Abilene, Texas Logo Design

Every new Abilene business realizes that they require a logo, but few entrepreneurs fully grasp the crucial role their business logo will make in their success, or the reason that one business logo performs better than another. A company logo has a critical and long term influence on the success of a company, pick the correct one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the life of a business.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Abilene, Texas businesses prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these five things in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand scrutiny, they can be grasped in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo will remain legible and equally emotive at virtually any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the enterprise they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo design should be enduring and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from now.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo style of a bike produced for a Abilene, Texas coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffee shop were opening up in an old part of town and wanted to cast a retro atmosphere without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I accomplished both of these jobs via developing a company logo design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and bacteria designed for Abilene, Texas clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that researches the triggers and consequences of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare which deals with the clinical assessment of samplings of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the only instance I remember in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Generally I try not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents quite literally, but it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more interesting, more focus grabbing and much more memorable.

logo layout with a jumping eco-friendly frog designed for a household enjoyable center in Abilene, Texas.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dentists, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the company has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to include a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a more enthusiastic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo including a group of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, and also a tree - developed for Abilene, Texas traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche sector due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but rather convey emotional journeys by means of the images they capture. The thought behind this logo concept was to utilize negative space to project more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of almost all good photographers in that they often tell whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be communicated with just words. I made an effort to do something very similar to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Abilene logo but also to show the depth to her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Abilene logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design projects that I take on I really take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A however my client, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man genuinely loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family members didn’t share his aversion for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge all of them to discuss it with friends and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get honest point of views on the benefit of a concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they adored the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to design their business logo comprehend how vital a logo design is for their organization so they are way more invested in the end result. Every logo job possesses it’s share of hurdles, however the most significant obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, design for Abilene, Texas book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow slice of real estate to work with, but it is the most essential part of a printed book since it is often the very first thing a person sees in the bookstore. With respect to a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity that they will ever have to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that buy actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart but it seems that in many occurrences one of the items people often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young startup commuter/shuttle airline company located in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to affording a sense of air travel and it was undoubtedly a winner.

Abilene logo style used for advertising and a label style for Vintage Situation includes an old-fashioned typeface style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for musical instruments, that seemed to be antique cases. For this brand concept I tried to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old style feel to it and could be used for every thing from a web page to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different era.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Abilene, Texas, design consist of an arc with lines intersecting through it to indicate metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logos can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo projects because it appears that virtually every dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business marketing, if restaurants approached their advertising in the same way dental practices do every one of their logo designs would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I actually love doing dentistry business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a layout that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a household not-for-profit, the logo features 4 personalities staggered in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the residents in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution hopes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The intention of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to explain exactly how people should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that describes itself won’t have the chance to be understood.

Logo design produced for a hair design workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo that projected a spirit of serenity and elegance for their new hair studio. I created a design which did not go the obvious path of creating merely a stylized orchid but instead delivered a company logo that implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the concept with the figure of a hummingbird floating above the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is oftentimes the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately laid the main focus on the emotion that they wanted to project to their clients.

Arabian horse logo layout developed for a steed cattle ranch that specializes in breeding Arabian program horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo created a distinct logotype design tailored to epitomize the unique physical traits of the Arabian kind of equines. By having a distinctive head form and higher tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the highly immediately recognizable equine types in the whole world.

Las Coffee shop logo layout a tiny restaurant, style includes a changed script font style which floats above a group of ornate lines and also dots.

Las Cafe logo style a little dining establishment, design includes a customized script font style which hovers over a team of elaborate lines as well as dots.

Logo layout for a software application developer the layout functions and iconic aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and drive managing. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection between the software and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it intimated something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the symbolism supporting a business logo is equally as important as how it serves the organization it stands for.

logo layout provided for Advanced Leadership Solutions, the personalities for letter V and A in middle of the word progressed have actually been customized to link directly into the words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Abilene, Texas logo design project was done for a management advisor that aids business leaders to become more efficient at managing people, expectations, and productivity.
A logo design including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly understood the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a location to sell their secondhand products to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Abilene logo dsign along with an image which seizes the attention of traffic and projects an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo style has actually a field included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo design wasn’t really produced for an Abilene, Texas regional farm it was really designed for an investments broker, and this brand was one of many that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was actually to develop a graphic that projects esteem, financial success, and luxury.

Abilene Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo style attribute for outwardly dealing with arrow and also the arrowheads indicate that it is a ruby shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what kind of logo design they desired, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the freedom to investigate any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye in the absence of knowing where the target is. Luckily, in this case, I nailed a bullseye with the 1st shot.

Logo design designed for using an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript typeface that is reminiscent of a well-known sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted loads of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking where I worked closely with the owner to develop a business logo which worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
