POINTERS ON IDENTIFYING THE RIGHT LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo design is an investment in both your time and your money so anytime a design agency presents a money back guarantee try to bear in mind that they can not reimburse the amount of time you invest which is eminently more valuable than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Many designers talk a good game but in the end a designer can only be evaluated from the quality of their design work, if the work in their portfolio does not contain real world examples odds are they will never be able to deliver a top quality logo design.

VISION

A logo’s objective is to be understood and remembered, and it’s purpose is to echo your personal vision for your company. If a designer is not focused on actualizing your vision, the thing they are really focused on is how quickly they will get paid.

Alvin LOGO DESIGN

For over 2 decades ImageCo has been helping start ups and entrepreneurs grow unforgettable brand identities. We have undertaken brand identity design work for builders, colleges, diamond miners, party planners, diners, retail stores, and practically every other kind of business concern you can imagine. What makes ImageCo different compared to our contemporaries is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we undertake every design as though it will be utilized as an electric sign. As a result of our sign first method our brand identity designs can, and have been employed in everything from fashion labels to billboards. Our sign first method insures that our logos are just as reliable whether they are used in TV commercials or web headers, they are consistently recognizable, comprehended, and remembered regardless of size or use.

American Made ★ Design

Something which really sets ImageCo apart from many of the design agencies that you might possibly have found in Google’s search results, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that absolutely every project we are contracted to perform, we perform in-house. No matter the kind of project we undertake, business logo, web page, trade show exhibition, or commercial sign, we do not, and never will farm-out our customer’s work to contractors based outside the US. When you contact us at 1-855-IMAGECO the person that answers the telephone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not an agent that marks up the cost of your project and dictates the conditions of how my customers and I conduct business.

CHARACTERISTICS OF A POWERFUL LOGO DESIGN

Nearly every new Alvin entrepreneur understands that they require a logo, however few new business owners fully understand the crucial role their logo design will make in their becoming successful, or exactly why one business logo works far better than another. A logo has an immediate and lasting impact on the success of a company, go with the correct one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the wrong one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the life span of an organization. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Alvin businesses prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require scrutiny, they can be grasped in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from label to billboards a scalable logo will remain legible and just as emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel right, and they are suitable for the item or organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo design must be lasting and will feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from now.

understanding branding

Brand – It’s a verb and also a noun, it’s an identifying mark and also the process of marking something to ensure that it can be identified, its origin originates from the mark branded onto animals. These days a brand symbolizes practically anything with an intention, regardless if it be earnings or political parties, a brand is an intrinsic aspect of specifying the value of a specific thing in the public’s mind.

Branding – Is sort of like marketing and advertising’s sexy cousin, they are all from the exact same family, the distinction being that advertising and marketing are about making a promise and branding’s objective is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a strategic popularity contest directed at a specific audience, it’s goal is to develop an image that the target market will likely relate to.

Brand Image – An image planted and cultivated by advertising and marketing and identity design. When a person says the brand names Porsche or Corvette what we think about is their brand image, it’s an image that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a vehicle with 4 wheels that can move us from point A to point B, the the mental image we have (or at least I have) is of speed, elegance, of something dangerous and unique . That is brand image and brand image is what makes individuals want those products. Brand image is why people acquire specific brands, from Pepsi to Coke Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that we can identify with.

Branding Companies – If you reflect on the origin of most branding firms you’ll discover that they are often rebranded advertising firms. When someone states they are in advertising lots of people will likely have an idea about what they do. But when somebody states “I’m in branding”… it just seems more attractive, perhaps it’s because most people do not understand what it suggests to be in branding so it comes off as mysterious and maybe even sexy.

Brand Identity – Is an inclusive term that defines the visual aspects of a product or company that affect view points. This primarily includes the name, the logo, the packaging, the colors used but can also include sound, illumination, texture, signs, actually anything that can be seen, felt or heard belong to a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designers
– A brand identity designer is a designer that specializes in a type of visual design which helps shape the perception of a firm, a product or a company. Brand identity designers develop logo designs, signage designs, product packaging, and collateral material such as business cards, stationery, as well as brochures. Some identity designers also design web sites and also user interfaces. The vital duty of a brand identity designer is to create the visual cues as well as an emotional tone with the goal of affecting activities, outcomes as well as assumptions.

select signs/logos

Retro logo layout of a bike developed for a Alvin coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually opening up in an older section of the community and hoped to visualize a retro tone without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I fulfilled both tasks by creating a custom logo design that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo design with a microscope slide and also germs designed for Alvin clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that studies the triggers and outcomes of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare that deals with the clinical examination of samples of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the only instance I recall in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be overly literal with a concept and to a point, this design approaches the company it serves rather literally, however it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more intriguing, more attention grabbing and a lot more meaningful.

