Alton Logo Design

Virtually every new Alton company knows they require a logo, yet few entrepreneurs thoroughly understand the pivotal role their company logo will take in their success, or precisely why one logo performs more effectively than another. A company logo has an instant and lasting impact on the prosperity of a company, go with the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, choose the wrong one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the longevity of a business. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Alton companies prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require consideration, they can be realized in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo design will be legible and equally emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the organization they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo needs to be ageless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from today.

Retro logo style of a bicycle created for a Alton coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually launching in an old section of the area and hoped to cast a nostalgic feel without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I accomplished both tasks by designing a trademark concept that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo style with a microscope slide and also bacteria developed for Alton clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which researches the causes and outcomes of diseases, especially the field of healthcare which works with the laboratory examination of samples of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is really the only instance I remember in which I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Typically I attempt not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, however it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that makes it more appealing, more attention grabbing and more memorable.

logo design with a leaping environment-friendly frog created for a family enjoyable center in Alton.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental experts, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the business has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to include a couple of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo including a flock of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and also a tree - developed for Alton traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality because travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but instead convey emotional experiences by means of the images they record. The thought behind this logo design was to use negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of most good photographers in that they often share entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness which can’t be conveyed with mere words. I attempted to do something similar to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Alton logo design but also to illustrate the depth to her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Alton logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of business logo design projects that I take on I honestly take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A but my customer, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular guy genuinely disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his contempt for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage all of them to share it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with people that they don’t actually know so as to get honest point of views on the merit of a design concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they really loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logo designs are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that tend to hire an expert to design their logo design comprehend how essential a logo design is for their organization so they are way more vested in the final result. Every logo project possesses it’s allotment of challenges, but the most significant challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, layout for Alton book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender piece of real estate to work with, yet it is the most essential part of a published book because it is often the first thing a person views in the bookstore. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the optimal opportunity that they will ever have to promote their brand and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches changed to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart but it seems that in many cases 1 of the items people usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest new venture commuter/shuttle airline company located in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their business logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a feeling of airline flight and it was certainly a victory.

Alton logo design used for advertising and marketing and also a label style for Vintage Instance includes an antiquated typeface style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for musical instruments, which seemed to be older cases. For this business logo concept I attempted to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid vintage feel to it and could be utilized for everything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another point in time.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Alton, design consist of an arc with lines intersecting with it to suggest steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo jobs considering that it seems that every single dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company marketing, if restaurants approached their branding in the exact same way dental offices do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would most likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really enjoy doing dentist logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and eventually I created a concept that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this concept over to the client the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a family nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 characters surprised in height to stand for a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the families in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution hopes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo which communicated that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to describe how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If viewers have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that describes itself won’t have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo style created for a hair design studio including a script font a hummingbird and also an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo design that carried a spirit of ease and connection for their new hair salon. I created a concept that didn’t go the obvious path of creating simply a stylized orchid but rather delivered a logo design which suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the logo design along with the figure of a hummingbird floating above the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is frequently the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead put the attention on the perception that they wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Arabian equine logo style created for a horse ranch that concentrates on breeding Arabian program equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo style a small dining establishment, style includes a customized manuscript font which hovers over a group of luxuriant lines as well as dots.

Logo layout for a software developer the design attributes and also iconic element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and disk management. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a bridge between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it intimated something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the significance supporting a logo design is just as important as how it serves the company it represents.

Advance logo layout created for a Alton indoor designer, design attribute a collection of red circles that converge and also replace the letter O in the middle of the logo design.

A logo style including a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly recognized the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a location to sell off their secondhand equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Alton logo design dsign along with a graphic that garners the interest of traffic and projects an image that arouses the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo design has actually a field included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo concept wasn’t actually designed for an Alton area farm it was in reality created for a products broker, and this business logo was one of many which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was really to generate a brand mark that projects confidence, success, and wealth.
Logo design created for making use of a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font style that is reminiscent of a renowned sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed loads of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project in which I worked closely with the business owner to design a business logo which worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
