advertising and also a label layout for Vintage Case includes an archaic font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand new cases for musical instruments, which seemed to be vintage cases. For this business logo concept I sought to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid vintage feel to it and could easily be used for every thing from a website to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different era.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Dyersburg, design consist of an arc with lines converging via it to imply metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design projects considering that it appears that every single dental professional integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to company marketing, if dining establishments approached their branding in the same way dentists do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would most likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I actually love doing dental care business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and eventually I created a concept that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a household nonprofit, the logo design features 4 personalities staggered in elevation to represent a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be very literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wants to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo which conveyed that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to illustrate specifically how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If you have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that describes itself won’t have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo style developed for a Dyersburg hair design workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a business logo that carried a sense of calmness and elegance for their new hair studio. I created a concept which didn’t go the obvious direction of creating merely a stylized orchid but alternatively crafted a logo design that implied a flower in the formation of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the logo design with the figure of a hummingbird floating over the image itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is usually the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately laid the attention on the emotion that they really wanted to project to their customers.

Arabian steed logo layout developed for an equine ranch that specializes in reproducing Arabian show horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo developed a unique business logo design fashioned to embody the unique physical traits of the Arabian pedigree of equines. With a different head form and very high tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the very most easily identifiable equine types in the entire world.

Las Cafe, A Dyersburg restaurant logo layout a little restaurant, design includes a modified script font style which floats above a team of luxuriant lines and dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo style a small restaurant, style consists of a modified manuscript font which floats over a team of ornate lines and also dots.

Logo layout for a software program programmer the design functions and also iconic Dyersburg aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and disk managing. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a bridge between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it meant something to the owner of the business and in many cases the significance behind a business logo is equally as important as how it brands the business it stands for.

Advance logo design developed for a Dyersburginterior designer, style attribute a collection of red circles that converge and also replace the letter O in the center of the logo design.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Dyersburg interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is a professional who plans, researches, collaborates, and oversees such tasks. Interior design is a multifaceted occupation that consists of conceptual development, area planning, location evaluations, programming, study, communicating with the stakeholders of a project, building and construction management, and implementation of the design.

logo layout provided for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Dyersburg, the characters for letter V as well as A in middle of the word progressed have actually been customized to link straight right into words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Dyersburg logo design assignment was completed for a leadership coach that enables business professionals to develop into more effective at handling people, expectations, and productivity.

A Dyersburg business logo design featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly recognized the market was primed for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a location to market their secondhand goods to other sports enthusiasts.

I tailored their Dyersburg logo design design utilizing an illustration that pulls in the interest of traffic and sends an image that invokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.

Logo design MQ farms, this Dyersburg company logo design has actually an area included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo idea wasn’t actually developed for an Dyersburg regional farm it was in reality designed for a commodities broker, and this particular logo design was one of several that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was actually to design a graphic that projects confidence, effectiveness, and affluence.

Dyersburg Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo design attribute for externally facing arrow as well as the arrowheads suggest that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what kind of logo design that they desired, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the flexibility to delve into any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye without knowing where exactly the target is. Luckily, in this instance, I struck a bullseye with the 1st try.

Logo design made for using an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script typeface that is evocative a famous Dyersburg sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created dozens of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project in which I worked closely with the proprietor to create a logo that worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