logo design with a leaping green frog developed for a family members enjoyable facility in Alvin.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental professionals, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the company has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a couple springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a more lively high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, and also a tree - created for Alvin traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche sector because travel photographers tend not to capture places or things but rather project emotional experiences through the images they record. The idea behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of almost all good photographers in that they frequently convey entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be communicated with mere words. I attempted to do something very similar to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Alvin logo design but also to reveal the depth in her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Alvin logo style with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of logo design projects that I take on I truly savor and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A but the client, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy seriously loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family did not share his aversion for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge all of them to talk about it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get neutral opinions on the value of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they really loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a strange creature in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to design their business logo realize how important a logo is for their company so they are much more vested in the final result. Every logo design project possesses it’s share of hurdles, but the most significant obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Alvin publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin slice of real estate to work with, however it really is the most essential part of a published book considering that it is ordinarily the very first thing a person sees in the book store. Regarding a publishing company, it’s the best opportunity that they will ever have to advertise their brand and get their logo design in front of the individuals that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with the bars customized to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go however it looks like that in many cases one of the aspects consumers often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest new venture commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a feeling of flight and it was undoubtedly a winner.

Alvin logo style made use of for marketing as well as a label style for Vintage Instance features an old font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in all new cases for music instruments, that seemed to be antique cases. For this brand concept I sought to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could be used for every thing from a web page to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another generation.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Alvin, design consist of an arc with lines converging through it to indicate metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry business logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo projects because it appears that virtually every dental professional features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company marketing, if restaurants approached their branding in the exact same way dental practices do every one of their logos would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I really love doing dentistry logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a layout that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was evident was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family nonprofit, the logo design features 4 personalities surprised in elevation to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the residents in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wishes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that communicated that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to summarize specifically how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If people have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that explains itself will never have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo design developed for a Alvin hair layout studio featuring a script font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a company logo which communicated an atmosphere of peace and class for their new hair studio. I came up with a design which didn’t go the obvious route of designing merely a stylized orchid but rather designed a company logo that implied a flower in the formation of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the logo design along with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the image itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is in most cases the wrong path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the focus on the perception that they really wanted to forecast to their clients.

Arabian equine logo style developed for an equine cattle ranch that focuses on reproducing Arabian show equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo designed a one-of-a-kind brand concept tailored to manifest the unique physical traits of the Arabian kind of horses. With an unique head shape and very high tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the highly quite easily recognizable equine types in the entire world.

Las Cafe, A Alvin restaurant logo design a tiny dining establishment, design consists of a modified manuscript typeface which floats above a group of luxuriant lines as well as dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo layout a tiny dining establishment, design consists of a modified manuscript font style which hovers above a group of elaborate lines and dots.

Logo style for a software designer the layout features as well as renowned Alvin element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and drive management. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a bridge in between the software and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it symbolized something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the significance behind a logo is equally as important as how it brands the business it represents.

Advance logo layout produced for a Alvinindoor developer, design attribute a collection of red circles that intersect and replace the letter O in the center of the logo layout.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Alvin interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is an individual who organizes, explores, coordinates, and oversees such projects. Interior design is a multifaceted profession that includes conceptual development, area planning, site examinations, programming, study, communicating with the stakeholders of a project, construction management, and implementation of the design.

logo design provided for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Alvin, the characters for letter V as well as A in middle of words advanced have been changed to link straight into words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Alvin logo design project was performed for a leadership specialist that assists business leaders to become more successful at handling people, expectations, and productivity.

A Alvin business logo style featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly realized the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a place to sell their secondhand items to other sports enthusiasts.

I designed their Alvin logo design along with an illustration which pulls in the interest of vehicles and sends an image that arouses the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.

Logo style MQ ranches, this Alvin company logo design has a field incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo idea wasn’t really created for an Alvin regional farm it was actually created for a commodities broker, and this particular trademark was one of several which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was actually to make an identity that projected assurance, financial success, and opulence.

Alvin Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo layout feature for externally encountering arrowhead as well as the arrowheads suggest that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what type of logo design they desired, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the liberty to investigate any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye without realizing where exactly the target is. Luckily, in this particular instance, I nailed a bullseye with the very first go.

Logo design made for the use of an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font that is similar to a well-known Alvin sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted loads of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the United States, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking in which I worked closely with the owner to produce a logo that worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
