New South Memphis Logo Design

Virtually every new New South Memphis venture realizes that they require a logo, but few entrepreneurs entirely realize the essential role their logo design will perform in their becoming successful, or the reason that one logo design functions more effectively than another. A company logo has a critical and sustaining impact on the financial success of a business, select the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, go with the wrong one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the longevity of a company. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help New South Memphis companies prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require deliberation, they can be understood in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable business logo will stay legible and equally emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a business logo needs to be ageless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.

Retro logo style of a bicycle produced for a New South Memphis coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and cafe were actually opening up in an old part of town and wished to visualize a vintage feel without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I achieved each of the jobs by means of creating a trademark concept that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo style with a microscope slide as well as germs made for New South Memphis medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which examines the triggers and effects of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare that works with the laboratory evaluation of samplings of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the only instance I remember in which I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a point, this design approaches the company it serves rather literally, however it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more interesting, more focus grabbing and much more unforgettable.

logo layout with a leaping environment-friendly frog created for a household enjoyable center in New South Memphis.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the types of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental offices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a couple springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a group of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - made for New South Memphis traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality due to the fact that travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but instead convey emotional experiences through the photos they capture. The thought behind this logo composition was to make use of negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of most professional photographers in that they oftentimes share whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be conveyed with mere words. I tried to do something the same to this logo design by making use of the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  New South Memphis logo design but also to illustrate the depth in her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

New South Memphis logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of business logo design projects that I take on I honestly savor and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A however my customer, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This man really hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his hatred for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage them to share it with colleagues and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get unprejudiced viewpoints on the benefit of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they really liked the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Business logos are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to design their logo recognize how vital a logo is for their business so they are way more vested in the result. Every logo design project possesses it’s portion of challenges, but the largest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for New South Memphis book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped parcel of real estate to work with, but it is the most crucial part of a published book because it is often the initial thing a person views in the book shop. With regard to a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity that they will ever have to publicize their brand and get their logo design in front of the individuals that buy actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches changed to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go yet it looks like that in many occurrences 1 of the aspects people tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest new venture commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a good sense of airline flight and it was definitely a victory.

New South Memphis logo layout utilized for advertising and marketing as well as a tag style for Vintage Case features an old-fashioned font style design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for music instruments, that looked to be much older cases. For this logo design I strove to come up with a logo that offered a fluid retro feel to it and could easily be used for every thing from a web site to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from another era.

Logo created for an orthodontist in New South Memphis, design consist of an arc with lines intersecting through it to indicate metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logo designs can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo jobs because it appears that every single dentist involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company marketing, if restaurants approached their branding in the same way dental offices do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would likely include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I really enjoy doing dentist business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a design that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was apparent was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a family nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 personalities staggered in height to represent a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wishes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The intention of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to describe specifically how people should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If viewers have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that explains itself won’t have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo style produced for a hair design studio including a script font a hummingbird and an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo design that related a sense of calmness and class for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept that did not go the obvious route of designing just a stylized orchid but rather created a logo that suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl blended into the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the logo design using the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the image itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is frequently the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead laid the attention on the perception that they wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Logo design for a software program programmer the design features as well as iconic element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and drive managing. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a connection between the software and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it meant something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the substance supporting a company logo is equally as important as how it serves the business it represents.

A logo design featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly recognized the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a location to sell their pre-owned goods to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their New South Memphis business logo dsign utilizing an image which garners the interest of traffic and projects an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.

The objective was actually to design a graphic that projects assurance, success, and opulence.
Logo design developed for using an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript font style that is similar to a well-known sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created dozens of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking in which I worked closely with the owner to produce a logo that worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
