Allen Logo Design

Virtually every new Allen company knows they require a logo, yet few new business owners thoroughly grasp the key role their business logo will perform in their success, or precisely why one business logo performs far better than another. A company logo has an immediate and lasting influence on the success of a company, pick the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, go with the wrong one and it can be a barrier and a hindrance for the longevity of a company. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Allen businesses prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t demand consideration, they can be understood in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo design will stay legible and just as emotive at virtually any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the enterprise they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo needs to be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from now.

Retro logo style of a bike produced for a Allen coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually opening up in an old part of town and really wanted to cast a vintage vibe without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I achieved each of the tasks by designing a trademark concept that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide as well as bacteria created for Allen medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which investigates the triggers and consequences of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare which deals with the laboratory assessment of samples of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the sole instance I recall in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Typically I attempt not to be excessively literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves rather literally, yet it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more intriguing, more attention grabbing and even more unforgettable.

logo design with a jumping green frog made for a family enjoyable center in Allen.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of projects that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental experts, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the business has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to feature a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a better enthusiastic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, and a tree - designed for Allen traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I think it is a niche profession due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but rather convey emotional journeys through the pictures they record. The thought behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of most professional photographers in that they often convey whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be communicated with just words. I made an effort to do something very similar to this logo by using the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Allen logo design but also to show the depth to her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Allen logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of custom logo design jobs that I take on I truly relish and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A however my client, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man genuinely despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family members did not share his hatred for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage them to talk about it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get neutral viewpoints on the merit of a concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they really liked the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logos are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire a professional to design their business logo comprehend how essential a logo design is for their company so they are much more invested in the final result. Every logo design job possesses it’s portion of obstacles, but the most significant challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, style for Allen publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin piece of real estate to work with, but it is the most crucial part of a published book given that it is often the initial thing a person views in the bookstore. Regarding a publishing company, it’s the optimal opportunity they will likely ever have to publicize their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart but it seems like that in many cases 1 of the aspects people often tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest new venture commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their business logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to imparting a good sense of air travel and it was definitely a success.

Allen logo style utilized for advertising and marketing and a tag style for Vintage Situation includes an old typeface design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for music instruments, that appeared to be much older cases. For this custom logo concept I attempted to come up with a logo that provided a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could easily be used for everything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another point in time.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Allen, design include an arc with lines intersecting with it to imply steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo jobs considering that it seems that every dentist incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to small business marketing, if restaurants approached their advertising in the exact same way dental professionals do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would most likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I really enjoy doing dentist logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a design that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a family members not-for-profit, the logo design features 4 characters startled in height to stand for a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the families in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wants to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a logo which conveyed that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to summarize how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that describes itself will never have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo design developed for a hair design studio featuring a script font a hummingbird and also an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo which related a spirit of simplicity and class for their new hair salon. I created a concept which did not go the obvious path of making just a stylized orchid but rather delivered a logo that suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl featured into the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the concept with the figure of a hummingbird floating over the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a business logo is oftentimes the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead placed the importance on the emotion that they really wanted to project to their customers.

Logo style for a software application designer the style features and famous element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and disk managing. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a bridge in between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it symbolized something to the owner of the company and in many cases the substance supporting a business logo is equally as important as how it brands the business it stands for.

A logo style including a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly realized the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a spot to market their secondhand items to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Allen logo design dsign with a graphic that pulls in the interest of vehicles and projects an image that arouses the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo design has actually a field included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo concept wasn’t actually created for an Allen regional farm it was actually designed for a commodities broker, and this logo design was one of several that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was actually to generate a brand mark that projected self-confidence, success, and luxury.
Logo designed for the use of a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font style that is evocative a famous sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created quite a lot of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking where I worked closely with the proprietor to design a logo design that worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
