TIPS FOR PICKING THE RIGHT LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo design is an investment in both your time and your money so anytime a design firm offers a money back guarantee try to bear in mind that they simply cannot refund the time you commit which is much more precious than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Some designers talk a good game but inevitably a design agency can only be evaluated from the quality of their portfolio, if the work in their portfolio doesn’t feature actual examples chances are they will not be able to produce a quality logo design.

VISION

A logo’s goal is to be recognized and remembered, and it’s goal is to echo your unique vision for your organization. If a logo designer is not focused on actualizing your vision, the thing they are actually focused on is how fast they will get paid.

Goodlettsville LOGO DESIGN

For over two decades ImageCo has been helping entrepreneurs cultivate memorable brand identities. We’ve performed branding work for mechanics, colleges, heart surgeons, party planners, coffee roasters, retail stores, and virtually every other kind of business concern you can imagine. What makes ImageCo unique compared to our contemporaries is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we approach every brand identity project as if it will be employed as an electric sign. Because of our sign first technique our identity designs can, and have been used in everything from clothing labels to billboards. Our sign first method ensures that our logo designs are just as successful whether they are used in TV commercials or web apps, they are consistently identifiable, comprehended, and remembered no matter of scale or function.

American Made ★ Design

The thing which really sets ImageCo apart from other design companies that you might possibly have stumbled upon online, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that each and every project we are contracted to perform, we do in-house. Regardless of the kind of design project we take on, business logo, web page, trade show exhibit, or electrical sign, we do not, and never will farm out our client’s projects to companies based outside the USA. Whenever you call us at 1-855-IMAGECO the person that picks up the phone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a go-between that marks up the cost of your design project and determines the terms of how we do business.

CHARACTERISTICS OF AN EFFECTIVE LOGO DESIGN

It’s likely that every new Goodlettsville company understands that they probably need a logo, yet few start ups fully understand the vital role their logo will perform in their financial success, or why one logo works far better than another. A logo has a critical and long-term impact on the viability of a company, select the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the longevity of a company. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Goodlettsville companies prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require scrutiny, they can be understood in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from label to posters a scalable logo design will continue to be legible and just as emotive at virtually any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel personal, and they are suitable for the item or company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo design should be ageless and should feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from today.

understand your brand

Brand – It is both a verb as well as a noun, it’s an identifying mark and also the act of marking something to ensure that it can be identified, its foundation originates from the brand branded onto animals. Nowadays a brand signifies practically anything with a motive, regardless if it be profit or government agencies, a brand is an innate aspect of specifying the worth of a specific thing in the consumer’s mind.

Branding – Is sort of like advertising and marketing’s attractive cousin, they are both from the same family, the distinction being that marketing and advertising are about making a promise and branding’s goal is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a strategic popularity competition directed at a target market, it’s goal is to create an image that the audience will likely identify with.

Brand Image – An image planted and cultivated by advertising and marketing as well as identity design. When a person states the names Ferrari or Corvette what we think about is their brand image, it’s an image that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a car with 4 wheels that can deliver us from point A to point B, the image we have (or at least I have) is of freedom, beauty, of something dangerous and exotic . That is brand image and that is what makes people purchase those brands. Brand image is why people acquire specific brands, from Nike to Adidas Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that we can relate to.

Branding Companies – If you reflect on the beginning of most branding firms you’ll discover that they are quite often re-branded marketing agencies. When someone says they are in advertising and marketing the majority of people will likely have a preconceived notion about the type of work they do anything that can be seen, felt or listened to belong to a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designers
– A brand identity designer is a designer that concentrates on a type of visual design which helps shape the image of a firm, a product or a company. Brand identity designers produce logo designs, sign designs, packaging, and collateral products such as business cards, stationery, as well as brochures. Some identity designers also build sites and software interfaces. The vital duty of a brand identity designer is to establish the visual cues and a psychological tone with the objective of influencing actions, end results and understandings.

select SIGNS & LOGOS

Retro logo style of a bicycle created for a Goodlettsville coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee bar were launching in an older part of town and hoped to project a nostalgic feel without appearing as uninteresting or low energy. I fulfilled each of the jobs via creating a company logo design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo design with a microscopic lense slide and germs developed for Goodlettsville clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which studies the root causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the field of medicine that works with the laboratory examination of samplings of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the only instance I call to mind in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Typically I try not to be extremely literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, however it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more appealing, more interest grabbing and much more unforgettable.

