Franklin Logo Design

Every new Franklin venture realizes that they require a logo, however few entrepreneurs thoroughly realize the vital role their logo design can make in their becoming successful, or the reason that one logo design functions far better than another. A company logo has an instant and long term impact on the success of a business, pick the correct one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the longevity of a company. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Franklin businesses succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require contemplation, they can be grasped in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable business logo will remain legible and equally emotive at virtually any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo must be lasting and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from now.

Retro logo style of a bicycle created for a Franklin coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffee shop were launching in an older section of the area and really wanted to project a nostalgic feel without coming across as boring or low energy. I fulfilled both of these jobs via creating a sign design that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscope slide and germs made for Franklin medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that investigates the root causes and outcomes of diseases, especially the field of healthcare which deals with the clinical assessment of samplings of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the only instance I call to mind in which I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Typically I try not to be extremely literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents very literally, however it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that makes it more intriguing, more interest grabbing and a lot more memorable.

logo style with a jumping green frog designed for a family enjoyable facility in Franklin.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of jobs that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for physicians, dentists, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to feature a couple of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a much more dynamic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and a tree - developed for Franklin travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche field due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture places or things but rather reveal emotional experiences by means of the pictures they record. The thought behind this logo concept was to utilize negative space to project more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of the majority of good photographers in that they oftentimes tell whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be communicated with just words. I attempted to do something very similar to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Franklin logo design but also to reveal the depth of her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Franklin logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design projects that I take on I honestly savor and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A but my customer, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man seriously disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family did not share his scorn for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I urge all of them to discuss it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get impartial point of views on the worthiness of a concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family and they loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logo designs are a weird animal in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to create their logo comprehend how crucial a logo design is for their organization so they are much more vested in the final result. Every logo job possesses it’s portion of hurdles, however the biggest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Franklin book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender parcel of real estate to work with, but it really is the most important part of a printed book given that it is ordinarily the very first thing a person views in the book shop. Regarding a publishing company, it’s the most ideal opportunity that they will likely ever get to advertise their label and get their logo design in front of the people that buy actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design designed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars modified to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart but it looks like that in many occurrences 1 of the items consumers usually tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small new venture commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their business logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to affording a good sense of flight and it was surely a winner.

Franklin logo design made use of for marketing and a tag design for Vintage Case features an archaic font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for music instruments, that appeared to be older cases. For this brand concept I tried to come up with a logo that had a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could easily be used for everything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from another point in time.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Franklin, design consist of an arc with lines intersecting via it to indicate metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo projects because it appears that every single dentist incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company marketing, if restaurants approached their branding in the very same way dental practitioners do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would probably have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I really love doing dentist logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a layout that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a family nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 characters surprised in elevation to stand for a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the residents in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wants to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a logo which conveyed that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to explain how people should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If you have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo that describes itself won’t have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo style produced for a hair design studio featuring a script font a hummingbird and also an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a business logo that communicated a spirit of ease and class for their new hair salon. I came up with a design that didn’t go the obvious direction of designing just a stylized orchid but instead delivered a logo design that suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the name and by putting emphasis on the logo design using the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is generally the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the attention on the feeling that they really wanted to forecast to their customers.

Arabian steed logo design created for an equine ranch that concentrates on reproducing Arabian show horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo developed an original logotype concept styled to manifest the unique physical traits of the Arabian breed of horses. By having an identifiable head form and higher tail posture, the Arabian is one of the very most immediately recognizable horse lineages in the entire world.

Las Coffee shop logo style a little restaurant, layout includes a changed manuscript font which floats over a team of ornate lines and also dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo layout a tiny dining establishment, layout contains a modified manuscript font which hovers over a team of ornate lines and also dots.

Logo layout for a software programmer the design functions and iconic element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and hard drive operations. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a bridge in between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it symbolized something to the owner of the business and in many cases the meaning supporting a logo design is equally as important as how it brands the business it stands for.

Advance logo style created for a Franklin interior developer, layout feature a collection of red circles that intersect as well as replace the letter O in the middle of the logo design.

A logo style featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly understood the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a place to sell off their previously owned goods to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Franklin logo dsign utilizing an illustration which seizes the interest of vehicles and sends an image that arouses the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo layout has an area incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo concept wasn’t actually designed for an Franklin regional farm it was really created for an investments broker, and this particular trademark was one of multiple that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was actually to make an identity that projected self-confidence, financial success, and opulence.
Logo design developed for the use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script typeface that is similar to a popular sports group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created loads of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking in which I worked closely with the owner to design a logo design which worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
