Kingsport Logo Design

Virtually every new Kingsport company realizes that they are in need of a logo, but few entrepreneurs fully realize the key role their logo can take in their becoming successful, or exactly why one business logo works far better than another. A logo has an instant and lasting impact on the growth of a company, choose the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the wrong one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the longevity of an organization. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Kingsport businesses succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these 5 things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not demand consideration, they can be grasped in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo will stay legible and equally emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo must be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from now.

Retro logo design of a bike developed for a Kingsport coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and bistro were opening up in an older section of the city and wished to project a retro tone without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I achieved each of the tasks by means of designing a logo concept that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo design with a microscope slide as well as bacteria created for Kingsport medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that researches the triggers and consequences of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare that works with the clinical assessment of specimens of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the only instance I call to mind where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Generally I try not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves very literally, however it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more captivating, more attention grabbing and much more meaningful.

logo design with a jumping environment-friendly frog created for a household enjoyable center in Kingsport.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the types of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental practices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the company features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to include a couple of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not actually reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a better enthusiastic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a group of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and a tree - designed for Kingsport travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche area because travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but instead communicate emotional journeys through the photos they capture. The thought behind this logo composition was to make use of negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of the majority of good photographers in that they often share whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be revealed with mere words. I tried to do something much the same to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Kingsport logo design but also to reveal the depth in her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Kingsport logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design jobs that I take on I genuinely take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A but my client, while he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy really despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family did not share his aversion for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage them to share it with friends and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get unprejudiced opinions on the worthiness of a design. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logo designs are a strange animal in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to create their logo recognize how essential a logo design is for their business so they are much more vested in the final result. Every logo job has it’s allotment of challenges, but the largest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, design for Kingsport publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped segment of real estate to work with, however it really is the most vital part of a printed book considering that it is in most cases the initial thing a person views in the bookstore. Concerning a publishing company, it’s the best opportunity they will ever have to advertise their brand and get their logo design in front of the people that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with the bars changed to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go however it seems like that in many cases 1 of the things consumers tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young new venture commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their organization logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a sense of flight and it was certainly a success.

Kingsport logo design utilized for advertising as well as a tag layout for Vintage Instance includes an archaic typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in new cases for music instruments, which seemed to be antique cases. For this custom logo design I tried to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be utilized for every thing from a web page to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different point in time.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Kingsport, design consist of an arc with lines converging with it to indicate steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logo designs can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design projects because it seems that every single dentist integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business marketing, if dining establishments approached their branding in the very same way dental practitioners do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would most likely have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I actually love doing dental care business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a concept that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo designed for a family members nonprofit, the logo design features 4 personalities staggered in elevation to represent a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be overly literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization hopes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a logo that communicated that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to summarize exactly how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If you have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that illustrates itself won’t have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo layout created for a hair style studio featuring a script font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a business logo that projected a sense of calmness and class for their new hair studio. I created a design that did not go the obvious direction of crafting merely a stylized orchid but rather delivered a business logo that suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl blended into the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the logo design with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is more often than not the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately put the emphasis on the emotion that they really wanted to project to their customers.

Logo style for a software application programmer the style functions and iconic component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and drive operations. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a bridge in between the software program and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it symbolized something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the significance behind a business logo is equally as important as how it brands the organization it represents.

A logo style including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly understood the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a spot to sell off their pre-owned goods to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Kingsport business logo dsign utilizing an image which garners the attention of vehicles and projects an image that wakens the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo layout has a field integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo idea wasn’t actually composed for an Kingsport area farm it was actually devised for a commodities broker, and this brand was one of multiple that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. Logo design developed for the use of an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript font style that is reminiscent of a famous sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created dozens of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking in which I worked directly with the proprietor to design a logo that worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