logo style with a leaping eco-friendly frog developed for a household enjoyable center in Goodlettsville.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental experts, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the company has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to integrate a couple of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a more enthusiastic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they utilized for marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, and also a tree - designed for Goodlettsville traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche profession due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture places or things but instead communicate emotional experiences by means of the photos they capture. The idea behind this logo concept was to utilize negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of almost all good photographers in that they oftentimes share entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance which can’t be communicated with just words. I made an effort to do something comparable to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Goodlettsville logo design but also to show the depth of her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Goodlettsville logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design jobs that I take on I genuinely enjoy and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A however the client, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man really disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family didn’t share his aversion for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge all of them to discuss it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get objective point of views on the merit of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they adored the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Business logos are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to design their business logo understand how crucial a logo design is for their company so they are way more invested in the final result. Every logo design project possesses it’s share of hurdles, however the largest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, layout for Goodlettsville publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin segment of real estate to work with, yet it is the most vital part of a published book given that it is often the primary thing a person sees in the bookstore. For a publishing company, it’s the best opportunity that they will likely ever get to advertise their label and get their logo design in front of the people that buy actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars modified to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go but it seems that in many cases one of the items folks often tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest fledgling commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to conferring a sense of air travel and it was certainly a winner.

Goodlettsville logo style made use of for advertising and also a label style for Vintage Case includes an antiquated font style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for musical instruments, that looked to be much older cases. For this business logo design I attempted to come up with a logo that had a fluid vintage feel to it and could easily be utilized for every thing from a website to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different point in time.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Goodlettsville, style consist of an arc with lines intersecting with it to imply steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can be one of the most challenging logo design jobs considering that it seems that virtually every dentist incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business marketing, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the exact same way dentists do every one of their logos would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would likely include an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I actually love doing dentistry logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a layout that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a household nonprofit, the logo design features 4 personalities startled in height to represent a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wishes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that communicated that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to illustrate how people should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If you have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that explains itself won’t have the chance to be understood.

Logo layout created for a Goodlettsville hair design studio including a script font a hummingbird as well as an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a company logo which projected a feeling of tranquility and connection for their new hair salon. I created a concept which did not go the obvious direction of making simply a stylized orchid but instead crafted a company logo which suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl blended into the letter O in the name and by placing emphasis on the logo design with the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is in most cases the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately placed the focus on the emotion that they really wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Arabian steed logo style produced for a steed cattle ranch that concentrates on reproducing Arabian program steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo crafted a distinct logotype concept customized to embody the unique physical traits of the Arabian breed of equines. With an identifiable head form and high tail posture, the Arabian is one of the highly immediately identifiable equine types in the world.

Las Cafe, A Goodlettsville restaurant logo style a tiny restaurant, style includes a modified script font style which hovers over a team of ornate lines and dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo layout a little dining establishment, layout contains a changed script font style which floats above a team of luxuriant lines as well as dots.

Logo layout for a software application programmer the style features as well as famous Goodlettsville aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and hard drive operations. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a bridge between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it symbolized something to the owner of the business and in many cases the substance behind a logo is just as important as how it brands the company it represents.

Progress logo style developed for a Goodlettsvilleinterior designer, style attribute a collection of red circles that converge and also change the letter O in the middle of the logo design.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Goodlettsville interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is a professional who plans, explores, collaborates, and manages such tasks. Interior design is a diverse occupation that involves conceptual development, space planning, location examinations, programming, research study, communicating with the stakeholders of a project, construction management, and execution of the design.

logo layout provided for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Goodlettsville, the characters for letter V and A in middle of the word progressed have been modified to link straight into the words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Goodlettsville logo design job was undertaken for a leadership coach that enables business leaders to become more effective at handling people, expectations, and productivity.

A Goodlettsville business logo style featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly understood the market was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a location to sell off their pre-owned items to other sports enthusiasts.

I tailored their Goodlettsville logo design along with an illustration that pulls in the attention of traffic and sends an image that calls to mind the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.

Logo layout MQ farms, this Goodlettsville company logo design has actually an area included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo concept wasn’t actually created for an Goodlettsville regional farm it was really designed for a commodities broker, and this particular creative logo was one of a handful of that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was actually to create a graphic that projects self-confidence, financial success, and luxury.

Goodlettsville Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo design attribute for outwardly encountering arrow and also the arrowheads imply that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what type of logo design that they preferred, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the flexibility to delve into any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye without knowing where the target is. Luckily, in this particular instance, I nailed a bullseye with the 1st try.

Logo developed for using a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font style that is similar to a renowned Goodlettsville sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created quite a lot of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the United States, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking where I worked closely with the owner to produce a logo design that worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
